- The DCEU is coming to an end as James Gunn and Peter Safran take over the reigns of the Kevin Feige role for DC Studios. Big changed are happening and rumours are constantly bubbling up but in this video I'll be talking about everything we Actually know about this universe.
When Matt Reeves took on The Batman he decided to go with a younger version of the character. And now he creating an entire universe around that version. Todd Phillips made a Joker movie that didn’t include Batman which people thought was impossible but it made a billion dollars. So it’s entirely possible to built a movie around a younger version of Superman and use that as springboard for launching lesser known characters.

Jason Momoa as Lobo isn't talked about enough, guys, i don't think you understand how perfect he will be for the role, i always pictured him as lobo but I've never thought that this will turn out true, he looks exactly like the character and he has the same energy, if Lobo gets his own TV show played by Momoa and directed by gunn i usure you it'll be one of the best superhero shows ever.
Thing is that Lobo is a fun character when he pops up every once in a while, but if he's a main recurring character I'd imagine he could get pretty annoying pretty quick

@@henryrutherford-braun9859 and btw i don't think he'll get annoying when you do it right, i thought peacemaker was just not "main character" material when i watched the suicide squad but then his show came out and it was really good, or take deadpool as an example his character is fun when he pops up but he's still a really good character when you give him the spotlight

This new DCU, needs a BATFAMILY. We've never gotten that in live-action. Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Batwoman, Nightwing. They need to do that.

@@jourdonpatron212 Honestly they should have the first Batman movie in this universe be his first adventure with Dick Grayson's Robin. It's a good way to introduce both at the same time, as well as give us something fresh because we haven't seen Robin on screen in 20+ years.

Blue Beetle should be the first movie in this new universe
It’s a bold move but I think it’s better than just starting with Superman or Batman. It’s a character that’s unique and very interesting. I mean Marvel used Iron-Man, a not so popular character at the time, instead of Spider-Man (Basically the face of Marvel) to start their universe. And from what you said about their being references to Superman and The Flash it works because Gunn has stated that this new Superman movie isn’t an origin film and he’s already and established character in the DCU.

I think Ezra will be recast by the end of the movie. You know, to show a multiverse change.
I do think that it was a bit too late to reboot the universe. If it was 2019 or 2020, I would be fully on board with it, but I feel like there’s just too many unanswered questions and things that people were looking forward to at this point in time. If I were him, I’d probably use The Flash movie to transition into a new universe, but I don’t think that’s what he’s gonna do. Still, I hope that Blue Beetle is carried over and becomes the first movie on the universe. Jaime Reyes is my third-favorite DC hero and I have wanted him to get a movie for a long time. Now, it’s happening AND he’s being played by the perfect actor for the role. I NEED to see more of this version after his first movie. Finally, I think that the Reeves universe should’ve just been carried over, but whatever.
Despite all of that, I do still have confidence in what Gunn’s doing. I just don’t think it was the right time. As much as I do like the Snyderverse and wish we could’ve seen more of it, The Suicide Squad is tied with The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Batman for my favorite DC movie, and both of the Guardians of The Galaxy movies are some of my favorite Marvel movies, so I do think that, despite how I feel about the old universe ending, this new universe is probably going to be way better than the old one.
Finally, just calling it the DCU is terrible. The DCU is the comics universe. It should be called the NDCEU (New DCEU) or the DCCU (DC Cinematic Universe).

I think he is using Flash because Cavill is removed from the movie. Gadot is still in it but only for the beginning of the movie because she is going to be recasted too so her finale cameo had to be removed.

I wish Robert Pattinson should be remained as Batman because Robert Pattinson was still great as Batman, but no one can replace him.
Pattinson will stay as Batman but it’s probly gonna be separate from the DCU. They’re gonna recast another Batman for the shared universe DCU that James Gunn is doing. And then Michael Keaton will also stick around to play old Batman that starts training a young Terry McGuiness for a Batman Beyond movie one day
So there will be three Batmans on screen

Im not them but I'd focus on a movie for each justice league member, slowly building them up but keeping them separate in their own respective thing. I think they should only meet up once in a while like I don't need to see Batman and Superman in ten movies like they do with the MCU.
As sad as I as am about the recast, I understand why it's being done, people won't know it's a reboot if you have the exact same actors and they're also avoiding the potential the issue of the actor growing out role by using new fresh actors.

They need to be younger because they are doing what marvel did. A top to bottom long lasting reboot. In ten years a lot of these guys will be in their 50s and we might need new origins
But that’s why you have to recast everyone if you’re going for a full reboot. You can’t just pick and choose. That’s why this whole thing is bs. They easily could’ve just used the Flash movie to soft reboot which meant to keep most of the actors (especially the ones that announced their comebacks) but start over with their stories and move on from what Snyder did. I’m pretty sure that was the original plan too.

I think what James Gunn might have meant by that tweet involving recasting everyone except the Suicide Squad, is that he'll be recasting characters inside the suicide squad along with in the greater DCEU, but he won't be recasting EVERYONE from either side, and that we'll see many faces old and new. I think he meant to keep it vague intentionally though so that people can't flat out know what's going on inside the casting and rebooting parts
i hope zachary levi gets to keep playing shazam. i loved the first movie and he seems like he has a lot of love for the character.

