Jason Momoa's aqauman is the best live action iteration of aqauman we've had because he's based on the 90's version. It was his movie that helped give Warner Brothers a huge come back after the disaster of the first justice league film. And it was Jason Momoa's confidence, charisma and humor that turned aqauman into a lovable and respectable character. He showed DC fans that aqauman can actually be pretty badass, he is the best aqauman DC can't just recast him.

However, I disagree with your opinion that none of these actors are good enough to not be recasted. Zachary Levi and Margot Robbie are Shazam and Harley Quinn in my opinion. They are perfect casting choices and I’ve become incredibly attached to their characters.
Agree, and with that, James Gunn loved working with Margot Robbie, she'll stick around for sure. And I highly doubt they'll just release Shazam! 2 and Blue Beetle for just throwing them away. Aquaman makes more sense as Jason gets a chance far more compelling to himself and his dream of being Lobo, also they were probably going to recast Mera anyways so at that point just hard reset for the Aquaman franchise.

It is a possibility that The Flash can technically change everything that can lead to the new “reboot” like how I see if that all the films will take place during the Flash and we can see the change occur at the end of Aquaman 2
I kinda doubt they'll recast everyone maybe a handful like Flash and Batman but I had the feeling that like Marvel has been doing with the X-Men cast in the MCU, they're picking and choosing who to recast and who not to based on the quality of their performance. And to me that makes a lot of sense Henry Cavill has been the face of Superman and therefore the DCEU for some time now, and they'd be throwing away a lot of brand recognition just for the sake of superman being played by a different person in this reboot
I hope this is true. Everyone else should stay in their role expect for Batman and flash which wouldn’t even be confusing for the general audience since they could just make an announcement about the recasting for them.
I'm sure Blue Beetle is safe, Gunn promoted the movie so that goes to show maybe some of them will be safe but pretty much half of the main DCEU are getting either re-tooled or recasted. Ezra, Amber, Batfleck, Ray Fisher and now Momoa (as he wanted to do Lobo even before being casted as Aquaman) are out of the old DCEU picture.
I don't think X-Men are comparable because all the returning X-Men actors will do so as multiversal variants. Marvel will still almost certainly recast Professor X, Wolverine, etc. for their main universe version. Though I think this is likely to be the approach Marvel will take with incorporating the Netflix shows into the MCU proper. They kept Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio, but they'll probably recast some others.
I’m actually glad Momoa won’t be Aquaman anymore. He should have been Lobo in the first place. He literally looks just like Lobo and nothing like the comics’ Aquaman. I enjoyed the first movie, but I never got immersed in the film because Momoa didn’t feel like Aquaman to me; looks wise or writing wise. Gunn knows comics and I trust his vision.
You mentioned how if Lobo was missing, it wouldn't make a difference and that Aquaman is a more important character. That's just it, we already don't have Lobo and so, yeah, nothing changes - it's WHEN he gets added is when he becomes important and things change. Lobo is a more important character to be introduced than it is for Aquaman to get another movie because Aquaman is a mainstay of the Justice League. In the next decade, we'll have another man cast as Aquaman in live action, whether it's a blockbuster movie or a CW show, point is, who's gonna give us the representation of the fan favorites that are under the surface like Lobo. Black Adam & its' spin off are in development by the Rock's production company not by Warner Brothers/DC/Discovery. Most people just assumed it was WBD, reading is fundamental.
The kicker is that the theatrical cut of Justice League showed that Cavill can be a phenomenal Superman. I’d be excited to see him return, if not as Superman then at least as someone else.

