- Roller coasters can be found around the globe, providing their riders with thrills and memories to enjoy. Our love of roller coaster stems from our thirst for adrenaline, the desire to travel at high speeds in an apparently uncontrollable manor. But even though roller coasters fix our hunger, there's a lot more that one might not realise. Therefore, in this video, we'll explore the world of roller coasters, and learn more about their types, styles and ride experiences.

Could you maybe do something like "Roller Coaster Forces: Explained" or "what makes us enjoy roller coasters"? You could explain the difference between positive, negative, linear and and lateral forces and zero-G. And how different elements exert different forces on you. Making the ride more enjoyable or sometimes less enjoyable
Those are two great suggestions! I will note them down, thank you :)
I find it funny that it’s mostly just enthusiasts that watch these videos and already know all this stuff lol
Still awesome though
Well its videos like these that bring new people to the community. Also, through other videos, like the safety once, a large number of new people have subscribed to the channel! :)
COASTER BOT the safety on coaster was a pretty hot item when you made your video on it right? After the major smiler accident people were propably looking for videos on coaster safety
COASTER BOT that’s a good point and I still love your videos I’m just saying for many specific videos like
Gerstlauer Explained
The GP may not be interested and the community may already know the current information
(Btw this is CoasterCrabs other channel)
@@coasterbot one person at my school hated roller-coasters, and he started watching loads of videos on coasters in the UK, and when I asked him if he was an enthusiast, he told me that he hated roller-coasters but then he saw a video on how safe they are, and now really wants to ride them, and I think it was your video! your safety video is definitely bringing new people into the community
I am a roller coaster enthusiast but never dig into concepts like G forces or airtime so really appreciate this type of content. Counting on COVID to end soon!!! I need some rush!
I really see this becoming a meme, where you send this video to every enthousiast whenever he makes a GP remark :D
genius
LETS DO IT
r/gatekeeping
I hope this video brings more people to the coaster enthusiast community!
Me too! :)
As long as they don’t turn into those toxic, “RMC-is-the-best-and-everything-else-sucks” kind of enthusiasts, sure!
Great Video. This will help other coaster enthusiasts in development.
Thank you, and I do hope so! :)
Like me!
This is an excellent, well-written, easy to watch video perfect for those just getting into roller coasters. While I enjoyed the broad overview, I would love to see videos covering more advanced aspects of roller coasters such as block zones/brake runs, specific manufacturers and the unique ride experiences they offer, and perhaps new or conceptual ride types. Again, fantastic job.
Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed the video. We have more focused videos on this channel, including in depth explanations of various roller coaster manufacturers and concepts. There will also be more detailed videos on the channel soon, so stay tuned! :)
You have such a calming voice
👏👏👏 congratulations
ha ha thank you, that's very kind :)
As a planet coaster builder, I'm glad I found your channel. This channel might provide me with some more info and inspiration to make my coasters a bit more realistic. Great video
Realism is a great skill that many don't apply to Planet Coaster. Best of luck with making great coasters! :)
Great content for beginners! I may use this on friends who want to know more about my coaster hobby.
Also, for enthusiasts, this video is another great game of "name that coaster."
Thank you, I'm glad you can find multiple uses out of this video! ;)
Your videos are amazing and so informal. I love roller coasters and these videos provide me with easy information. Thank you!!!
Thank you for watching, it really means a lot when people post comments like these. Thanks
Yea Harry definitely don't "need" to watch your vidoes but they're so well made and well edited how can I resist?
You are too kind, thanks for watching! :)
And great video of course as always :D I hope you make a part 2 of this going more in depth about stuff like manufacturers, different elements and coaster types etc
Thank you, that's a great suggestion! :)
A pleasure, as usual
Thanks, you are too kind :)
Perfect video!!!!
Thank you! :)
my new favorite video from you :)
Wow, that's awesome to hear! :)
Outstanding once again!! Good job Bud Harry :)
Thank you, it means a lot! :)
COASTER BOT Your welcome :)
Another great and interesting video. Keep up the great work!!!
Thank you, the support is really appreciated! :)
Fantastic video, Harry! Hopefully these videos will attract new members of the coaster community!
Thank you, that is the plan! :)
We need the new generation 😂
Great job Harry! I hope this video in particular gets many views, because it is about sharing our passion
Thank you. The aim is to try and get more people interested in roller coasters and theme parks in the long run. I appreciate the feedback also, it is always extremely helpful. There will definitely be more videos along the same lines as this one in the future. :)
Fun to watch, even if I know about coasters already. 10/10 as usual.