One really long rant and I should know I rant alot 2 the way the Snyderverse was only really fit Batman and he killed people in it 3 why are we making Redhood be Green Lantern I mean I love both characters and he could pull it off but there has to be a better option I mean the voice as good as it is does not fit my favorite character

Yes but the other 4 main league members are actually just as important I mean Green Lantern out sold everyone except Batman and then got a really large role in all the major events. All I'm saying is when you have books with the whole league in them that's impressive and important especially if it happens like 3 times in a row and James Gunn recognizes this and the money poetical again only Batman out sold him at one point

I get why she should be recast, but Gal Gadot should stay because she’s great in the role. I haven’t seen 1984 but her in the first Wonder Woman and both incarnations of the Justice League worked for me
She's passable in the role, but tbh she's a fucking atrocious actor when divorced from Wonder Woman, and going back to that original WW movie after watching literally any of her other performances worsened it for me. I think people often confuse looking like a character for actually playing that character well when it comes to Gal Gadot's performance as Wonder Woman. There are a lot of great cosplayers out there who would also suck if they had to perform as that character in a movie
If Peacemaker S2 is happening and being part of the DCU while S1 had a JUSTICE LEAGUE cameo much more tied to the DCEU than the Shazam! Superman cameo well, it's safe to say they can figure out how to connect the dots for the DCU.
If they do end up giving gal gadot a different role, she would probably be a good choice for zatanna

There’s a growing trend of people are just tired of reboots over and over. More people are just tired of superhero movies.
Enough reboots. We don’t need another joker. Joakim Phoenix’s joker is amazing. The type of joker that majority of people can relate. The teased joker in the recent Batman movie, I’m just tired of it.
How long are they going to keep doing it until they reboot it again? Why can’t we try new characters. Why can’t we have a new canvas with new character? But that’s not going to happen because that won’t sell as much as the OG characters so they keep milking up over and over.

I thought Gunn was going to look over the DCEU and let directors make movies their way. But rebooting the whole thing I'm a little unhappy about that, but interested in seeing where this is going.

DCU can change its name but it’s struggles remain. DCU struggles because all things are Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. This amazing show (Avatar one and two) is the blueprint how you can create spin-offs. The show give other characters room to shine. DCU has shine for three characters only. And for James Gunn to come in with one more adaptation of Superman is missing and opportunity to shine light elsewhere. DCU should debut Stewart and have Superman heavily featured in it.
That is not why the DCEU struggled. Not even close.

This is why DCU is having a problem. Even the casual fan, knows the Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman story. How many times can you keep telling the same story. In World War Two I did this, grand dad we know. DCU doesn’t have to move on from Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, but they have to move forward with other characters. John Stewart debut featuring Superman would be a great film. It would build Stewart, stay true to the Justice League, intro the Green Lanterns and forge and alliance between the Green Lanterns and the Justice League. Earth and Oa would be established, plus the Green Lanterns gives the DCU the universe as a playground. Now Darkseid, Mongul, Despero, the White Martians, Anti-Monitor, all the Lantern corps and magical beings are open, like a video game’s secret character code.
I hope James Gunn eventually pulls from the Multiverse for thr reboot universe. Especially from other show and movie universes that exist

Start with some Solo movies that isn't connected until you make a new phase which is all Justice League and other team up movies and that will make fans too excited to see those characters who doesn't reference each others in their solo movies and shows ( that all of them have different tones) finally meeting each other.

We don't need a direct Superman movie connected to Wonder Woman or Green Lantern until they establish their characters first and we don't need another Batman vs Superman early in this phase. The only thing that needs to be watched sequentially is the big team up movies other than that you will comfortable when you watch their solo projects without making your brain confuse with the events like the MCU when they made Wanda vision connected to Doctor Strange 2.

I’m so excited for a new Dc Universe. I liked most of the old ones but I’d love to see a more consistent version with characters acting like they should.
As a fan of both Marvel and DC, it’s good to see someone taking this on and fixing the glaring issues that DC has had since day 1.

When I heard Gunn is taking over I was super excited, but as more things come out, the less excited I get
I want Batman to be kinda expected like his dealt with Serial Killers and Crime Bosses much like Robert Battinson but still hasn’t faced many big threats so like his been Batman for about 5 years since my ideal version of Batman which isn’t Robert is about 35-41

Open Your Eyes Everyone! We don't need a hard reboot. We need a soft reboot. Keep the actors, just tell new stories. That's it, that's all you need to do. If we do get yet another Batman I really hope he has a Robin and even better if Dick is already Nightwing and the current Robin is Tim Drake, I want it to be very close to the comics, batcave with giant coin and mechanical T-Rex and everything, that would be awesome and easily distinguishable from the Robert Pattinson Batman which is very dark and grounded.