If I was incharge of the DCEU I would just use the flashpoint movie to reset everything, that way you could do a hard reboot for some characters and a soft reboot for others along with recasting some characters and not others

DC cinematic universe is non existent at this time. None of the movies actually share a universe and every time a movie is announced from DC, it gets canceled. Clearly Warner Bros. doesn't want a cinematic universe.
Henry Cavill is one of the best charismatic, stoic gentleman that is living of all time. Everytime I see him I see my older brother, my younger brother. My father named me Clark because people would call me Superman or reminisce after Clark Gable. Every day of my life I have to convince people of my name. Henry Cavill has convinced that my name would change everything around me. This man, is the embodiment of family and heroism. I’m proud to be named Clark every time I see them say my name. I refuse to believe that there will ever be someone better to make the name Clark or Superman more real. Science, religion, nature. magic. This man connects all of us.
They well yeah could restart the universe but just keep Ben Affleck as Batman because he is a great Batman and has potential to be explored more in depth than he was before. The Batman I think should still be it’s own universe and have it’s own trilogy and spin off shows and just have that as the franchise on its own.

Here’s the thing, you don’t have to recast Shazam! think about it…we never met any other superheroes. Did we see Superman NO WE DID NOT…all we know is that the Justice League exists. We never officially see them.
Honestly it’s probably a good idea to leave out a lot of the current heavy hitters for at least being the bulk majority of our time in DC. We’ve already seen 10 different Batman’s portrayed by 15 different actors. Same with superman. To be introduced to a new universe with some lesser-known’s and even just keep some people out entirely for a good while would probably be a good idea not only because of the massive power scale but also because of saturation of said characters.
The lesser known heroes always are better to use though, look how marvel did it. I was seriously the only person I knew who knew what Iron Man was before 2008. That series only did good when it came out, afterwards it was lesser known, somewhat same with Green Arrow. The lesser known heroes also are better to start off with, because you don’t have the comic geeks that constantly compare the movies to the comics (unlike me who just read and watches and enjoys both).
Also, underdog stories sell even irl, unknown comic book characters that get the spotlight can end up really good because for them to be there, there has to be passion behind all of the flashy stuff.

Then they can do Blue Beetle with a Robert Pattinson cameo at the end of the movie with Batman saying to Blue Beetle that he want to study his scrab. (we gat to back to it later) to began to connect the things. then in The Batman 2 we have a Superman cameo (played by Henry Cavill again cause why not. the fans love him, they cannot do an entire campaign saying that Cavill is back just saying that isn't true. and they can just say that Superman is active for some years before Batman appears) then a Superman movie where Superman fights Lobo played by Jason Momoa. other movies about characters more reconizable characters like Wonder Woman, Aquaman and The Flash played by new actors. then a Blue Beetle 2 who like i said this movie would be important cause will introduce The Reach. Blue Beetle with the help of Batman, Robin and Booster Gold (Batman and BB will have a relationship like in The Brave and the Bold cartoon, Robin will be in the 2nd Batman movie and Booster just SHOULD be in a Blue Beetle movie) will defeat The Reach but the Reach is still interesed on Earth and this brings us to the Justice League movie where they united for the first time fighting The Reach (formed by Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Green Lantern with Blue Beetle and Booster Gold as reserve members then can they do a Titans movie and a Justice League International or L.A.W/Sentinels movie with those interation of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold)

It's been stated MANY times that Matt Reeves DOESN'T want The Batman to connect to some bigger universe, he doesn't want Superman or Wonder Women, he just wants Batman and Batman related characters, also many people don't want The Batman to start a big DC universe, just get a new Batman actor and leave Robert and Matt alone.

Funny enough, Peter Safran was a producer on Shazam 1 and 2, and James Gunn directed TSS and Peacemaker. If Gunn really is gonna do a full reboot, you can't blame the guy. There's just too much baggage and instability to work with. And a lot, if not most, of said baggage revolves around the core characters of the DC universe. If I were in his shoes, I sure as hell wouldn't want to have to clean up a huge decade-long mess that was made by a completely different team. You can't build a house on an unstable foundation. If we do get a full reboot, best case scenario we get a Crisis or Flashpoint type movie to give the current universe a proper sendoff, and maybe they can use that as a means of carrying the few things that actually worked (Shazam, Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, Peacemaker) over into the new universe. If the DCEU just abruptly ends with Aquaman 2 with no fanfare... man that would just be sad.