Awesome, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
This was amazingly informative 👏
Great to hear :)
Loved the use of music in this video!
That's fantastic to hear! :)
This video makes me want to go on a roller coaster! :D
Awesome to hear! :)
Wish someone made videos like yours about aviation. Your videos are so good, I don't even care about rollercoasters that much, but love your videos, so interesting!!
That'd be pretty cool! Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you like my videos, but don't really care for roller coasters, that's very interesting. Regardless, there should be more content coming to the channel soon for those with just a 'general' interest :)
COASTER BOT 😄 not that I dislike rollercoasters, I enjoy riding on them, but your videos highlight that rollercoasters are more interesting than I thought. Also think your production quality and style is very cool and engaging! 😄
Loved the video! I need to use this to introduce my non coaster friends to my hobby when they give me confused looks.
Thanks, that's great to hear! :)
3:38, that glint on the thunderbolt front carriage is beautiful
Lightning Rod
I loved this it needs wayyyyyyyy more views
Thank you, it means a lot :)
Thank you sir... thank you! I feel so much better
That's great to hear, I'm glad you are feeling better about how roller coasters work :)
I want to know more about the types of rails and wheels and contacts between the two. Somehow I find this fascinating.
Great video. Hope I can get over to the UK one day :)
Thank you, I hope you can too, we have some great theme parks! :)
Great video
Thank you! :)
can u do something with inversions explained with differend inversions (looping corcscrew ) and combos off those (cobra roll)
That's a great suggestion. I will note it down, thank you :)
Awesome video! The GP needs to take a couple of courses from you to learn...
Thank you! I hope that everyone can enjoy this video :)
I always wonder were you get all you footage from because it's realy good!
The footage is a combination of mine, and the links within the description. Go and check some of the other footage out! :)
I love coaster community memes
Me too! ;)
Such for GP, much great video.
Thank my dude! :)
COASTER BOT senpai noticed me! Yay! But seriously, i think that this video will help the GP to get to know roller coasters (tell me if i screwed that sentence up). Nice video.
i loved this vid
Awesome! :)
I really love your videos Coaster Bot. Like I don't think you understand lol.
Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoy them a lot! :)
COASTER BOT you're very welcome 😊
I just got into coasters after the discovery of themepark tycoon 2 game on roblox. Thanks for the video, I really want to get into the coaster enthusiast community
Hey that's awesome, thanks for watching! We have a discord server where other coaster enthusiasts chat: coasterbot.com/discord
Has this channel made a video about how the chain on a roller coaster works? Ive just gotten into roller coasters and I’d like to learn more :> I want to also find out how a lap bar/restraint works 👍
He has a video for restraints
"The track remains static"
yeah, I'd kinda hope so
There are many roller coasters out there to which this statement doesn't always agree. ;)
Solid ✊
Thanks man! :)
As a coaster enthusiast, I think this is a good video to start with for people who want to become coaster enthusiast s
Awesome, that's great to hear! :)
10/10. Although, for a minute, I thought you put Fury 325 with Kraken trains on it...
Thank you! :)
you have the best voice .
Thank you! :)
Im a rollercoaster enthusiast !! I’ve ride all of them in Orlando Fl and my top 3 one coasters are : The Incredible Hulk coaster at Islands of adventure , Mako at Seaworld and Sheikra at Busch gardens !!! They’re best in general for me . Have you ride one of the 3 of them ???
Sadly I haven't ridden any of those three, but they all look great!
OMG THAT WAS FARENHEIT AT 1:31
It was!
Hi Harry, great vid! I was wondering, have you considered making a video distinguishing the different rollercoaster manufacturers? I've found that videos like these, especially the safety one, are very useful for sending to my GP friends :p, and I really would want one on the different types of rollercoaster manufacturers and their differences. You mention them in this video, but don't go too in depth.
Littleaa1 yes! A video where he shows the common features of a manufacturer's ride (like what the track looks like) would be amazing!
That is a great suggestion. We begin to do that in the manufacturers explained videos, but creating a single video dedicated to that would be useful! :)
4:18 it is the B I G B O Y helix, back seat on this sends you to another planet!!
'Safety' *shows the smiller*
Brian Spijkers The Smiler is safe.
