    On Commander Cody, I actually have a theory related to his execution of Order 66:
    Despite being a tactical clone commander who's fought alongside Obi-Wan, his decision of ordering an AT-TE's gunner to fire on Obi-Wan doesn't make that much sense. While yes It's due to plot armor because Obi-Wan was in the original trilogy, I also believe it was Cody's personality overriding the Inhibitor chip.
    As shown later, Cody is certain Obi-Wan survived, but calls off the search after a airborne trooper tells him that no one could have survived the fall. For me, I think Cody had the gunner shoot at Obi-Wan because he knew Obi-Wan would survive.
    One reason I list the decision to have an AT-TE gunner fire on Obi-Wan as being not very tactical is because, as we saw, the distance and height of Obi-Wan would mean that the blast wouldn't kill him. As Cody has fought alongside Kenobi for so long, he would have undoubtedly known that the decision would have allowed Kenobi to survive. Just a thought, at least.

    • @thewisefives2951
      @thewisefives2951 2 года назад +138

      Wouldn't shock me at all, as Obi-Wan and Cody were very close friends and very loyal to one another. Cody was very similar to Obi-Wan in terms of personality. He's a good man who was very empathetic, kind, and caring, although he was more reserved than Rex or Fives. I still remember his comments about "how people are what make cultures and cities" to Waxer, Boil, and Wooley in the Innocents of Ryloth episode while they were strolling through the abandoned city. They really need to continue his story and give him a proper conclusion. Hopefully Bad Batch, Kenobi, or something else will happen. It sucks that a character as insanely popular as Cody is still hasn't gotten more content made about him post-Order 66.
      On a side note, Cody had some really good philosophical advice which he gave to others throughout Clone Wars.

    • @geetslys
      @geetslys  2 года назад +189

      That is surprisingly the first time I have heard of this theory and it's very possible

    • @NoBody20026
      @NoBody20026 2 года назад +29

      That theory would be great before inhabitor chip content (which I personally don't like)

    • @MrBrim-yo4mv
      @MrBrim-yo4mv 2 года назад +21

      I think you're reaching. that biast if aimed correctly would've vaporized him. If anything, the theory of a clone overriding his inhibitor chip falls on the Clone gunner, not Cody.

    • @zexalbrony4799
      @zexalbrony4799 2 года назад +25

      Oh, that is a great theory and one I hope is true. It might be, as we've seen Clones subtly resist the Inhibitor Chips at least a little bit to try and by time for others they don't want to hurt. We saw it with Jesse when he started to put his guns down but then raised them back up, it wasn't much, but Jesse did try. Wrecker too, we saw him hesitating to shoot Omega to give her time to escape or someone to come to the rescue as Rex did.
      I fully believe in the theory that Clones can resist the Chips at least a bit in subtle ways, it might only buy the Jedi and their allies a few seconds, but sometimes a few seconds is enough and every bit helps. So I fully believe both Cody and the AT-TE Gunner to some extent as well, did everything they could to subtly resist the chip enough to still go through with the order but give Obi-Wan the best chance of surviving.

    I still have the hope that either Rex in The Bad Batch series or Obi-Wan in the Kenobi series will meet Cody and manage to get him to see he's fighting for the wrong side. The 212th deserves to be led by a smart Clone who isn't mindless, I still have the hope that Cody can be that Clone, if not, then Boil will have to lead what members of the 212th join Rex's Clone Rebellion when the time comes.

      Having too many others around you who doesn't share your worldviews may ironically end up with you reinforcing your own instead after all. Cody, being the textbook commando from the get go, may have gotten tired of the freethinkers & goody-two-shoes around him who either question their orders all the time or take moral considerations seriously, & just wanna get the job done. Hell, he might have seen himself being the sensible one around the 'lunatics' around him who has to doubt stuff & ask questions all the time, who have all ironically made his life easier by making it unnecessary for him to question himself about what he does.

    This, to be honest, would've been interesting if Yoda didn't choose to kill Gree in self-defense, but set Gree and his soldiers uncapable to fight.
    Gree was a smart one, he may have noticed that the Republic he swore to protect, did not exist anymore.
    His possibilities may have been very different: From retiring from the GAR and intensify his studies about alien cultures, to join the rebellion (like Rex and Wolffe did)...

    Curious. I knew Bacara was an extremist but didn’t know where it came from. Cody makes sense. Gree, it’s a shame he wasn’t able to avoid Order 66. He would have been an invaluable unifying force for the rebellion with his knack for comprehending alien cultures; unfortunately I doubt he’d break away from his loyalty to the republic/empire even in retirement.

    Didn't expect a clip from BSG 2003.
    Won't be long before we get clips from either Babylon 5, Stargate SG-1, Farscape, and/or Firefly/Serenity, I might say; maybe even some clips from Red vs. Blue (seriously, for a comedy, it sure has some deep quotes).

      Oh yeah, there are a lot of great Red vs Blue clips that can work with Star Wars, like Kimbell's speech in season 13 to get the Feds and the New Republic to work together and how it beautifully reflects wars like The Clone Wars and other wars from Star Wars.
      Kimbell: When you spend every day fighting a war, you learn to demonize your enemies. To you there evil, their sub Human, because if they weren't, what would that make you?

    One of the things that’s incredibly sad to me is that so many of the clones would not have betrayed were it not for the inhibitor chips
    A lot of good people lost their free wills when order 66 went down

    The Republic and the Jedi are not the only ones who enslaved the clones. Their own morals and beliefs within the Republic too have enslaved them from inside out.

    • @FalconWindblader
      @FalconWindblader 2 года назад +7

      The main reason why brainwashing & propaganda are so damn effective. It's quite hard to counter your upbringing when just about everyone around you behaves the same way, & with the people who're technically your slavers breathing down your neck, yet doesn't necessarily mistreat you.

    Some of them get a raw deal in the Clone Wars.
    Yeah I like Rex, but I would of loved seeing the other clones outside of the 501st developed more.
    Could of had a good arc with Gree and Yoda discussing the native population of a previously unexplored planet.
    Bacara would of been excellent to build on during Ahsokas frame arc.
    Cody could of been a real joker, there is clips of him being funny, they should of made him enjoy comedy.
    Missed opportunities really, the arc with Gree and Yoda could of shown how first contact is treated during that time.
    Don't get me wrong the clone wars is a good series, if you look at it without rose tinted glasses you see there was alot they could of went in too.
    Really adding onto the lore of the series.

    Here’s a sad fact about fox: after shooting fives, he ran outside of the warehouse to mourn fives knowing what he just did. That why we don’t see him in the circle. TLDR, Stone, Fives and Thorn dying affected Fox in a really bad way.