I don’t understand why they would drop Man of Steel 2. You’ve done nothing with Superman since Justice League 2017. All we got recently was a cameo in Black Adam, and that’s it. Henry Cavil deserves a second chance at this character. But WB doesn’t care about him.
Let's look at it this way. Warner Bros doing this could mean that they are finally trying to step up and try to do something about the terrible cinematic universe that the DCEU has become. Let's face it. Marvel movies (phases 1-3) were ridiculously successful. If DC changes, hopefully it's for the better. Let's also hope that they use underutilized characters such as Zatanna, Batgirl and so on.
Maybe one day they'll learn to finish what has already been started before rebooting and alienating. I've taken DC over MARVEL for years but with the whole Snyderverse situation and the loss of some of the best deserving actors, I'm not sure how much longer I can side with DC. They have so much potential and yet they choose the easy way out. Gunn better know what he's doing because without DC, there's only the MCU and I refuse to watch She-Hulk.

You really don't need Aquaman for a DC universe, I have no idea where you're getting that idea from. The JL cartoons had Aquaman in like 2 episodes - he was in no way integral to the story of the larger universe.

Umm Robert Downey JR, Mark Ruffalo we’re in there early 40’s when they were cast as Hulk and Iron Man. Jackman is in his mid 50’s and he’s back playing Wolverine in the next Deadpool movie, which by they way is played by Reynolds who is 47. Henry Cavill is younger than all of them. Also do we need another younger Superman film? That concept has been done to death already.

I'm both sad and excited. The reasons for this are pretty obvious, they DCEU is being reset to match the comics more or to atleast undo the damage that's been done from earlier films, which is honestly a good thing, but the same thing applies to the actors. They're likely getting recasted with actors who look a bit more like the og characters, and the movies are being canceled so a new series can begin. As much as I loved the idea snyderverse, its kind of Zack's fault for starting off the dceu this way even though he didnt know that his series would get cancelled and become the start to the current dceu.

And to me that makes a lot of sense Henry Cavill has been the face of Superman and therefore the DCEU for some time now, and they'd be throwing away a lot of brand recognition just for the sake of superman being played by a different person in this reboot
I hope this is true. Everyone else should stay in their role expect for Batman and flash which wouldn’t even be confusing for the general audience since they could just make an announcement about the recasting for them.
I'm sure Blue Beetle is safe, Gunn promoted the movie so that goes to show maybe some of them will be safe but pretty much half of the main DCEU are getting either re-tooled or recasted. Ezra, Amber, Batfleck, Ray Fisher and now Momoa (as he wanted to do Lobo even before being casted as Aquaman) are out of the old DCEU picture.
I don't think X-Men are comparable because all the returning X-Men actors will do so as multiversal variants. Marvel will still almost certainly recast Professor X, Wolverine, etc. for their main universe version.
Though I think this is likely to be the approach Marvel will take with incorporating the Netflix shows into the MCU proper. They kept Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio, but they'll probably recast some others.
I'm interested to see Giancarlo Esposito playing Professor X. He has the demeanor to portray him.

I’m actually glad Momoa won’t be Aquaman anymore. He should have been Lobo in the first place. He literally looks just like Lobo and nothing like the comics’ Aquaman. I enjoyed the first movie, but I never got immersed in the film because Momoa didn’t feel like Aquaman to me; looks wise or writing wise. Gunn knows comics and I trust his vision.
You mentioned how if Lobo was missing, it wouldn't make a difference and that Aquaman is a more important character. That's just it, we already don't have Lobo and so, yeah, nothing changes - it's WHEN he gets added is when he becomes important and things change. Lobo is a more important character to be introduced than it is for Aquaman to get another movie because Aquaman is a mainstay of the Justice League. In the next decade, we'll have another man cast as Aquaman in live action, whether it's a blockbuster movie or a CW show, point is, who's gonna give us the representation of the fan favorites that are under the surface like Lobo. If I was incharge of the DCEU I would just use the flashpoint movie to reset everything, that way you could do a hard reboot for some characters and a soft reboot for others along with recasting some characters and not others
The original casting of Cavill, Gadot, and Momoa was incredible. The only person they needed to recast was Batman. I'm very sad they're changing this.

