Not mentioned is the nearly 500,000,000 firearms in its citizens hands, and over 1 Trillion rounds of ammo. Making it the largest military in the world, on its own unique territories. In fact, its citizens possess more small arms ammo, than the US military.

The one thing that never gets addressed either is whether the US decides to fight a "nice" war or not. As history has shown us. the US fighting for perceived self preservation is an entirely different beast than the US fighting for more "diplomatic" or "economic" reasons. well, our Navy and Air force are huge. And I would agee that our Army and Marine ground troops are the best trained standard army the world has ever seen, but our ground forces would be destroyed if we got locked in a land war. Ground war, in general, should be long over and Russia is showing why right now. Its brutal and almost entirely unpredictable. In the air and the sea, it does not matter how hard you want to fight, technology will win every time. However, on the ground it is a different story. The slower pace, the use of cover and maneuvers, the fact destroying the vehicles doesn't mean the fight is over, and the role morale can play in ground combat means that a ground war is a crap shoot at best. Don't give the enemy a chance to make martyrs, don't give the people of the enemy reason to hate your people because of brutal ground war, and most importantly don't hand the enemy an opportunity to steal a win when you should only ever offer the opportunity to surrender.

Try looking online, Asia was filled with thousands of those death camps. There are photos online of people including children who were little more than skeletons. Google to read about “comfort women” Asian women forced into sex slavery by the Japanese. I disagree with internment camps but Roosevelt also interred German and Italian immigrants and stated that there had been Japanese, German and Italian immigrants whose loyalty lay not with the country that gave them a home but with their former countries. They were well fed, housed in safe and good conditions and received health care, not one of them was thin.
As a US Navy vet I love how info graphics always forgets that the US tends to go for the jugular in wars. We would go for the oil but we would also use our vast inventory of long range conventional missles to wipe out as many military targets as posible first and lets not forget history proves that when faced with insurmountable odds like japan in ww2 we can do things like fire bombing campaigns which killed more than the 2 nukes we dropped , and besides even hitler had allies at first in russia and italy

For everything the common man knows (like the guy(s) who made this video), there's something, even if only a work in progress, that is highly classified and kept under wraps for tactical advantage. Even if the US didn't have the best military in terms of equipment and preparedness, it's true strength lies in its ability to take its time and strategize the best possible course of action and then make that happen.
One fact this doesn't take into account. The US has the largest oil reserve on the planet estimated to be somewhere between 3-9 TRILLION barrels worth of oil. The original estimates were 3 trillion, but the latest numbers suggest it is closer to 9 trillion. As for how much of that is recoverable, about 20%-30% using modern technology. So anywhere from 900 billion to 3 trillion barrels of recoverable oil. Edit: This is an oil reserve that nobody has tried to access yet because of how deep it is and how difficult it will be to extract that oil. Of course, the real problem here is that they completely ignored South Ameria as they don't really have any military capabilities, but what they do have is OIL and if the world elected to exploit that and then use their good submarines to scout a safe path from Brazil to Europe, small amount of oil from South America could get through the US blockade. Oh, and OPEC stands for the "Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries"
and we could easily just buck up and invest in wind, nuclear and solar energy. become entirely oil-independent within our own borders for energy. Then just keep the electric car ball rolling and leave everbody in the dust as far as dependence on other nations. leveraging us even further on the world stage. imagine if we got to sell our oil almost entirely. imagine if our solar and wind fields were in the central US and nearly impenetrable to foreign attack.. Kansas alone could house enough wind turbines to power half of America. Wind alley could produce enough electricity to keep every North American nation powered 24/7, 365. with some to spare.... the wind doesnt fully go away across a 1500 mile stretch of land. and its not ever going away.
Estimates say that the US has the largest untapped oil reserve in the world under the Rockies. Enough to provide oil to the US for the next 2000 years. The problem lies in getting it out of the ground. It would have to be done from Montana or somewhere up there, I can't remember where exactly.
If it's any consolation and makes you feel better we (The USA) do consider you to be our friends. Remember though. We appear to be a nation full of so many different views and political beliefs that we could not possibly agree on anything. That is not really the case. After the 9/11 attacks everyone and I mean EVERYONE was pissed. People who had never considered military careers we signing up just to get a chance to hit back. I knew guys that quit their jobs to travel to NY City to volunteer in the cleanup. 24*7 there was a feeling of Fury in the air. Most people know how proud Americans are of their country. That is what makes us a special kind of dangerous when crossed.
Those years right after were certainly something. There was a tangible drive and unity that fucking EVERYONE felt. That would play a huge factor in this scenario, whether or not the American people felt it justified and unavoidable. Cause I'd bet everything that if it sparked the same vibe that 9/11 did, we would go all WW mode again and turn as much work force as possible to supporting the effort. In a time where women didn't work (ww2, not 9/11) they dropped everything and worked overtime in factories happily and went home to tend community gardens to feed themselves and their area. For 9/11 so, so many people volunteered and those who didn't sent many care packages specifically to loved ones who did join and another package to be distributed to the general force. The time after 9/11 really was an interesting time to say the least. You could meet a perfect stranger and still feel bonded as Americans and help them out. Patriotism, compassion, and yes a thirst for revenge was our unifying drive. I miss the pride and compassion of those times, not the tragedy that led to it all though, that kind of trauma shook everyone to the core, which I assume would be similar in the scenario here.
The American people have always had a heart of gold and pride, no matter what. You best believe our military would go from 1.3 million active duty, to possibly tens of millions.
This also didn’t even consider stuff like the Civil Reserve Air Fleet. DoD airlift capability using some 450 aircraft ready within 72 hours from over 20 airlines like FedEx and UPS. FedEx alone has over 400 long range cargo aircraft capable of moving troops, munitions, and even vehicles. We can basically send anything, anywhere in the world in less than 24 hours. It’s like a having a 4th U.S. air force.
In Colorado Springs (USA) the airforce bases are now being bolstered by Space Force bases... satellite capabilities were touched on in this video but to have an entire devoted branch likely means those abilities run much deeper.
@@JB-yb4wn Why is that funny? Are you so ignorant? Most military information is kept secret to have the upper hand against enemies. Super fascinating stuff for sure, even just understanding of how geography and oil play such a big role in this simulated conflict. Trying to remember if there has ever been a dominant country before that had so few imperialistic goals. The USA could take over any area it chose, but has virtually no interest.
That's not exactly true. The US is just using a newer version of imperialism. You don't need to conquer and control every country if you can help setup governments that ally with your own country. The US also controls many other nations by being intertwined with their economics. The US, which I am proudly a citizen of (just to clarify), still has imperialistic goals. They have just gone about it in a completely different way.

