I own a 23 Tesla Model X Plaid and a Fisker Ocean One. As a pure driving vehicle, the Fisker wins hands down. Comfort, ride, practicality. Perfect daily driver. Keep in mind though, the Fisker is still in the early adopter phase. In Hollywood mode, (when screen swivels landscape) entertainment options are better than Tesla (minus the video games -not a gamer myself-). Some things still need tweaking in the vehicle though, and some things just need to flat out be added with over the air updates (hill hold assist, dynamic cruise control, etc), which have already started coming through.

Competitors? The key is a few things: charging and charging network, active and passive safety, OTA updates, future proof issues, autonomy. EV reviews really need to prioritize these key factors which are what owners who haven't had an EV learn they should have considered instead of looks, doo dads, feelz and niftyness.
I feel Fisker scores high in all of those fields: Regular OTA upgrades are slowly turning the Ocean into a very impressive vehicle. For the charging network Fisker has signed a deal to use the Tesla charging network starting in 2025.
Maybe it's just as cool as you say. But where are you gonna get it serviced conveniently. I think these obscure companies need to tie up with some of the majors ( tough to do nfortunately) so that they have a presence in a credible dealership even though they are all crooks.
Isn't Fisker doing the whole mobile servicing at your place. EVs have minimal actual servicing. Like most is over air firmware updates. Tire changes which any 3rd party shop could. I guess the regional service center, will handle actual serious recalls or repairs. yeah that wouldn't be fun or cheap to get too.
I’ve had my tech come to my house 2x already. First was to check on a few pieces damaged during delivery, the second time was to replace 1 faulty seatbelt tensioner and to update my software. That could have been performed OTA but since he was at my house already, he offered to install it. Super happy with my mobile Master Tech here in the PNW!
Great car for a multi millionaire until something breaks. The car then gets moved into the back of the garage to collect household junk until it is sold at a garage sale along with the rest of the junk that it collected as is sat idle. :)
Did you have to promise not to drive the Ocean at speed on curving roads, and not to take it anywhere that an SUV should be able to go, like a dirt road? I as because we are six months in on deliveries, about twenty posted "reviews" in too, not a second of the Ocean driving except on a straight paved road.
If you were in the market for an EV. Would you buy this or do you think you would wait for the Porsche Macan Turbo EV. Of course the Porsche will more than likely be at least 10-15 grand more depending on how you spec. I need a new car soon! But I can wait for the Macan EV, if it hits dealerships in the first quarter of 2024 as expected. I know obviously you haven't had a chance to drive the Macan EV. But just wondering based on your impressions of the ocean. Would you wait to test drive the Porsche or just go straight for the Ocean. Thanks in advance. Anyone else who sees this comment, please feel free to weigh in. I would also appreciate your feedback. P.s. I know there are a lot of other great choices, but I'm only choosing between these two.
I own the Fisker Ocean and luv it. I've owned other German cars previous to the Ocean... The ride quality of the Fisker is better IMO. Steering is tight, very solid feeling with a low center of gravity, feels athletic and fast. Also, luv the unique design characteristics. Fisker is routinely setting up test drives throughout the U.S. I would take a look at their website to see if you can drive one.
I love to eat in the car, so the tray is going to be wonderful. Any idiot that puts the tray in the way of the steering wheel, shouldn't be driving. As for storage, near none of the EV's have any appreciable storage. Seems like a SUV type car with folding down seats solve that problem. I am not sure how they are going to put in roof racks but that would give you more storage for traveling. Then again, what are we really talking about with storage? Suitcases for that two or three vacations a year? Rent an Expedition. lol
Yes it’s a beautiful design but Fisker is 1 billion in debt and barely surviving. They have no service center and software is way behind other manufactures. Looks isn’t everything. Don’t fall for them beauty and options it offers. It’s the support and backbone of the company that’s important. That’s why no one is buying this car. Tons in inventory and on the used market.
That "California experience" package = badly maintained roads full of potholes and living in fear of getting your car broken into. A real plus Mr. Fisker.
hmm FWD 2,040 lbs of towing capacity vs AWD 4,000 lbs. Very cool looking and designed well car. Wish these reviewers would show charge port and charge information, not just EV range. searching for info I see the Ocean AWD has 113-kWh battery with maximum DC Charge Rate - up to 200kW, J1772 plug. which kinda bites as everything is switching to Tesla NACS. The real pain with EVs if not just using from home garage to around town, is road tripping and dealing with EV charging stations. While most places within 50-100 miles of freeway & town, there now is some type of charge place. If isn't Tesla charging, then its nightmare of blocked, broken, or slow chargers. Each needing their own app and sometimes a converter plug. EVs aren't equal in slow and fast charging. Car software helps or hurts with locating and preparing to charge. Understanding the car's battery type, what temp ranges it needs for optimal fast level 2 or 3 charging. The car's battery's "charge curve" for optimal time for x range. Trying to charge over 60-80% is so much slower and even much slower to 100% is real EV education majority know nothing about. The solar panel is neat concept as ideally could give 1-4 miles of range a day in good sunshine, which could have minimum use camping. Not really much in getting the car to drive anywhere. I guess if you left the Ocean at the outside airport parking for most of week at low battery, you get back with enough to find a possible near by charge site. Better then not having anything. hmm. At $60-70kish that seems a toy for the very well off rich.
Fisker has announced that they are switching to the NACS plug. Given that Henriq does not see eye to eye with Elon, he is putting his customers first; even though technically NACS is technically managed by SAE now.
@@Flying-Fox19 I'm in Ohio, their site only has dozen so top end "Fisker Ocean Extreme" or "Fisker Ocean One (Launch Edition)" most in Georgia all for $67-72,000 USD. It's certainly a neat looking. I wondering if Fisker will switch to NACS, as almost every other company has. image it will take year or two before they have autos with that plug. I guess they are.