DC cinematic universe is non existent at this time. None of the movies actually share a universe and every time a movie is announced from DC, it gets canceled. Clearly Warner Bros. doesn't want a cinematic universe.

Here’s the thing, you don’t have to recast Shazam! think about it…we never met any other superheroes. Did we see Superman NO WE DID NOT…all we know is that the Justice League exists. We never officially see them.
Honestly it’s probably a good idea to leave out a lot of the current heavy hitters for at least being the bulk majority of our time in DC.
We’ve already seen 10 different Batman’s portrayed by 15 different actors. Same with superman. To be introduced to a new universe with some lesser-known’s and even just keep some people out entirely for a good while would probably be a good idea not only because of the massive power scale but also because of saturation of said characters.
The lesser known heroes always are better to use though, look how marvel did it. I was seriously the only person I knew who knew what Iron Man was before 2008. That series only did good when it came out, afterwards it was lesser known, somewhat same with Green Arrow. The lesser known heroes also are better to start off with, because you don’t have the comic geeks that constantly compare the movies to the comics (unlike me who just read and watches and enjoys both).
Also, underdog stories sell even irl, unknown comic book characters that get the spotlight can end up really good because for them to be there, there has to be passion behind all of the flashy stuff.

Then they can do Blue Beetle with a Robert Pattinson cameo at the end of the movie with Batman saying to Blue Beetle that he want to study his scrab. (we gat to back to it later) to began to connect the things. then in The Batman 2 we have a Superman cameo (played by Henry Cavill again cause why not. the fans love him, they cannot do an entire campaign saying that Cavill is back just saying that isn't true. and they can just say that Superman is active for some years before Batman appears) then a Superman movie where Superman fights Lobo played by Jason Momoa. other movies about characters more reconizable characters like Wonder Woman, Aquaman and The Flash played by new actors. then a Blue Beetle 2 who like i said this movie would be important cause will introduce The Reach. Blue Beetle with the help of Batman, Robin and Booster Gold (Batman and BB will have a relationship like in The Brave and the Bold cartoon, Robin will be in the 2nd Batman movie and Booster just SHOULD be in a Blue Beetle movie) will defeat The Reach but the Reach is still interesed on Earth and this brings us to the Justice League movie where they united for the first time fighting The Reach (formed by Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Green Lantern with Blue Beetle and Booster Gold as reserve members then can they do a Titans movie and a Justice League International or L.A.W/Sentinels movie with those interation of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold)

That pretty much leaves us with Shazam and The Suicide Squad/Peacemaker as the only active parts of this franchise that are actually consistently stable. Funny enough, Peter Safran was a producer on Shazam 1 and 2, and James Gunn directed TSS and Peacemaker.
If Gunn really is gonna do a full reboot, you can't blame the guy. There's just too much baggage and instability to work with. And a lot, if not most, of said baggage revolves around the core characters of the DC universe. If I were in his shoes, I sure as hell wouldn't want to have to clean up a huge decade-long mess that was made by a completely different team. You can't build a house on an unstable foundation.
If we do get a full reboot, best case scenario we get a Crisis or Flashpoint type movie to give the current universe a proper sendoff, and maybe they can use that as a means of carrying the few things that actually worked (Shazam, Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, Peacemaker) over into the new universe. If the DCEU just abruptly ends with Aquaman 2 with no fanfare... man that would just be sad.

Maybe one day they'll learn to finish what has already been started before rebooting and alienating. I've taken DC over MARVEL for years but with the whole Snyderverse situation and the loss of some of the best deserving actors, I'm not sure how much longer I can side with DC. They have so much potential and yet they choose the easy way out. Gunn better know what he's doing because without DC, there's only the MCU and I refuse to watch She-Hulk.

The reasons for this are pretty obvious, they DCEU is being reset to match the comics more or to atleast undo the damage that's been done from earlier films, which is honestly a good thing, but the same thing applies to the actors. They're likely getting recasted with actors who look a bit more like the og characters, and the movies are being canceled so a new series can begin.
As much as I loved the idea snyderverse, its kind of Zack's fault for starting off the dceu this way even though he didnt know that his series would get cancelled and become the start to the current dceu.
