Simpler times. Best music ever recorded. No cellphones. A time when you actually had conversations with each other in person. I wouldn't want to be an adolescent today for a million dollars. You have no idea what you missed.
Agree Thomas, sadly those Great times (70's) will Never be again. At least We got to experience it first hand..............so I keep the memories alive with my video creations.
This song was very popular in '73, which was the year I graduated from high school.I didn't have a Chevy van, but I did all right. It was the 70s after all. 😁
Yes Sir, it was the Great 1970's, a time that will Sadly never return. Glad we were there to experience those amazing years. Seems like a Century ago when you look at the insanity that is today.
@RockmasterVideos You know it. The free love of the hippy '60s continued into the '70s. Usually referred to in the '70s as the one night stand. Love was definitely in the air back then. It was pre-aids and both sexes were on the move with no judgement. Now, what with road rage, hotheadedness, and some folks think killing is an easy out to a situation; the '70s look pretty good. If there was a time machine that could take me back to those days AND be in my twenties again; well, I'd be ready to go.
OMG! Eight track tape! I haven't heard that phrasing in decades. I tried repairing an eight track for a girlfriend back in '75. It wouldn't channel change correctly. Once I got inside that thing, I couldn't believe my eyes. It actually fed from a reel and back into itself. Well, I got her tape to play, but it had to be channeled manually. I tried.
Mr Rock master... After viewing many comments its occurred to me. I'm retired, 68 yrs old but young at heart and recently retired. Sold my house, made a tidy profit and always wanted a Harley. Unfortunately the last few years I've been losing my balance. So the Harley is out of the question. When I heard your song it dawned on me to get a Chevy van, fix up the interior with a bed at least. And re-live my teen years. Complete with 8-track player. I have the time, the money and be free to wonder around. You've given me a great idea and I thank you greatly. ✌ 👍
Sounds like a Great & Fun idea. Yes, I know about balance issues.A restored 70's van (Chevy's are my fav.) or whichever maker is decided it will be a blast to choose your own interior as the availability of all the modern produts/replicas you can affordably have a Awesome small apartment on 4 wheels. That sounds like a Fun & Rewarding project to take on. Made my Night that you thought of that cool idea. It will get alot of Stares (good ones) as few have thought of doing that, & also being able to rest on a bed when /if you went out of town in it. Cool comment!
In 1982, I drove my then girlfriend from California where we were stationed in the Navy, to her home in New Jersey. Shortly after we pulled into her driveway, her father came out to take a look at my van. I will never forget when he peered in the side door and asked me what that bed in the back was for! 42 years later- and I still have my beautiful Jersey girl! (Miss all my vans though.)
Cool event no doubt! Coast to Coast with a bed 3 feet behind the drivers seat...now that was a Convience we all could appreciate. Thanks for your U.S. Military service sir!👍
Summer of 1975......this song experienced success across the United States and Canada reaching #5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, eventually achieving one million sells. And memories are made of this!!
Have no regrets Michael! Just think how much we learned about love and life!! Who we are today, is because we had a few hard lessons! It was a great time to be alive back then and to still be here to share our lives with the ones who stuck by thru thick and thin!! Take care!!
I had 6 Chevy vans over the years. The first one was a 1978, totally hippy type van, my dad would say "I bet if that van could talk it could tell me some stories!" Luckily it couldn't!
The image of the van reminds me of my parents van back then. It had a table that converted to a bed. Took trips from Iowa to northern Minnesota many summers in that vehicle. All six of us fit and us 4 kids could play cards or other games at the table while traveling or make it in to a bed to nap. Great memories. Love this song!

Those vans were the greatest thing to be on the road. Some of the greatest paintings were on the sides of a van. The interiors shag carpeting and beds, well let your imagination run wild what happened inside of a van. Getting high getting laid and just having a great time is 70s were the best. Sammy John brought it home with that song.
Never owned a van but in 1980 i was.29 and lucky enough to own a 1974 caprice classic big block 454. The back seat was as comfy as a motel bed. And i happily shared it with my girlfriend and her younger sister. At different times of course

OMG Mr Dan!!! I remember that distinctively. Although I couldn't afford a van my friends told me that when the girls approached him, they bloody well assumed the bed in the back was gonna be used in the next 48 hrs. He got so much a$$ it was hard to imagine. Matter of fact he got a sticker for the back saying " if the vans a rocking don't come a knocking". Too bad they don't make vans anymore. A sad story in the chapters of America.
takes me back, I had a 68 108 long bed with a 350v8 4barrel carb, keystone rims custom interior 8 6x9 speakers with a pioneer 8 track, equalizer. Made lots of love in that thing.
Oh yes, those were Great vans. 6x9 speakers were the way to go back then...& a Pioneer to boot...........You were Rockin'......& had the Hanky Panky going on too. Rock - n - Roll!
Some must have dropped that 350 in there as in 1968 the biggest V8 you could get was the 307. A often forgotten small block considering they built so many of them in the late 60's and early 70's.
I sure miss my '72 short wheel base, nice custom interior, dark blue paint, Rocket mags, 6 cyl, 3 in the tree. Me and all the guys that had them broke the "C" off of the emblem on the front fenders, so it made it say "hevy van". Good times!! Growing up in the 70's ROCKED!!!