Me, and i friggin love it. It was worth the near 2 years since i made my deposit and each software update makes the car that much better and reliable. I can’t wait until the remainder of bugs are eliminated in subsequent OTA’s. Meanwhile, its the most unique looking EV on the road that draws compliments everywhere i take it.
@BlackDeath12345 material, look, drivebality, comfort, handling, better steering, components, attention to detail and user friendly details, ease of steering ( comes with handling), my tesla feels like VW now, it is built for mass production, rush to produce and public car with cheap interior and exterior. It is like VW vs Mercedes E class or BMW as interior and outside design and feel of materials. Accelaration about the same but with Fisker driving is much more fun. I had software problems with Tesla as well in the past, so it is always a working process, after Fisker's OTA I believe that the company is making necessary improvements as well. I should thank probably Magna for it. When you build G-wagon etc. I think you know one or two things about demanding customers and quality.
I have to admit it does have some very nice convenience features such as the one button up/down windows. And its the only EV so far where you can actually still open the sunroof, and its a wide opening too.
Pros: panoramic sunroof that actually opens really wide One touch down/up windows Cons: Material are extremely cheap looking plastics The Logo should go on the grill, or the front, not the hood Hate the name on the roof and the ugly industrial revealed strips. Seats are really ugly. Nobody wants designer seats in their car -- its not a museum. People need comfortable ergonomic seats in a car. The infotainment display is overwhelming No mention of a fronk or range.
No frunk, hood is bolted. The interior is far far more plush than a Tesla (been in many). My Ocean interior is extremely comfortable, i have the same color combo as this demo vehicle and it is tasteful, quiet as can be, super comfortable on 200 mile 1 way drives and easy to clean. The ergonomics of the seat and steering wheel/cockpit are great- you dont need a bunch of chrome trim or gaudy colors and badges like other domestic OEM EV offerings. You know the second you sit in it that the car was designed by a “car guy” and not some committee that never had a car poster on their bedroom wall growing up. Range is a little low on mine but as i just took delivery and car is not broken in, nor have i learned the best way to maximize my efficiency yet, I fully expect it to improve. Also, temps have been in the low/mid 30’s here on most of my drives so that knocks it back, but i can reasonably say that with a little less “pedal mashing” on the highway, i can easily expect 300+ miles on a road trip as i am trending up each successive trip i take.
I have sport on order, but will see if i will go ahead with order when time comes, or just cancel, there are some high fees on this car especially delivery fee about $3k and range is a bit disappointing for sport about 230 miles now from already low 250 mikes originally. Car is almost $47k, in base trim without any options,

Meanwhile, its the most unique looking EV on the road that draws compliments everywhere i take it.
Lol until it depreciates to $0 and your screwed…
Yes to Lauren, but NO to EV's......😡
Why are you watching, stupid?
Wow. Another electric car I would never buy....lol
I own both Tesla and Fisker now. Fisker is definitely better and my preferred ride right now.
@@FSGallipoli why?
Many of the items and things that you say are incorrect. You should really get your facts straight. For instance, there is no glove box in the front.
Pros:
panoramic sunroof that actually opens really wide
One touch down/up windows
Cons:
Material are extremely cheap looking plastics
The Logo should go on the grill, or the front, not the hood
Hate the name on the roof and the ugly industrial revealed strips.
Seats are really ugly. Nobody wants designer seats in their car -- its not a museum. People need comfortable ergonomic seats in a car.
The infotainment display is overwhelming
No mention of a fronk or range.
It is still a bug fest and is functional and logical limited as hell!!!
Check resale before buying any EV !!! Drop like stone . LEASE ONLY most the EVs will go broke and so will Ford
Sage advice.
Horse carriage owners used to say the same thing for ICE vehicles. And now ICE owners to EV. My horse lives 30 years, your car will be rust ball 😂
Why would you lease a car with very little maintenance and is expected to last between 300k-500k miles.
I’m sure you’re right Caesar but - f*ck it! I’m ALL in and loving it!!
Caesar is obviously not good with money.
I have sport on order, but will see if i will go ahead with order when time comes, or just cancel, there are some high fees on this car especially delivery fee about $3k and range is a bit disappointing for sport about 230 miles now from already low 250 mikes originally. Car is almost $47k, in base trim without any options,
What to do then is buy a Tesla and you can have the same car as everyone else.
@@TheEVGuy-rx9ju I guess you're right I'll may get new highland that's coming next year. It's updated
Looks great .great charging infrastructure. Cannot go wrong with that one. All others I may regret
@@tonyn3227 I wonder if it's named after the Highlands of my wonderful Scotland 🏴
@@TheEVGuy-rx9ju Yes. Scottish highlands are beautiful. So is the new model 3. That's why they named highland model 3. Be proud and buy one too
@@tonyn3227 From your posts you really sound like a Tesla fanboy and I suppose that that is the reason why you are criticising the Fisker...
THERE ARE NO FISKERS FOR SALE!!!!!!!
Hard pass. It’s a rolling gimmick.
Based on what experience?
Paid trolls and Elon fanboys are at work. Ok bot
It's always a laugh. "Someone has an opinion I don't like" = pad troll or bot. And of course, the stretch to attach Elon Musk to it. OK...sure. Please post more.@@FSGallipoli
Still waiting on what experience you have to call it a rolling gimmick?
@ce2flaco how about you post more about what experience you have troll. You dont have an opinion, you have a bias and that makes you a troll. Opinion with lack of knowledge and bias spreading rumor or fud. You are the definition of a troll. I own both Tesla and Fisker and I can tell you with my own EXPERIENCE that Fisker is much better and fun to drive vehicle.
