James Gunn Dropped Some MAJOR Hints About The New DC Movie Universe

- James Gunn is very active on twitter, constantly liking and replying to tweets a lot of which give us some major hints towards the new DC Movie universe. Including Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Nightwing, Red Hood, Deathstroke and Bane related hints.
If they are going to work on the Green Lanterns, it needs to be a tv show and a series of movies with the biggest budget ever imagined. The Green Lantern stories are like the freaking Star Wars, it needs to be that big in every way.

@@jingleballs9935 Among the Best In DC even. Although I agree that the Batfamily is overrated by a lot. There are many heroes that actually have knowledge rivaling that of Batman, and skills, with superpowers that would realistically give them an edge over Batman, but they don't because they need to justify being the top superhero in investigation and planning.
A notable example of this is Deadman, there is literally no way for Batman to be a better investigator than a freaking ghost that possesses people and read memories on a daily basis. But he is.

@bruhmanofyear2 true but he can obtain info directly skipping all a detective's work in order to reach the truth. Here's the thing detective skills were made precisely because we can't extract info from people directly. If we could talk to the dead and read minds, detectives wouldn't exist. Meaning, any character that can do both should be better than the best detective in the world by default.
As for resisting, one extremely few people can do that, second there are things that can be done to weaken people's resistance to possession.
I want to see Nightwing done properly.

Gunn seems to like plots where aliens infiltrate the earth and assume human identities like he did with Peacemaker, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up adapting the Millenium saga in the next few years, in the comics this saga was about the Manhunters androids infiltrating the earth and controlling important world figures.
Remembering that the Manhunters are classic villains of the Green Lanterns and Gunn stated that the GL series is still in development.

honestly i’m probably in the small percentage of fans that wasn’t upset in the slightest over him getting rid of actors for certain character. i’m excited for a completely clean slate for the dc cinematic universe. as a major dc fan ( dc over marvel any day excluding spiderman who is in my top 5 favorite superheros) i want to see the dc cinematic verse grow over time and really be more fleshed out than it’s been previously, and if getting rid of some fan favorite actors is what gives me the chance to see that then i’m completely on board. i have a good feeling about what gunn is going to do at the helm of everything .

@@Billioncompany786 please let me know how i’m naive for my statement 😂 a large amount of the comments online i’ve seen have been outrage at certain changes that gunn is making . just to give you one major example : getting rid of henry cavil. most fans i’ve seen are actually pretty damn upset about that bro. I’m personally not against that change in the slightest so i think of myself as part of the small percent that isn’t against some of the current changes / recast going on under gunn lol.
@@cashkam7794 Most of the fans are upset because of the Henry Cavill not coming back for the role and they should be I'm not saying that it was Gunn's fault because I know he wasn't in charge when WB announced the return of Henry Cavill as Superman However no matter who is in charge WB is as always incompetent on handling their movie franchise they never make decisions they gonna stick with it. They should never announce the return of cavill publicly through him before hearing out James's plan for the new DCEU. They spend like millions reshooting many cameos that we aren't even gonna see because they scrap all those plans after the James Gunn's announcement. Cameo like Ben Affleck's Batman in Aquaman or Gal's wonder woman in Shazam or Cavill's Superman in Shazam and Flash.
If they were so passionate about continuing the DCEU they spend millions in reshooting why they scrap that all up. They always wanted to follow Gunn's plan won't it be even wiser to ask Gunn weather they should do these advertisements or not for the future of the DCEU.
In short all in all Majority are upset because of incompetence of WB problem is they are pushing the wrong tree which is James Gunn.
The lanterns will have a movie and a show, I guarantee it. The movie will have Hal and John starring, and the show will have Jessica, Guy, and Kyle probably at the forefront. And it’ll be used to flesh out the things the movies don’t show. The other Lantern corps, civilizations, different planets, etc.

I hope James considers Greg Rucka to write future Wonder Woman movies since he’s now a screenwriter. Plus, his WW arcs in the comics were phenomenal.
I thought it was pretty cool that James Gunn actually liked my tweet I had about Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps. I'm hoping it was a confirmation of Hal since GLC as a whole is practically confirmed.