Would you like a list of the countries whose entire economies would collapse without the US's involvement? Or would you like a list of countries with US military bases in them? Imperialism doesn't have to have a negative connotation to it (though there are many instances in US history that are negative).
Just letting you know there are actual drills the US does in order to figure out the breaking point of the military by being spread out, and the limit is three combat command regions (6 all together). So it'd actually turn out bad for the US but the US would make sure to keep the fight on the offensive as much as possible away from the states.

The lack of meaningful transport has always been the Achilles heel of any Eurasian country wanting to invade the United States...even France strained its marine resources to support its Imperial adventure in Mexico in the 1860s, and this was only made possible by Britain's (and the Royal Navy's) forbearance, and the United States being pre-occupied with its Civil War. If Russia, China or India shared a land border with the contiguous United States, that would be a major problem for Americans, but its long been recognized that, if you can't march there, a country's army can't directly threaten the United States.
As a retired Navy carrier pilot, I flew against Soviet aircraft and in wars games. The military doctrine is to hit hard at the enemies bases, both land and sea ports. The canal is pretty neat. There’s also another canal between South America and North America called the Panama Canal which cuts traffic from having to go around South America.
There are a few of these videos on RUclips. One that I watched was “What if” an opposing nation made it to our beaches and tried to invade. The mass percentage of the U.S. population is armed because of our gun laws, and therefore would allow its citizens to provide a defense. Needless to say, a land invasion would not make it very far.
It would because eventually you will run out of people, food, bullets etc. You have to understand that there are many, many, countries a lot smarter than the US.

I speak to you as the direct descendant of King George III. He was the last Crowned Sovereign to rule in this country, and it is therefore with a particular personal interest that I view those events which took place 200 years ago. It seems to me that Independence Day, the Fourth of July, should be celebrated as much in Britain as in America. Not in rejoicing at the separation of the American Colonies from the British Crown but in sincere gratitude to the Founding Fathers of this great Republic for having taught Britain a very valuable lesson. This morning I saw the famous Liberty Bell. It came here over 200 years ago when Philadelphia, after London, was the largest English speaking city in the world. It was cast to commemorate the Pennsylvania Charter of Privileges, but is better known for its association with the Declaration of Independence. Today, to mark the 200th anniversary of that declaration, it gives me the greatest pleasure, on behalf of the British people, to present a new bell to the people of the United States of America. It comes from the same foundry as the Liberty Bell, but written on the side of the Bicentennial Bell are the words “Let Freedom Ring”. It is a message in which both our people can join and which I hope will be heard around the world for centuries to come. _ Queen Elizabeth II Philadelphia P.A.on July 6, 1976.