When I was in high school, a guy a few years ahead of me, had a Chevy van. He had graphics put on it along with the words "Shaggin' Wagon." I always wondered if he got the idea from this song! 😂
He might have? They were a fun & roomy vehicle to have. LoL @ 'Shaggin Wagon'. Stop by anytime, I just Subscribed to your Cool channel.
@@RockmasterVideos Awesome, thanks!
One of the greatest love songs ever
In 1978, in Oklahoma, a 14 year old could get a motorcycle license to drive a 125cc or less. Glorious days.
I agree Donnie! I had a Honda 125cc, filled the tank for under 1 dollar. Glorious days they were.
Oh the memories ... lmao
9/2024
No Chevy van, but a ‘74 Chevy Blazer, you could get a lot done. If I could do it again.
Cool ! I' m on my 3rd Blazer. Love Chevy's. Wish I could go back too 👍
Reminds me of a movie, "Corvette Summer"!!
Yes, good comparison Terry. Liked that cool movie too!
My hope is that EVs bring back those late 60s vans like 1:34
Cool, yeah I like that picture(s) too. Thanks for a cool comment 12vLife.
Hey I enjoyed your video very much, cool old Vans, and fine women... How can you lose with that combo. this song/video bringa back the old saying "if this vans a rockin', dont come knockin!" LOL! nice job dude.
Thanks K L, Glad you enjoyed it. Just a idea I had back in 2014. Many tribute videos to this song have alot more views than mine but I always Focus on portraying the Lyrics in a way to match the written lyrics....LoL @ Dont come knockin' !

November "24. Hopefully another 50 years
With you all the way CryptidWalks, better & more enjoyable times they were........→Facts.
We're did those days go
Sadly they have been replaced by Insanity & horrible crap fake music. LoL.
I don't know, but they are long gone.
I almost forgot about all of the tricked out vans in the 70's.
I can relate Glenn, rarely (if ever) see them anywhere anymore. A Bed on wheels (short of pulling a Camper) was a great vehicle to have back then,....LoL! Tricked Out is a great word to descibe them.
Great in Concert. Album Great
Cool!
Love it Brian my friend very nice Classic 70s ... 62 ,000 views Wow' I 'd like to do this one
Thank you Roger! Made this video 1 evening in August. 2014.....had no idea it would be liked by so many. Yes sir......Classic 70's indeed.
Brings back fond memories
The 70's....Another World it was.
@RockmasterVideos l did not have a Chevy it was a white 59 Cadillac and we are still together 48 years
Actually it is about 24 years he went to sea about 27 years
@@DianeFausser , Wow, that's a half (or over) of life at Sea. Many of my neighbors here are Retired U.S. Navy.
Not the Navy, Merchant Marines First Assistant Engineer
Lived in McBride BC, a town of 800 at the time came out.
Nice area in B.C. 1 of the most serene places on earth.....→ British Columbia!
The last time I stared at a sleeping woman, it didn't end up like this. I got escorted away in handcuffs.
LMAO!
Amazing time❤
They were some Unique years, & very enjoyable.
@RockmasterVideos amazing love n peace years
@@rogergolden8950 , I couldn't agree more Roger, peace & true love was everywhere then.
Damn! I was just a kid back then, but it's still stuck in the sound track of my mind in the best way! Did Chevy ever use this in ads?
Not that I can recall.
Back in 75 i iived in nebraska which was no. 6 fin the country for drinking wed go to small towns to party and meet women. It was like this song was about us. Seemed that way.
It was a totally different atmosphere back then.
1 of my favorite songs
Glad you enjoyed it Joseph!
Wow, haven't seen Mr. Natural for years.
Nice song & video bud.
Thank you Sid&shaillana Eben, I really appreciate the kind words. I just Subscribed to you Channel as you have many interesting & Heartfelt videos that we all can relate to in Life. Have a Great evening!
This one song started the Custom van craze of the Seventies, of which I had one, and this 8 track
Never had a Chevy van (or any van) back then. Yes, the guys with a customized van could get the sexy ladies much easier....LoL.
I had a used one, leaked oil, took my motorcycle to the races with my gal or parked behind the high school. Good times.
Cool! Hello from another Jax,FL. resident. I'm loking for a early 70's Chevy Van to restore, a project for my Newly retired self...LoL!
@@RockmasterVideos II meant back in 1975. In New York. If i see one somewhere I’ll let you know!
@@take5th ,O.K. Thanks!
great
Thank you Cindy, glad you enjoyed it !
They filmed the pizza parlor scenes for the movie just around the corner from my house.
Awesome, you have a longstanding knowlege of this classic hit. It was so relatable back in the 70's as there were many Chevy vans on the road. A party on wheels.....thanks for sharing that.
@@RockmasterVideos As the Late Herbert R. Tarlek Jr. used to say No Problemo. For some reason "useless" trivia just sticks in my brain and sometimes it comes in handy. There was some really crazy stuff back in the 70's in Southern California where I was born and raised and I'm proud to say that I was lucky/blessed to see most of it. lol.
Timeless.
Agree 100% sir!
I was 13😢
I can relate, I was 12.