I think what they should have in the new dcu is the teen titans in phase 2 or maybe a later phase and it would be really cool to see a live action teen titans movie and roster I would go with the original one from the 2003 show and add some new members

The one thing I disagreed with with what you said is that if Dick and Jason have moved on to Nightwing and Red Hood and they're not starting from the beginning with Batman then Barbra should be Oracle, for one thing in the comics Killing Joke predates Death in the Family by several months, for another it would allow for representation for disabled people in the DCEU, and for a third thing for those of us who are fans of Steph and Cass it would give us a chance to see those characters adapted to screen, hopefully in a more accurate way.

DC also need to make live action movies about The Metal Men, I know they aren't household names, but they are going to get their own animated movie next year, so since they are getting their own animated movie next year, they minus well have live action movies be made about them.

DC needs to make movies about Wally West (they need to give him his own superhero name and they shouldn't have him take up the mantle of the Flash, he needs to be his own man and finally get out of Barry Allen's shadow), Impulse, Avery Hoe (they need to give her a new superhero codename, because the one that she has sucks and is without a shadow of a doubt the worst superhero codename ever and the fact that that codename exists is just baffling), Steel, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, Naomi, Batwoman, Red Robin, The Question, Blue Devil, Mr. Terrific, Big Barda, Vixen, Swamp Thing, Doom Patrol, and The Legends of Tomorrow.

I'm disappointed that Cavill isn't coming back, and I'm skeptical about this new plan (I really liked the Snyderverse), but that kind of reaction is pathetic
To your point that Snyder fans are upset with the firing of Henry Cavill, I didn’t like the Snyderverse at all. I really didn’t like a single one of his movies and felt like his justice league movie was bloated and unnecessary. Just my opinion. However, I am infuriated by Gunns decision to fire Cavill. On top of it being a stupid decision, it was wrong of DC to treat Cavill the way they have. I say all this to prove it’s not just Snyder fans who are upset, it’s those of us who genuinely believe, whether the movies were good or not, that Cavill was the best pick to play Superman.

marvel's phase 4 was actually very successful because i believe the goal was to change it up after doing it for over a decade-and-a-half. in my opinion only simpletons didn't like face for because they gave us new and interesting characters, they gave us characters not connected to a big world ending/avenger's plot (thank goodness, that was getting tired), they introduced the multiverse, brought back beloved characters from different universes, continued the storylines of characters who didn't get enough attention before, gave us a true to form show of a character that very much broke the mold (she-hulk) and gave one of their beloved actors an amazing tribute movie that also moved that part of the universe forward. again, only small minded, "don't change anything" ppl didn't like phase 4. it will be a loooooooong time before dc ever gets on marvel's level. "the batman" was a step in the right direction but not enough. dc has the overcome a very bad reputation and that's harder than making good movies. if ppl expect crap from you, it takes a long time to get over that in the minds of the audience. still, let's see what happens. i think the biggest mistake of the dceu was that the crapped the bed with the first time we got batman, superman, and wonder woman on the same screen. once they botched that, it was truly over.

Yea. But I get the feeling Margot won’t be done as Harley. I think James is gonna keep some of the actors. I think Margot and Gal and Zach Levi are staying and Mamoa will be recast as Lobo. I think everyone else is gone including Ezra and Amber…..thank God. No more Henry or Ray Fisher. And unfortunately I think no more Harry Lennix Martian Manhunter. I think we will have Martian Manhunter but he will be recast. I think when we see the Justice League again it will be the original seven but with Martian Manhunter recasted and Green Lantern and a recasted Aquaman. No Cyborg

I understand wanting to change direction (snyders’ stuff sucked) but who are the fans with this much patience? Marvel at this point is coasting cause they’ve done it all but DC is starting over again? Like who is getting excited about this? Arguably the genre is at it’s end (unless marvel decides it’s not) & WB & DC is pretending like a 10yr plan is something people want, like the current fans will potentially have grandchildren at that point
You remove Henry, you must remove everyone, a clean fresh slate to carry for the next decade or so. This casting was the lamest I’ve ever seen. Flash was the worst (and his running scene were iPhone made) but Batman, Wonder Woman, all of them were not far behind. Praying they don’t use Robert as Batman but use some of his Batman characteristics for the new one. Jason as Lobo looks hella ggoooodddd tho.

I see Robert Pattinson's batman very similar to Bale's Batman where they aren't as buffed as Ben Affleck and therefore would work more better in the dceu, but is more set in reality where giant aliens is something you won't see. I understand it, but at the same time Affleck is my Batman. Don't care what James Gunn does.

@@revealingtruth3329 you can make the same argument with Patterson and Bale where they really not as accurate to the comic Batman so that argument doesn't hold water. No actor will ever be. Bale had feelings with a woman who isn't Selena and Patterson is like a mopey teenager. Affleck wasn't perfect by any stretch, but he worked with other heroes, got into a ruffle with Superman, and constantly builds weapons to take on his foes. Also, you CAN'T SAY he's not a better fighter than the other two. He can easily mop the floor with them. I get that dark knight personality from Affleck while than the other two. It comes down to personal preference. Just like when angry Joe said Cavill is his Superman, Affleck is my Batman. The Killing part may be a no no but they guy in the timeline was well over 40 so there could be a reason why he does it. I understand roles get recast all the time but losing Cavill and Affleck was an L.