I don't know if you caught that, "The US navy BACKED BY THE US COASTGUARD..." The numbers are based on a navy. So if you add the coastguard the numbers increase.
Yea what most people don't realize is how massive the coastguard actually is, iirc it alone makes up the 9 largest navy in the world and has more transport capacity than most nations. Because most people don't realize the coastguard doesn't just guard the US coast but any of our forward bases and such that face open water.
Because of the interest in military projection, the United States can move over 1 million troops to another continent through a Presidential Decree. There are many cruise travel lines located on both the east and west coast. Those liners could be ordered to transport soldiers overseas within 1 week.
Yeah right! Those ships are foreign flagged vessels that don't belong to the US. Moreover, there are many more ocean liners outside of the US. And, moron, if they manage to pack a million people into those incredibly big and slow ships, you think maybe that these things won't be seen from space? And with your 11 minesweepers left in your navy, you tell me the astronomical odds that an ocean liner will make it anywhere before being blown up.
@@JB-yb4wn ;Your forgetting that if any liner was conscripted into service and transporting personnel and equipment they would be escorted by a carrier fleet, as for locating mines, submarines and other weapons targeted on those liners would most likely be blown off this planet, a carrier fleet can and does protect itself very well and can and will find and track any incoming weapon and delt with appropriately. Remember this "Kelly" Johnson's replacement at Lockheed/Martin's Skunk Works told a British Reporter on how far ahead the U.S. is to the rest of the world, he said "Think back to 1917 during WWI and how everyone was flying biplanes, today if WWI was now the U.S. would bring to that war the equipment that was used during the Vietnam Conflict", or the U.S. is about 60 to 65 years ahead in military technologies to the rest of the world, and supplies almost all of the 195 countries with military arms, especially now since the Soviet Union had folded and slowed on military exports to former allies of the U.S.S.R.
@@cudathehawgjetfixer7520 1. So your strategy is to waste one of the 11 or so carriers to escort some ocean liners? You do know that other nations have cruise missiles, in fact other nations have better missiles than yours and would target these ocean liners regardless of which ship is riding shotgun, so to speak. So you plan to spread a million soldiers around the planet with no means of resupplying them? Just think, and I know it's really tough for Americans to do, what happens if just one of these ocean liners get sunk? Then the others have to carry the slack until the next one is sunk, etc. etc. These things take years to build in peacetime and guess what? OCEAN LINERS ARE NOT MADE IN THE US. The US does not have a ship yard big enough to make these things. These countries do: Fincantieri in Italy, Meyer Werft in Germany, STX Europe with locations in Finland and France, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea Disney may own the ships, but because an American company owns the ships, DOES NOT MEAN THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE THEM. Once they get sunk, they are gone for good. The US also doesn't make supertankers, container ships, virtually nothing anymore. The US builds about 10 merchant vessels a year (mainly specialized liquified gas carriers), while China alone builds 1,000. Of the 44,000 vessels registered on this planet, 200 are US vessels. He forgot to mention a very important part of the war, US manufacturing. If you know what happened in the US during World War 2, the US would quickly shift to war time manufacturing and likely outpace most of the world in new military equipment (ships, munitions, planes, tanks, etc.) at least in the earliest days of the war. Depending on details, and if the strategy presented was used, the US might even be able to hold the middle east with a ramp up in military recruits and new equipment. Also what he forget is the US has military equipment graveyards. Hundreds of old ships, thousands of older planes, and tanks and innumerable amounts of other obsolete equipment sitting, in various levels of readiness, for redeployed in the even of a major war. Even if the world destroyed everything that is current in active use by the US, we would, nearly, over night have the same size navy, air force and army that is equipped with tech equal to what everyone else is currently using.
Have to disagree. In WW2 the U.S. had a dominant manufacturing industry. Not the case anymore. The U.S. will have to first rebuild its own industry to produce for its war losses. This comes into an alarming case when you realize the tech used by the U.S. military and all of its components having to be imported. (I.E. chips)
While in WW2 we had the materials and capability to switch production, today, we have lost many manufacturing facilities and I don't think it will be anything close to the same as far as output. BUT, the great thing is that we already have such a huge stockpile and there are specialized manufacturing facilities already built for our war machine.
Jive turkey is absolutely correct. The production capability of the US is nowhere near what it was during WWII, nor do we have workers with the necessary skill sets to properly staff manufacturing facilities on the scale we had during WWII. Part of President Trumps desire to “make America great again” was to increase American manufacturing capability. unfortunately manufacturing is “dirty” and goes against everything that Biden and the new green deal advocates want to achieve.
I can only speak for myself, but I like the British people. The way you guys hung in there during WWII (before Japan screwed up & touched our boats & we got in it)showed exactly how smart & tough the Brits are.
In the last few years we have expanded our Naval capabilities even further than what's described in this video. Now if you also factor in the fact when this video was made we had hundreds more fighter jets on order and now have actually taken delivery of most of them and still have our older jets... Yeah, it's quite staggering how huge our military presence is. Now also take into consideration our privately owned guns and ammo being 500 million plus guns and trillions of rounds of ammo in the hands of men and women all over the country, many of our men and women having prior served in the various branches of the US military, and the fact if the draft were enacted we'd have tens of millions of US troops ready to serve.... You can see what a terrifying picture that paints for the opposition.
Can't forget how the current Whitehouse occupant quickly pulled out of Afghanistan, and left behind what, $800 billion in military weapons, equipment, and technology that are probably currently being reversed engineered by our biggest enemies. Thus, helping them close the technological gap even quicker.
@@Gutslinger Even if they figure out how to use it they're not exactly swimming in advanced engineers and aerospace technology. Highly unlikely they'll reverse engineer any of it. Likely most of it will be run into the ground, crashed by inexperienced pilots, and be inoperable within a year or two. Not getting into the political side of the discussion as I disagree with our current administration likely as much as you do but that was not my intent on being a part of the discussion.
Russia and Japan can reverse engineer that tech... it's only Israel's iron dome tech, that they would struggle with (anti missle) maybe some micro chip issues... but regardles it wouldn't matter much tbh. America will never be alone in this kind of war and I'm surprised to think that somehow Germany and the commonwealth would be America's most natural allies as well as israel. Thats a no brainer, truth be told the commonwealth have no love for Asia or the EU, its way to liberal for a conservative people
And no mention of other branches. And this is with tech that's known throughout the world. US is developing crazy advanced technologies. New A10, 6th gen fighter and bomber aircraft, unmanned sea/aerial/ground vehicles, robotics, nanotechnology in medical, new weapon systems for infantry, the list goes on.

