Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan & Abrams, features a cast including actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. They will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

The fact that I still get tears watching this trailer even after this trilogy just went off the rails shows just how good the marketing for this movie was
It's not just the marketing. This movie was actually pretty great. It set up so many interesting storylines. This trilogy would've been great if they expanded on those set ups instead of going in a different direction. Seriously, this trilogy had so much potential but it all got wasted

In hindsight, there were too many mystery boxes for me in this movie, and the fact that almost none of these were solved during the entire trilogy really dampens my enjoyment of the movie.
Another thing is that they basically reset the galaxy to a state similar to the one in ANH, including regressing Han's character. Let's face it: TFA is basically a bad remake of ANH.
But all in all, it's still the movie I enjoy the most out of the trilogy. It's still the most watchable one.

Daniel Rivera Yeah. As a kid I loved it because it was star wars but as an adult I could see how George Lucas wanted to tell this story but it just wasn't told in a way entertained me. I mean, this was Anakin Skywalker! The man who was the best star pilot in the galaxy, the best of friends and strongest Jedi. Who would later become a Hollywood icon, Darth Vader. Instead we got an immature person who can't make decisions. Oh, well. Its over now.

@@WesMordine As this has been longgggggg settled, its his conversation with Leia from Return of the Jedi in the Ewok village. You can easily tell based not only on the dialogue, but on on how young Hamill sounds versus how he sounds today.
@@Sunburn2007 the audio is not new. But the way its rearranged is. It mentions his father, himself, his sister, AND "You". It is NOT in the way it was said in ROTJ.
@@WesMordine Obviously its been re-arranged, otherwise using it as it was spoken would have ruined the trailer lol. As for the "you have it too", Hamill said in an interview back when the trailer was released they re-recorded portions of this to make it fit the needs of the trailer. But Hamill unequivocally stated this was the convo with Leia.

Sarcasm out of the way, I was referring to both the state of the fandom and the quality of the films. Take note of the word “also,” in my response to your comment. I would also like to point out that no sides were in the right, Rian Johnson acting like a brat certainly didn’t help. Both fans and LucasFilm were guilty in what happened after.
Crazy how this trailer at one moment in my life had me so excited that my head wanted to explode, to now just a reminder of disappointment, sorrow and grief to the point where my head wants to explode.
Agree...The real insult was finding out that they didn’t actually plan anything or have answers for the questions raised in Force Awakens. Rian Johnson kind of accidentally confirmed it on the Last Jedi commentary, saying he met with Lawrence Kasdan like once and was basically given free reign to write anything he wanted.
It just led to so much inconsistency and disappointment...

PlastKladd Some DVDs claim to have the original theatrical screening on a bonus disc. I have them, but there are few noteworthy deviations, like Han Solo's scene with Jabba the Hutt in episode 4. And yes, I do mean 4.

The opening shot of this trailer is just breathtaking. The X-wing that toppled a Star Destroyer. A metaphor frozen in sand.

Still torn if I believe Avengers 2 or Star Wars 7 will be highest grossing this year... at about 60% SW, 40% Avengers. Really depends how well it does in initial screenings and reviews.

Marlon Bosch Well, if we're taken out of the carbonite at the beginning of December, it should wear off by the 18th. It only took Han around a day or two to regain his eyesight completely.
