Yes, yes we could. Without even breaking a sweat. The geography is a nightmare for any invasion force and the video doesn't mention that if they came through Texas, it would be what we Texans have been waiting for for decades.

Something the video doesn't mention: there are around ~800 million small arms in existence in the world. More than HALF of them are privately owned by Americans.

  • @jeknechtphotography7106

Something this video doesn’t mention is that aside from the military, even if an invasion did by some slim chance, Americans for the most part know their neighborhoods and terrain and about 72 million Americans are registered gun owners with at least 1 firearm and they will certainly defend their own home and property.

    • @Pianomn626
      @Pianomn626 3 года назад +57

This is accurate. Of all of the privately owned firearms in the world, Americans own 84% of them. I've seen some people say that "Second Amendmenters" wouldn't jump in to the fight. I suspect that is false.

@@an_anishinaabe_son there is no such thing as gun registration. Exception being Class 3 items (full auto, short barrel rifles, short barrel shotguns). The 4473 form you fill out at your dealer, STAYS, at the dealer.
However, I did many many form copies for the ATF, because they found a gun on a crime scene. They call the manufacturer, find out when and what distributor the gun went to. Then call the distributor, and find out when and which dealer it went to. They then call the dealer and ask to do a "trace". They provide you with a date and the serial number they are looking for. In the old days, we had to go through filing cabinets with thousands and thousands of forms to find it. Now you just enter the serial # in the computer, it gives you the number you assigned the 4473, go to the correct cabinet and pull it out. Sometimes they just want the purchaser's info, and sometimes they want it faxed. But there is no such thing as a gun registry, yet.

    • @braden9893

@@M4A3 There definitely is a Gun registry, it just isn't mandatory to use. A gun is automatically registered to your name when purchased from a firearm dealer whenever the background check is processed.
Private gun sales won't have the gun registered to your name unless you choose to do so. Most people do this so that they can recover their gun in the event it is stolen.

This is such outdated thinking. The entire US private gun Arsenal would be useless against high flying drone attacks. And all it would take is a successful attack on one of the dozens of data infrastructure locations located in each state to melt the internal organs of the entire population of the citizens for miles and all of the guns located in it simply due to the shear amount of radio frequency radiation that facility would release. (There is a reason they are concrete lined structures in mountains or a minimum of 4 stories below ground to minimize the amount of radiation that escapes.) If there was a war “on our soil” it would not be fought with man power on the ground it would be fought from remote locations miles away using satalites and drones and the citizens would be driven below ground taking cover from the debris falling as a result of US air counter attacks.
Sorry there will never be another WW2 era war fought in the US, or any country again.

American here. We have contingency plans for almost every possible scenario, including if the entire world declared war on us. While nothing is set in stone, we are really REALLY good at waging war. We had the opportunity to fill the power vacuum at the end of WWII, and we took it and remained the leaders of the western bloc ever since. Hell, most of our allies depend on us to supplement their own military power projection. A big reason why Russia or China doesn't invade other countries is due to their NATO membership status, and thus knowing that if such a war was declared they'd be drawn into direct conflict with us.

Even if a force was able to create and hold a beachhead, they would be in danger not only from US forces but the most heavily armed citizenry the world has ever known. Defending is always easier than attacking, and it is a lesson that the US and Russia have both learned in Afghanistan and the US in Vietnam where a bunch of guys in black pajamas fended off the worlds most powerful military. Any invading army would be spanked so badly by guerilla militia units that they would be demoralized and defeated very quickly. The thing is it would never get to that point because of modern technology. Any approaching vessels or aircraft would be lit up before they were even in visual range of the coast. The only chance they would have is to mass their forces in South America or Central America before making a push for the southern boarder, but few if any of their assets would be left to cross once they got there. Nope, the only threat to our homeland is either nuclear or biological warfare, and that wouldn't just be a threat to our existence, but humanity as a whole. The biggest threat the US is the same as what caused the collapse of Rome. Complacency, comfort, out of control spending, and division of it's people. Those are the real invaders, and they have been at the gate for a while now.

Oh, and to put it into MORE context... Those 11 carriers they mention? They never travel alone, they move in carrier battle groups of 20-30 vessels and accompanying attack subs. And 4 of them are permanently stationed in the Pacific off our own coasts and 4 more are permanently stations in the Atlantic off our own coasts.
The other 3 are always roaming around in YOUR backyard, just in case you "accidentally" float away and threaten the US or someone we choose to protect. Most navies won't take their whole kit and go attack you if they know you have an aircraft carrier battle group within a thousand miles or so of your coast. It makes this video an entertaining thought exercise, but it's never gonna happen. None of the large militaries in the world today have any real desire to invade any of the others. We all prefer economic competitions.

Literally, the only nation in the last few hundred years to consider an invasion of the United States was Nazi Germany, and those were the same tactical geniuses who tried to invade Russia in the winter. Even Japan, which is the only nation to launch a proactive attack on a US state, never intended to hold territory, merely destroy enough of the Pacific fleet to cripple operations for several years, giving Japan time to consolidate power in the region. Large nations, like the US, Russia, and China, are unbelievably hard to invade, with the US being the hardest, simply due to the massive water barrier (never mind several hundred million guns).

This is mainly due to the 60s-90s perceived view of the West Coast being more liberal (more Canadian or European like) than the rest off the country and writers on both sides of the political debate making their dream nation.

We have our own standing separate state militia with armament, our gun laws are governed by our state alone (and almost everyone in Texas owns several guns), we have plenty of our own money and Texans WILL fight for our own state! There are many more reasons but, those are just a sample. Texas is in a different class, legally, from the other 49 states. It is the Australian version of Red Dawn with a few different plot twists.
Most important is HOW and who they were invaded by to be undetected until it was much too late.

One more thing would be the fact that almost everyone on the east coast of the US carries a gun or has one in their house, so it wouldn't be a very "friendly" greeting.

Not only do we have the largest and arguably the most advanced airforce and navy, we have the army, marine corps, coast guard and each state has a national guard, each with reserve forces. Most Cities have their own police force(major cities have dedicated swat teams), every county has its own sheriff's department, every state has a highway patrol, there are hundreds of private military forces (e.g. blackwater), 17 million military veterans, armed private security, bounty hunters, armed agencies like border patrol and game and wildlife, TSA and tons of other armed jobs. Something like 40% of households have at least 1 firearm. Not to mention that there are places like Detroit, Stockton and Baltimore where shootings are commonplace. Good luck getting through there.

Over 100 million armed Americans. Many of whom are heavily armed and accomplished shooters. Millions more who could be armed in short order. Not to mention that little thing like an unrivaled military.

There are more firearms per capita throughout the US, it really doesn't matter what state is invaded first. Any invaders will face stiff resistance. The two places most likely to suffer occupation for any period of time would likely be Alaska or Hawaii, and only because they are so remote from the contiguous 48 states.
As for the contiguos 48 states, any occupation would fail unless they nuked several of the major ports, bases and cities - and then only after their forces survive the retaliation strikes could they hope to invade. After that, they might be able to occupy some portion of the states, but there would be constant harrassment from the survivors - peace would be impossible until they were destroyed.