@26:30 Thank you for mentioning the U.S. Coast Guard! When other countries' navies are considered, they almost always include the equivalent of the U.S. Coast Guard in their counting. Mostly because few other countries have true blue water navies and call their coast guard equivalents their navies. Yep, it's good to be the only super power. And although we aren't going to war against the world any time soon, I think we're getting fed up policing all the rest of you. We've trying to prevent minor local wars from becoming the next world war but get little cooperation and the opposite of thanks. Is it worth it?
Here's a fun fact: Current US overseas deployment levels are at their lowest since prior to WWII. The US is ALREADY largely leaving the rest of the world to its own devices. Ships have been getting attacked that in times prior the US would have gotten involved. The US Navy is still out there in the world's oceans, but the US is a lot less concerned about protecting shipping as much as it used to. Going forward, the US will likely continue to protect shipping, but it'll be a lot more picky about it. If it doesn't effect the US or very close allies, the US probably won't give much of a flip about it.
Coast Guard vessels also tend to be built "for, but not with" much heavier wartime armament than they normally carry, which could be installed without too much trouble.
@@Seastallion Yeah, the US hasn't cared about anything other than things that could imminently cause a third world war for years at this point. I love the Coast Guard but a general rule of thumb is 'no missiles not military'. Coasties don't wanna be military anyway, we're a little fucked in the head 😂

Plus, I’m pretty sure if the US ever faced a war against the world, the first thing they would do is occupy Canada, Northern Mexico, Yucatán, Panama and Caribbean. Once they sured that up, they’d have all North America and more defensible positions and way more resources. P,us they’d connect Alaska to the rest of the states, enabling much easier movement. Also Including securing the gulf which is huge for transport and resource. Then they’d also have the Canadian oilsands and the many other Canadian resources and cover the entire northern hemisphere forcing enemy forces to have to go around Argentina and be cut off completely in the North.
Keep in mind....the US now has a specialized space force developing...so those targeting satellites for China would be the first space targets in the opening salvos

