Back when we could have different opinions without being demonized for them and still come together for worthy causes without bitterness getting in the way or getting cancelled for not following the group think. Miss those times.
I agree, but sadly I think this was a once in a generation type thing. Powerful song, bringing powerful performers ( many at the very peak of their success) together. Leaving egos at the door, and all putting such an incredible performance together. Several of these performers were chart topping over and over at the time of this and they agreed to join this even if they only got to perform one line, or even a partial line.. INCREDIBLE.
Cyndi Lauper, when she opened her mouth and in three words; "Well Well Well" She made the whole bunch of legends sit up and take notice. She gave the performance of a lifetime on that song.
Honestly, apart from MJ, she had the best take, in my opinion. She nailed it every time she opened her mouth. Quincy Jones shouted, "gold!, gold!, gold!".
I wholeheartedly agree with you. The people have to get back to just basically trying to get along. Violence just breeds more violence. Like the old song says Put A Little bit of Love In your Heart. And the World Will Be A better Place for You and Me.

Your reactions are so pure and heartfelt and anyone not being moved to tears for this amazing collaboration is made of stone. The most important song from the '80s - THIS was what the decade was all about.
You have many great artists like Willie Nelson, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan or Ray Charles...but the air changes when Michael Jackson appears in the video, right? Just look at her eyes
Is this girl beautiful ? She is EXTREMELY beautiful ! Her face , her smile , everything is beautiful. And well educated ! Go on , beautiful lady. And thanks for all your reacts.
I saw an interview of Katherine Jackson where she was talking about how Michael Jackson saw a commercial on TV about starving children in Africa and how kids were dying. And he told his Mom, "Someday, I'm going to do something about that." I had always known this song, but didn't know he wrote it to help others. He was such a brilliant man who cared for everyone.
All they needed to do was play this version. It's the greatest and will not be replicated in any way. No need, JUST PRESS PLAY, LISTEN, RECEIVE AND REPEAT 💜
People still care for eachother. I live in the south alabama and we were just battered by hurricane sally and down every road there were people helping others and giving water. People helping get trees off of people houses. We cleaned up debris from around my house but also every house on my street. This world still has good in it.
@@IggyStardust1967 it's a damn shame that you think the only time we help eachother is during a natural disaster. I just used the hurricane as a reference. I don't know how it is where you live, but where I come from we are there for eachother. Example: woman across the street 88 years old lives alone and her family lives in different states so we take care of her. The whole neighborhood gets her groceries, new clothes, we cut her lawn, get her mail. All things we don't have to do but we do because there are good people out there.
Brianna Watkins I live in Baltimore, and I have seen people ignore others in immediate distress. They don’t want to get involved, in case something bad happens to them for “doing the right thing”. The old adage of “No good deed goes unpunished” is alive and well here. Compassion is hard to come by, here. Not impossible, but quite rare.
I was part of the line of people holding hands through Flagstaff, Arizona, when they played this song, at the same time, all over the world. I have a vinyl record of it, and had everyone in our group sign it. We all added money that was for Africa. Was Amazing situation for the USA.
We definitely need another rendition of this beautiful song to show unity against the Fight of covid19 and to show support to everyone who has lost loved ones and to thank the Healthcare workers ... because we as the World will definitely come out on Top🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝❤️

