From Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema comes award-winning filmmaker Ryan Coogler’s “Creed.” The film explores a new chapter in the “Rocky” story and stars Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone in his iconic role. The film also reunites Coogler with his “Fruitvale Station” star Michael B. Jordan as the son of Apollo Creed.
Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa.
Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky (Stallone) down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo-the fierce rival who became his closest friend. Agreeing to take him on, Rocky trains the young fighter, even as the former champ is battling an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring.
With Rocky in his corner, it isn’t long before Adonis gets his own shot at the title…but can he develop not only the drive but also the heart of a true fighter, in time to get into the ring?
“Creed” also stars Tessa Thompson (“Selma,” “Dear White People”) as Bianca, a local singer-songwriter who becomes involved with Adonis; Phylicia Rashad (Lifetime’s “Steel Magnolias”) as Mary Anne Creed, Apollo’s widow; and English pro boxer and former three-time ABA Heavyweight Champion Anthony Bellew as boxing champ “Pretty” Ricky Conlan.
Coogler directs from a screenplay he wrote with Aaron Covington, based on characters from the “Rocky” series written by Sylvester Stallone. The film is being produced by Robert Chartoff, Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, Kevin King Templeton and Sylvester Stallone, with Nicholas Stern executive producing.
Joining Coogler behind the scenes are director of photography Maryse Alberti (“The Wrestler”) and costume designers Antoinette Messam (“Orphan”) and Emma Potts (“127 Hours”), as well as his “Fruitvale Station” team: editors Michael P. Shawver and Claudia Castello; production designer Hannah Beachler; and composer Ludwig Göransson.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures present, in association with New Line Cinema, a Chartoff Winkler Production, “Creed.” Opening on November 25, 2015, the film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. I don't get why people think the trailer spoiled the movie. I actually ended up with more questions! Does Rocky die? Does creed win the fight? How did Paulie die? Where's Rocky's son? Why did the chickens got slower!?
You have to remember that Sylvester's real son, who was his son in the movie, died a couple years back

I'm pretty sure it never crossed people's minds the chances of Rocky dying until they showed that scene.
This is what Rocky is meant to be, not just a boxing but a movie about life's struggles and how people have the will never to give up no matter what, with the back drop of boxing, this trailer looks to me like they are approaching it the right way.

When I was a kid I watched the rocky box set to the point the VHS's were wore out. Seriously It's a story that will never get old or even drift out of my mind over time. The story of a overlooked champ coming from nothing is just so inspirational and riveting that not a soul can look away. God bless Silvester Stallone for coming up with the first film. I KNOW it has maid an impact on thousands of peoples lives weather they be fighters or not.
Hope this is the start of a new series and that a new generation can experience something similar to the Rocky movies except have it be more relatable to them and their new environments. It's been 30 years after all.

This movie was INCREDIBLE. Saw it twice already...cannot believe how much I loved it. Picked up both soundtracks too! The song soundtrack and the musical score. These are without question the best remixes of original music I have ever heard. Soundtrack front to back has been my playlist in the gym since I got it a few days ago.

As a HUGE fan of the Rocky series, I HATED the idea of another Rocky movie.
I was left with the taste of Rocky V for 15 years. I knew was amped for Rocky Balboa and was so glad that Stallone came back to end the story the right way. Rocky Balboa was the perfect end to the story. We didnt need another Rocky V to ruin the legacy of the series and to ruin Rocky Balboa's place as the perfect end to the series.
I am so glad to have been wrong. Better than Rocky Balboa and the best Rocky film since the first 2.

All I'm hoping is that he doesn't win the fight at the end. Otherwise it's just another predictable "started from the bottom now I'm at the top" type boxing story that's been seen a million times and the only reason it'll stand out is as a spin off of Rocky. Make this special, make him learn that it's not all about winning, it's about being able to take on your demons and go against the odds. That's what the original Rocky was about, not just winning.