Fishul is more than correct. If you haven't, go and watch the 'Safety Explained' video to learn about how all roller coasters are safe! :)
Tell that to the people who lost their legs. When a company makes a system that could over rule the safety warnings, then I think it isnt that safe.
Brian Spijkers The Smiler has been operating since 2013 and puts through over 1000 people every hour. 3 people were seriously injured. When you put some perspective on it you start to see how insubstantial it is.
it still happens tho
Fantastic vid harry! Do u think wicker man will burn down once it opens
Thank you! Wicker Man will not burn down once it opens as it would be cleverly designed.
am i the only one who gets giddy when they see a coaster they’ve been on in a video lol
I hate roller coaster, but they're something I just can't keep my mind off. My first coaster was Revolution, when I was 6, and it scarred me. I'm not afraid of heights, but I can't stand the ticklish feeling of a drop. If the ride lacks a drop, I'll most likely go on it. And I can't figure the damn thing out. Loved your presentation!
I understand what you mean, the dropping feeling is something that not everyone enjoys. If you want to ride more roller coasters, I'd suggest starting with smaller ones and working your way up. Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
Thank you! The weird thing is, I plan on going skydiving soon... go figure😀
3:48 RIP Wild Mouse
Indeed :(
I enjoy Coaster Bot
Awesome, I am glad! :)
Loved it even though I’m a patron and I saw it early lol
Awesome, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for being a patron also :)
cool
Harry I know this seems odd but can you do What Is: Apocalypse At Drayton Manor I know it's not a coaster but it intrigues me as it's a stand up drop tower
I will add it to the list, thanks for the suggestion :)
3:48 RIP Wild mouse :(
RIP indeed :(
I just love rollar coasters
Awesome, me too! :)
Based off of what you said, are Larson Super Loops considered roller coasters? I've never quite understood what the difference is between a rollercoaster and not a rollercoaster. Also, Larson Super Loops do not appear on rcdb but the double loops coming out in 2018 are
I would guess that the Larson loops don't twist while the newer design does have a couple of twists. The Larson looper train can't twist or change the angle it's pitching at, while you could put the train from the newer design on a proper coaster layout and expect it to traverse it fine.
But even then it's still confusing. The Larson loop definitely isn't. The double loop thing is in a very grey area.
I will say, it is definitely a flat ride. But I don't think that necessarily makes it not a coaster.
This will really help my GP friends...
Awesome! :)
enjoy?!!?! my first rollercoaster was batman at the magic mountain when I was 14. I thought I was going to die
U is very smart coaster bot GG for u 😉😉😉😉😉😉
Thank you, you are too kind! :)
One day you will be the biggest coaster youtuber
You are too kind. That would be awesome, but I doubt it ;)
I'm amused at how I can keep watching all of these roller coaster videos despite being someone who cannot withstand even the idea of riding one.
Start small and work your way up to the bigger roller coasters. You never know, you might like them! :)
Thanks for the encouragement, but I couldn't. No joke, when I was a child those rides which are basically "spinning teacups but with elevation changes" and the Runaway Train roller coaster for kids was too much for me xD And by that, I mean "scared me so much they had to stop the ride so I could get off".
...actually now I think about it, I think the Runaway Train is what made me so afraid of roller coasters.
Which is your favorite one in Orlando ???
Do you think a wooden inverted coaster would eventually be manufactured/ is it even possible?
I highly doubt it will ever be manufactured. Ultimately, it seems pointless for the effort you'd have to put in to support the track pieces.
Me: *WICKER MAN MEMES* Alton Towers: SW8 Now Being Opened Me: *I NEED TO GO TO ALTON TOWERS!*
GameLandOfficialUk but will it have the BEES?
No turning back...... I made a big mistake riding the scariest ride near my home! Also this video was probably made for me messing up the eurofighter and infinity coaster on the smiler video!
I agree, try and face your fears if you can! :)
I'll try, To Ride It *TWICE*!
i sent this to my gp friends and they lost their fear of rides :D
Awesome to hear!
I slipped and fell on my calculator walking while watching this video. I blame you.
ThrillCapitalJake don't mean to be intrusive but why was your calculator on the floor in the first place?
Oooof, ouch, owwie. Get better soon :)
Cuz I had my backpack there but was too lazy to put it away so it just sat there lol
You should do "Thorpe park: explained"
I do hope to in the future, stay tuned! :)
Does anyone else love watching rides but when they see them irl they are like hell no !!
Tiara Queen no I like them
You are weird
Yeah ik what u mean actually
Only on Kingda Ka did that really happen though.