I'd love for the Lantern Corps to finally get the love and attention they deserve.
I hope they do well with bringing the Bat-Family to live action. Dick Grayson as Robin & seeing his tranformation into Nightwing later on, Jason Todd, Joker played by someone better than Jared Leto, Tim Drake as Robin, Batgirl, aswell as supporting characters like Dr. Leslie Thompkins, i loved how the character was used in Batman:TAS as a mother figure as Alfred is as father figure. Renee Motoya supporting Batman's help as Gordon does while most might not like Harvey Bullock. Liked how Bullock tried to pick fights with Batman in beginning of the series. Id like to see Michael Jai White as John Stewart (Green Lantern) and id like to see Green Arrow get a solo film with his origins on the island, parents murdered.

I hope that Nightwing and Red Hood are not the only members of the bat family who will be in DCU. I hope the whole Bat Family will be in DCU and as long as they do, they can all be done justice together. And Mr Gunn even deserves to direct a film based on Batman Battle for the Cowl. Batwoman (Kate Kane) and Batwing (Luke Fox) deserve theatrical adventures after being treated like junk in CW.

Jackson Dunn is young enough for Battinson's robin. I got cast ideas for DCU's bat family' if the batman himself will be played by an actor in his 40s like Jensen Ackles or David Giuntoli or any other worthy actor who is in his 40s. Here are my James Gunn's DCU bat family cast ideas. Dylan O'Brien as NIghtwing, Nick Robinson as Red Hood, Chloe Moretz for Spoiler, Mackenzie Davis, Kristen Stewart or Wallis Day as Batwoman (Kate Kane being done right for good this time), for Tim Drake, either Finn Wolfhard, Stewart Allen, Zach Callison or David Mazouz, Jacob Trembly is perfect for Damian Wayne and for Batwing, either John Boyega or Corey Hawkins. and of course Leslie Grace with another and better chance of playing batgirl, and birds of prey's Cassandra Cain. And my plot idea for the whole bat family in James Gunn's DCU is that they protect gotham from an arkham breakout caused by Hugo strange played John Goodman and black mask 2.0 aka Dr Jeremiah Arkham played by Jason Clarke. and another plot idea I got in mind for the bat family in DCU is that in a third suicide squad movie, batwing fought deadshot and he undercovers as deadshot in the suicide squad and when the plan goes side ways the rest of the bat family come to back batwing up against the squad going off script. And James Gunn can direct a film based batman battle for the cowl.

I really want Green Lantern Kyle Rayner to be prominent at some point in this new universe, but it has to be like in the comics with him being the last Green Lantern after Hal goes nuts because of Parallax or dies. That's what made Kyle's character amazing and making him just another Lantern would be dissapointing.
I can see James Gunn do awesome with the green lantern crops for infinity and beyond. It be cool to see a film or show about a green lantern or a group of green lanterns on an impossible mission against enemies of the Green Lantern Corps like the Manhunters, Kanja Ro, Red Lanterns, Black Lanterns, Despero, Mongol, Anti-Monitor or even Yellow Sinestro.
If they do nightwing they have to do it good not just ok or decent 🗣🗣😭

This answer gives me think that probably they would do a Crisis saga for this universe instead of Darkseid and why not.)

I really do hope that the show is John focused and movies hal focused, I am one of the few people who prefer hal over John. I really think that green lantern could be the star wars of DC which James Gunn Jason stated to take inspiration from star wars. Also I think John will be with the team ups and hal will team up much less and just be in the big stuff

If James Gunn makes movies that are based outside the DCU I'd love to see modern interpretation of Alan Moore comics. Ignoring the controversy surrounding Moore and DC I'd love to see a more faithful adaptation of Watchmen, Leage of Extordinary Gentlemen or V for Vendetta.
They could do an animated series based in the DC cinematic universe for the Corp which would eliminate the whole budget issue that comes with live action. Also I hope John ends up being the main movie Lantern, he's such an awesome character and definitely deserves the spotlight

They should have made the Batman a tv show. Would have been perfect and the pacing would have been better. Can’t wait for see what James gun will do.
Green Arrow and Martian Manhunter should be part of the new DCU intro, they were amongst the first that formed the league and popular and heavlily used in Justice League Unlimited. I dont want the story arc rushed, but would love live-action Cadmus Arc done because it was so well done in the DCAU but something like that probly would take time to turn out great as it did in the DCAU. Lastly, if its done well and i do mean just about done page by page of comics, id love to see The Death & Return of Superman . But not make it like it like any of the Animated dvd movie versions. Has to be done proper imo. Yoda: "Do or do not, there is no try".
I wonder if they are going to at least acknowledge that they are trying to get things right in a multiverse whose ground work was laid down for more than a decade by the Arrowverse and the DCEU.
It would be nice if they genuinely act like this is their Post-Crisis phase, with the movies and shows in 2023 acting as the end of that Multiverse to bring something new

I have an idea for a Batman movie called Batman Vengence. It will be an adaptation of under the red hood and the arkham knight game.