If Creed didn't win then in my eyes not only would it be believable but you could manufacture a much more intelligent and enticing story because everyone will expect him to win because he's Creed's child and therefore the audience will expect him to win because he's Creed's son, the fact that he doesn't will entice you more into his story, rather than just watching 30 seconds of the movie and thinking "yeah, he's going to win" and then coming back and 2 hours later it's like "well, yeah...he won...big surprise", I understand story but if you're wanting to make a story special than at least be different, how many boxing movies have we seen where a guy fights against the odds and wins in the end of the first/only? Basically EVERY BOXING MOVIE EVER besides Rocky
Either outcome is kind of a no-win scenario for the film.... If Creed wins, then critics will say it's just "another boxing film"... if he loses, then it'll be compared to the first "Rocky"..... the journey to the fight has to be compelling. That's what will decide the film's success.
and plus the ending doesn't look spoiled... you see him take hits, and dish hits, and be cocky on the ring.... I didn't see a ref raise his arm in victory...

Not the boxing but the hidden lessons in the Rocky movies have guided me in some way in my life , i grew up with Rocky , was sad in my thirties when Stallone announced Rocky Balboa was his final movie and now being 40 i'm happy as a kid that he is back.Many have laughed with Stallone but i have great respect for him since Rocky 's life has been a guideline in mine , Thanks Sylvester for all the hidden wisdom of life , the older i get the more i see your plan.

man my man Michael B. Jordan did his thing in this one, hell everyone did. Though it did leave some questions in between it, hope we get a creed 2. Fantastic movie I recommend everyone to watch it twice
My father had a stroke ten years ago. He my rock . He couldn’t walk he could talk for 6 months. He got strength by the grace of god he got strength back in his legs. He said to me you need to fight in life when your broken.
The scene where Creed was running with the motorcycles then shouting and raising his hands had me all pumped!

A lot of folks just either overlooked that detail because of the fact that originally MBJ was supposed to be Apollo's grandson and then they changed him to be his son and that overshadowed the plot about Rocky may die in this movie.

+Bobby Faison yeah stallone always has these kinds of easter eggs for boxing fans in all the rocky movies: frazier in rocky, duran in rocky 2. don't think there were any cameos in 3 and 4 though, which is kind of good i guess since 4 was just over the top. 5 had morrison as the bad guy, and rocky balboa had tarver with a cameo by tyson. but creed is definitely the one with the most easter eggs from the trailer alone

One of the best trailers ever, so much emotions. What a great performance by MBJ in these movies, and what is primed to be a fantastic ending to the trilogy, because Creed III looks like the real thing.

I believe that this film is much better then a remake in that it brings back Boxing movies without ruining the original Rockies.

This movie was just - what the hell, I have no words that do it any justice. Everything Stallone put put there worked like magic : 1) Rocky a lost soul, with no one and all his family gone, adopting as a defacto son apollo´s son 2) Rocky finding meaning after Paulie´s death by taking up the mantle of his mentor and father figure Micky, 3) Giving back like Micky to a de facto dead beat and make him what he truely was - a champion, 4) Honoring his best friend and comrade in the ring Apollo Creed, and paying him back with Apllo´s son as Apollo did for him - teach his son what Apollo taught him in boxing , 4) the drama of boxing typical of Rocky movies,

I saw it twice already... im 31 now and i been watching rocky since i can remember. i can probably recite every line to every movie, and i was so excited about this movie specially when i found out who director was and who was going to be in it and play creeds son.i was also nervous on how it would play out. Well like i said i saw it twice already and its an amazing amazing movie ...the director nailed it from the training ,to the fight seens, to the story line everything was beyond my expectations thank you so much for giving us big rocky fans what we long waited for.. i cant wait for the sequels in this fantastic series great job all around!!! Hahah cant wait to watch it again GREAT movie
The feels 😫😫😫 I love Stallone and I love every single Rocky films. 14 years old, so glad my parents made me watch all the movies. I even liked Rocky V. This trailer is just giving me the feels, oh my god, why won't this movie come out already?!?!!!

+wizzzer1337 Him and Clubber Lang are both in it....they get married to each other in fact, and the final scene is Rocky, the Creeds attending the wedding and everyone making amends for the past....Drago breaks down crying, explaining to Adonis Creed that his closeted homosexually made him such a savage man in the past, and how sorry he is for killing Apollo. It's very moving

Rocky 1, 2, 3, and 4 were the only good ones. Creed was really good too but I wasn't counting it

Creed will indeed be something to see once its out. Continuity, passion and continuing a legacy of the 'Rocky' character!
