Hey Michael again. I fly for Pilots n Paws out here in the PNW - I have flown dogs from rescues originating in Mexico (Baja) and many from Texas. It is a great mission. Hardest part about it is beating the other guys out here to volunteer to do the flights! Cheers from Seattle ;)

Just found your channel today, I'm not a pilot but I retired from the Navy in 03 working on the F-14 Tomcat. I live in Colona, & years ago I used to hang out along 150 & watch the lanes fly over. Enjoy what you do!!

What yoke mount are you using ? I have a RAM yoke mount but will not open far enough for the larger tube on the Comanche.

Get the one for the Bonanza, it’s basically a large hose clamp with a rubber piece around the inside. Mike

I love the Comanche! If you don’t mind me asking what are the operating costs like? Is insurance bad on it? I’ve been Loki g into them, but don’t know anyone who has one.

    • @pipercomanche2506

I don't know the operating cost I try not to add those up. :-) Insurance is going to depend on hours in retract, IFR rated, etc. You could call your agent and get a quote which should give you a ball park idea. If you would like to talk give me a call and I will try to answer your questions. Mike

Michael Ellis for sure I may take you up on that in the future. I’m doing my research right now. I haven’t locked in on the Comanche 100% but certainly love what it has to offer. I plan on calling AOPA for insurance (that is part of what I pay for a membership for). Thanks for the info!

Hi Michael - Do you know of any CFI's in the Chicago area that could help me with my transition training. Just took possession of my 260 last week but having trouble meeting that insurance requirement.

Hi Gary, No sorry I don't know anyone in Chicago, but I do know someone who might. Call Cliff Wilinski at Heritage Aero in Freeport, IL he might know one or two over that way. Or get on the facebook group or Delphi Forms and ask both of those places can be a wealth of information. Give me a call if you would like to talk. Mike

@@pipercomanche2506 Another question Michael: what your procedure for sumping the tanks to check for water or contamination? Any tips for me?

@@garyguidi5541 Hi Gary, in the hangar I have a creeper and a catch jar. I just slide under, open the little door, and Sump.
If no contamination is found, I pour it back in the tank.
Here is the jar I use.

On the road, I crawl under, it sucks when it’s wet but I do it anyway.

Hi Michael. I've been enjoying your adventures. Would like to have you/your bird appear in an upcoming YT video I'm doing. Can we discuss via phone? Thx/Dave