0:15 *skyrocket ii would like to know your location*
What is the yellow invert?
Odyssey at Fantasy island :)
5:25
Which coaster is that? Probably a Vekoma Boomerang, but why does it have so many crossties?
Looks like Sidewinder @ Hersheypark to me.
It is, Fishul is correct!
James Currie
It has the new vekoma trains running backwards on it, so it was quite obvious that it was a boomerang, but thanks for letting me know (one guy already made a list of all the coasters in the video, so I saw it there).
5:51 wait, stealth doesn’t go that way does it? Great video btw bro
It doesn't, you are right. The image was mirrored to better suit the end cards. Thank you though! :)
COASTER BOT thank you so much for replying, you’ve made my day! Love your channel :)
What’s the aqua blue coaster at 4:10?
Baron 1898 at the Efteling! :)
Baron 1898 at the Efteling, Netherlands.
It's a great dive coaster, here's the video he most likely took the POV from:
ruclips.net/video/iMFbnT-i8uo/видео.html
Hayden R. Baron 1898
COASTER BOT Thanks for replying and everyone else. Definitely knew of Baron and Efteling. Didn’t know the track was so light. Joris en Draak is the real star of Efteling though.
You really should just make a series where you find videos with millions of views that claim rollercoasters are unsafe and just tear them apart with facts.
That would be interesting, but ultimately I don't think it would do much good.
COASTER BOT it would be funny though
Brodie It’s giga MacLeod search GP to enthusiast
Roller coasters are whacky trains that go up, down, and all around the bend. The End.
You aren't wrong!
And upside down.
WOAH WOAH WOAH
Hold the wheel
Did I see rage
Edit:also we need some rides from chessington
Next time I visit Chessington I'll be sure to record some footage! :)
I'm a coaster enthusiast so I found this video boring. The whole time I was like "hoodure". I know this is not meant for me. I was checking if it was enough informations so my friends would understand me when I talk about coasters. Thank you for this video, I really needed it.
It's a shame you didn't enjoy the video, but I am glad you'll get some use out of it :)
“The track remains static”
13 at Alton towers - *oh really*
You say the track remains static during the ride. It doesn’t on Th13teen!
It does on most roller coasters though ;)
What about powered rollercoasters? .-. (yeah i know rollercoasters run on gravity but there is a type that is powered))
Powered roller coasters were briefly discussed in the video :)
Did anybody noticed the mirrored video of Talon at 5:00 lol
Michael Weathers Now it looks like a Batman clone...
Shush ;)
Do Cannibal or Lagoon Explained. Lagoon has quite the history.
Both of those are on the list! :)
You probably got a lot of places on that list. XD
You are correct ;)
Why am I watching is as a half-coaster enthusiast that knows some stuff but not the specifics of the stuff. For an example, I know what a banked turn is, but not what the difference between and overbanked turn and a normal banked turn. I know what a gigacoaster or interverted coaster is, but not a hypercoaster.
Hopefully these videos can help clear up the missing pieces! :)
3rd! (and 10th like)
How often do you post videos
At least every two weeks, but sometimes weekly! :)
Ahhh you actually responded thanks
I miss NovaScienceNever his comments...
luc playsgames where did he go anyway?
Harry finally got uncomfortable with Nova's comments so he stopped, if you want to talk to him you can always join the Coaster Bot Discord ;)
Uncomfortable and slightly nervous.
Fishul well I don't have discord so I just have to dig in the old video comments ;)
If it’s powered then (number)It’sNotACoaster!, the definition of coast is unpowered omt.
Technically though, powered coasters remain under the effect of gravity, as they speed up when going down drops. Therefore, they coast, just like any other normal roller coaster. :)
It’s not a coaster!
I think maybe you’ve been on one too many Larson Stupid Loops
I’ve ridden roller coasters with 7 inversions
Awesome! :)
Ik most U.K. Coasters
Awesome! :)
Whag coaster is at 1:57
The Big One
Superloops, coaster or not? I don't count them as coasters
I don't don't them as coasters either.
Why music?
Music makes it less boring! :)
Rollercoaster roughness:explained
Gold Striker Enthusiast it’s caused by the difference in height of the two rails, and the sharpness of inversions or banks.
I knew that but I though there was more to it, well anyways, thanks for clearing it up
Gold Striker Enthusiast in theory it means single rail coasters will be perfectly smooth
