This is the gold standard for editing, pace, and overall awesomeness. If this took the creator of this montage less than a decade to compile, then he’s a genius too :) Beyond grateful and appreciative. Thank you.
This video is extremely well done. I love the clips from classics through contemporary films and in each both the content of what's shown and the synchronization of the action are nearly perfect. Added to this, there are many, very many lovely actresses in the video from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and the 2000s. The time spent making this is great but the knowledge of filmology is extraordinary. Incidently, whem Kim tried to get this song produced and was rejected. He then produced himself. He earned royalties as the singer, song writer, producer, and recording company owner. Great story.
HI SCOTTRUSS42!! I NEVER ,EVER COMMENT ON VIDEOS. BUT, MAN, YOU NAILED IT!!! WHAT AN EXTRAORDINARILY AWESOME PIECE OF WORK. I CAN'T IMAGINE THE TIME, ENERGY AND THOUGHT YOU PUT INTO THIS MASTERPIECE!!!! P.S. ignore those negative comments - those people are just really, really jealous that they aren't able to do something like this!
Any video that Starts and Finishes with Fred Astaire, you know it’s going to be GOLDEN ! If THIS song doesn’t get your feet tapping, check your pulse ! You may be dead !
Great job on the clips. At first I thought, "oh, here we go again with a mix of dumb clips" but you really put them together well. Great video with a great song.
When I was five years old, this is the song that made me dream of growing up and falling in love more than any other. This video is nearly perfect for it. There’s only a few clips I think don’t fit. But the way he combines the romantic looks in women’s eyes with the dance scenes is brilliant.
The opening bars on this song are so good and so amazingly effective. First only the bass & hi-hat, then the syrupy beautiful Wurlitzer electric piano combined with barely-there guitar faintly heard only on the second beat. Muscle Shoals w/ a touch of Motown. I can listen to the opening over and over and never get tired of it. So simple and so rediculously catchy.
I was in my early teens, Rock i got into, and this was realized as pure studio perfection. I could smell studio professionalism with everything I knew about music at the time. Fleetwood Mac a decade later brought studio professionalism to my attention, like this song did, …? for some strange reason. #chorusEnd #comeAndRockMe #andyKimDude
EVERYBODY loves your editing in the comments!! What's your favorite moment? 0:29 :D< I love the girl giving her dog a bath in the swimming pool, while dancing "the swim."
I love the accompanying video. Very well done. Andy's real name is.................... Androwis Jovakim. He was born in 1952 in Montreal, Quebec. His parents were originally from Lebanon. A lot of sites list his real name incorrectly.
This is very well and beautifully put together. I can't tell you how much this means to me to see these clips and this song, the memories, the cheerfulness and you did it so well! I will watch again and again
I think I am going to choose this song for my summer Karaoke contest. I liked this song as a kid and I need an upbeat catchy song to get the crowd going. This is it! I met Andy at the CNE performing. He is cool and down to earth. Cheers!
Who the woman who puts her leg up at the table towards the end? The sequence is Sandra Bullock, HER, a man lifts women from the fountain, Julia Roberts, and Fred Astaire + Ginger Rogers raising champagne glasses at the end.
This video captures all the popular Hollywood leading ladies during the 80s (as well as other eras). I find myself just lost in my memories as this video unfolds. Thank you.
Scott, you are a virtuoso! Your Rock Me Gently Video Montage is Splendidly Magnificent. Thank you for all of the enjoyment I found in this gift of masterful art.

Come and Rock me, indeed. #hatTip to this video, and this song in my youth I saw for the first time the power of the studio, and the crowd I never met in later years who created all those many simply wonderful songs I heard in my youth, #aHatTipToYouDudesToo

It makes want to dance. But i haven't any rhythm. It would be like a chicken with its head cut off.
Agreed. My only thing is it would be nice to know where some of the clips came from. That could just be me though.