Suicide Squad (Harley, Deathstroke, deadshot, Bronze tiger, killer croc, katana, waller, flag), Solomon grundy (sewer cameo from long Halloween), Two Face, Riddler, Penguin, Scarecrow, Catwoman
I would give Jason a limited series or movie called Jason and at the end becomes Red hood gets moved to an Outlaws Show
I’m glad James plans to use multimedia to expand this universe. I’ve always thought that doing a conclusive Batman story involving at least all 4 of his main robins on screen would be impossible, but if they are doing tv shows and games I have a lot of hope

I'm soo over this!!! Just make some freakin' good films!!!! There are soooo many amazing characters and incredible stories in the DC UNIVERSE!!!! Let's goooooooooo!!!!
As much as it sucks to see all these fairs kinda being "pushed out" of their roles, I think Gunn is the real deal and is serious about getting all of these characters- both popular and lesser known characters- on the big screen. I think he'll give us the main trinity, a young version of each of them, and then over the years show them grow. I think we'll finally see Batman have the 3 main robins, maybe even more. I think we'll see Superman and his relationship with Lois grow, and see him have children later. I think we'll see 2 different Earth green lanterns if not more. Maybe we'll see all of the sidekicks and their growth, as they form the teen titans and later become the future of DC films, maybe Dick Grayson 10 years after these films get kicked off, finally becomes Batman, and Wally will become the Flash. I think now more than ever, things like this will be a major possibility for DC. As bummed as I am, I'm excited for what's to come
I hope that in this universe Dick Grayson is Batman and Wally west is the Flash because they are cooler than Bruce Wayne and Barry Allen and people will be confused between 2 young Bruce Waynes at the same time.

I just want a coherent DC Cinematic Universe to see these great characters in these great worlds and their great stories.
Me personally I wanna see what they do with new Wonder Woman, Flash, and Superman ( even though it will take time to move on from Henry Cavil ). As well as good cinematic interpretations of Hal Jordan Green Lantern, Nightwing, Red Hood, Robin ( Tim Drake at first), some Batman villains, Lex Luthor, Plastic Man, Hawkman ( he was pretty good in Black Adam but their recasting everyone sooooo ), Hawkgirl, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Zatanna, maybe Constantine, etc.

I think Green Lantern is very hard to pull it off in live-action unless they have James Cameron’s Avatar and GOT budget level. Animated is less complicated and feels more natural imo.
I really want a Deathstroke action movie in the level of John Wick and The Raid.
Green Arrow deserves a faithful adaptation movie. I don’t want Arrowverse all over again. Give us a fun, sarcastic, adventurous and charming Oliver Queen.
Nightwing deserves a movie and Red Hood a R-Rated TV show.
Dave Bautista would be perfect as Bane imo.

If you want a more comic accurate Bane, then you don't get Batista. Bane is supposed to be Latin. Green Lantern works best as a show because it is more episodic in nature

Jade is a different type of Green Lantern. More Green fire and pure blasts of power than actual constructs and the more focused Green Lantern Corps powers. And even then, Jade appeared in just a few episodes each season, an actual full Green Lantern show would require a lot more.

That’s why DC sucks and unsuccessful. They kept changing character lead-role and rebooting. DC producers / writers don’t level up with Marvel. DC they disregard the FANs👎👎👎
To get around the budgetary constraints that a live-action adaptation would bring they should just do the Green Lantern series animated.
But really high-quality animation like Marvel's What If on Disney Plus. Or photorealistic CG like modern video game cut scenes.
If they try to do it on the level of most DC animated movies with just regular kid cartoon cell animation it wouldn't cut it.

IMO Green Lantern powers on a TV budget? Star Trek TOS did it when a green hand grabbed the enterprise. It just needs to be green stuff it doesn't need to look like light. If you want CGI you have to accept that CGI looks real and get off the back of practical effects if you want practical effects Phil Tippett can do the whole series
What I would love to get is 1 a FULL Bat Family story
and ignore box office and effects and give GLs love
and I would also get away from "Dark realistic Nollen junk" and do ANY super hero with an Upbeat Addam West or Bruce Timm spin
also Beast Boy is easy to do. Ds9 did Odo so do the same thing. Get some animals or Muppets and dye them green.