OPEC, I think it means, Oil Producing Economic Countries, probably wrong however lol, refers to a coalition of countries in the middle East that provide over 80% of the worlds oil
no one ever explains how Chinese long range missiles ever actually find and hit their targets. US ships are beyond line-of-sight, and always moving. Requires real-time tracking and targeting with great precision at great distances. You need to observe the target to hit it.
That's why the Chinese anti-ship missles have such a complex kill-chain. They use AWACS to track the ship and on final aproch use the satellite telemetry to get the exact location and speed to hit it, but if you break any point in that chain then the missle becomes useless. Satellite are just the easiest target at the moment.
@@cheeseninja1115 hypersonic maneuvering is an issue, and all that active targeting can be detected, observed, attacked, and disrupted. You're firing a missile over the horizon, beyond the reach of Chinese assets, at a moving target.

A super power who’s directive is be able to fight 2 wars simultaneously is sure winner for any country. The money spent yearly on our defense budget for the military is and has been more then many GDPs countries around the world. That being said the movie War Games comes to mind when the computer simulations at NORAD plays out scenarios only to conclude the best to win the war is not to play the game.

What are you talking about, we turned away jews during WW2, we constantly screw over locals that have helped us like most recently in Afghanistan. We do allow in more people per year than anyone in the world. Unless you means years after which is kinda a moot point...
The Japanese Americans in WW2 would probably question your definition of "accepting". Life wasn't exactly great in the internment camps the US setup.
@@krayzy932 I thought about mentioning that as well but the op said refugees not our own people.
Yea, If your a war criminal our government hires you, as long as you aren't a poor person....
Zach, the US internment camps were resorts compared to the death camps Japan had across Asia, in China, the Philippines, Indonesia etc.. were they starved, tortured and killed the various Asian people, Dutch, English French, Australian and Americans.
Yeah you got defeated by the Taliban!
Must be why we did none of that since when? Look at iraq or afghanistan...they apparently love long corruption wars now. Besides this soft population we have now couldn't even handle the losses we had in korea...look how they react to any american casualties in the past 20 years. It'd be like vietnam ...they proud they know someone fighting until they come back then it's screw you type of thing.
Stopping a war to save money does not mean we were defeated. All these wars people claim the US lost lasted as long as they did due to wanting little civilian casualties or other similar reasons. The US could have just sent nothing but bombs and missiles to end the war if limiting casualties wasn’t important. And against something like the US vs The World, I doubt much cate would be given to civilians so you can expect them to go all out for once.

So why are we getting oil imported?

@@philiphapeshis1226 to prep for what's to come
Estimates say that the US has the largest untapped oil reserve in the world under the Rockies.

"Use it less" what the fuck are you talking about? The U.S.. has been involved in some military action since the Korean War. The U.S. is constantly sticking it's nose in other's business all around the globe.
And the fact almost all of us have guns and more guns. 🤣

As a retired Navy carrier pilot, I flew against Soviet aircraft and in wars games. The military doctrine is to hit hard at the enemies bases, both land and sea ports. I know we have always been taught to fight a defense battle, but our plan B is lethal beyond words. We have so many weapons in secret, in places like area 51 and elsewhere, the public and our enemies would be shocked. The day a war like this would happen is so small it's safe to say it would not happen at all. Everyone in the world understands the United States is a sleeping giant best left alone. Look what happened to Japan in WWII. Oh and as far as you gaining entry into the USA once the shooting starts, not very. The country would lock down the entry to prevent spies. Cheers

1. These countries do:
Fincantieri in Italy,
Meyer Werft in Germany,
STX Europe with locations in Finland and France,
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea
Disney may own the ships, but because an American company owns the ships, DOES NOT MEAN THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE THEM. SO no, you guys just don't have the carrying capacity for a million man invasion force, just google this stuff up.

(I.E. chips)
Our grave yards are the world shopping center.
Our military graveyard is probably superior to Russia's live army, if the current war is any indication.

Yeap.
@@Seastallion Yeah, the US hasn't cared about anything other than things that could imminently cause a third world war for years at this point. no one ever explains how Chinese long range missiles ever actually find and hit their targets.