One of the best songs EVER! I was a teenager back then. Brought me goosebumps! Now it brings me to my knees in tears! So much has happened in the world since then! But the song STILL fits!
All l have to say is "The Boss" Mr Bruce Springsteen!!! His voice alone can only compare to @ least 4 of any other stars you can choose from the lot!!!
Girl, I've always loved that song/video, but seeing your reaction made me cry. The tears were also in part because some of the great artists performing the song have since passed on. I'm glad you watched it straight through without stopping it multiple times. Great song pick and well done.
Beautiful reaction! I think we need to bring back this video and its message for the world today. We are all, first and foremost, human beings. We just need to put aside differences and respect and love each other.
Wonderful reaction! Have you reacted to "Do They Know It's Christmas Time " by Band Aid in 1984? It was the one that inspired this one and was made up of British singers. :) love your channel! Have a blessed day!
Also the Canadian version, "Tears Are Not Enough" by Northern Lights. All of Canada's talent; song written & Produced by THE David Foster; lyrics by Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance & Rachael Paiemont. It, too, won a Grammy and Juneau awards.
I remember when this came out, it was and is a beautiful song. Young lady ive found myself looking forward to your post. I love watching your reactions. God bless you, i hope that you have a joyous and blessed day.
This is my write up when I share the song... On January 28th, 1985, music producer Quincy Jones gathered 46 world renowned singers to record 'We Are The World'; penned by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson, to help raise money for the famine relief in Ethiopia. What has been called the first viral campaign ever, producers asked radio stations to debut the song, at the same time, on Good Friday; April 5th 1985 at 10:50 am EST. With much surprise to all involved, the release shattered all expectations with over 8000 radio stations in 25 countries across the globe, including all-news stations, the BBC, Armed Forces Radio, and MTV simultaneously airing the song. This feat was all accomplished before the invention of the internet and cell phones. The record and video were an instant success topping multiple music charts throughout the world. It was the fastest selling pop single ever in the US, topped the music charts in numerous countries and became the first certified multi-platium single ever. It is estimated to have sold 20 million copies worldwide. It won numerous awards including The Grammy for Record and Song of the Year. By the end of the decade, it would become the best selling record of the 80's. With record and merchandise sales, 'We Are The World' raised over $63 million for Africa's relief fund ($149 million in today's dollars). It was absolutely astonishing to see what one song could do for humanity. Not only for the ones who were suffering needlessly from drought and famine but how it brought the masses together...no matter the color or creed. I share this with you because we need more of this right now; more than ever before. Trust me when I say that the artists involved in the following video were masters of their genre of music. That recording studio showcased incredible talents...the likes we'll never see again. This song hits the feels on so many levels. If you take away a fraction of how I feel about it, then my job is complete. I'll say it again...we need more of this!
The few seconds of Harry Belafonte always get to me. He's the one that got the ball rolling on this project on the American side, yet he puts himself way in the back like an extra and still sings his heart out. Good man.

And girl, you are a beautiful person inside and outside, I probably been born in the wrong country and the wrong culture... LOVED this reaction... MJ was not my favorite artist then, but now I am older and wiser, and I see his greatness.. But in this song I will always chose Stevie Wonder who is one of my all time heroes! Listen to this musical marvel, he made a debut on album when he was just 12 and was called Little Stevie Wonder... My choice as Black Artist of the 20th century!

Never did realized how soulful and strong cyndi lauper s voice was. She stands out so much.
Your emotions are priceless listening to this amazing song with amazing artists in the wonderful decade of the 1980s ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you!😊
Welcome x
Your reactions are so pure and heartfelt and anyone not being moved to tears for this amazing collaboration is made of stone. The most important song from the '80s - THIS was what the decade was all about.
greatest decade of all time
I feel you sister, the world was a better place then, sending ❤️ from Scotland 😍
Never has there been a group of more talented singers group together in one place at one time. I am happy you're just for watching this video
You have many great artists like Willie Nelson, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan or Ray Charles...but the air changes when Michael Jackson appears in the video, right? Just look at her eyes
Yes she totaly lost it and had to pause.
I felt the same way about Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Michael Jackson. It was like, WOW, here are the big stars!!!
@@danwest9900 The big, Big, BIG stars! Damn, when I watched Ray Charles singing.......
Probably because she did not recognise the others lol.
Cyndie Lauper James Ingraham Dionne Warwick the Jacksons including latoya lol and such a range of other voices and genre
Is this girl beautiful ? She is EXTREMELY beautiful ! Her face , her smile , everything is beautiful. And well educated ! Go on , beautiful lady. And thanks for all your reacts.
Aww, thank you!❤️
I criyed too. It's great. love Michael Jackson.amazing music video.
You're such an open-hearted young woman. Lovely to see.
Michael was responsible for raising $25 billion for kids in Africa. Truly one of a kind.
I'm in my forties and I still tear up when I hear this song we are God's children which makes us brothers and sisters peace
This song will never age!
One of the greatest collections of vocal talent in one place,
and atop - Quincy Jones - one of the greatest record producers ever.
There was a remake of this done about 10 years with more "current" artists, but it still doesnt hold a candle to this....
Where can I hear it?
It certainly doesn't.
All they needed to do was play this version. It's the greatest and will not be replicated in any way. No need, JUST PRESS PLAY, LISTEN, RECEIVE AND REPEAT 💜
It was flat out dismal compared to
@@karenduguid3943 on RUclips.
Beautiful. I got teary again, especially when Michael sang :(
From a time a long time ago, when the world was a much better place. When people cared about each other.
People still care for eachother. I live in the south alabama and we were just battered by hurricane sally and down every road there were people helping others and giving water. People helping get trees off of people houses. We cleaned up debris from around my house but also every house on my street. This world still has good in it.
@@briw4957 Damned shame that it literally takes a disaster of epic proportions to bring Americans together...
@@IggyStardust1967 well hopefully they the next generation in Baltimore will step up.
Great collection of legendary performers. Loved to see her reaction to Michael Jackson and Ray Charles.
I was 20 years old when I saw the premier of it on MTV in March of 1985. It was a powerful video then and it still is.
i was 17........not a fan of this kind of music YET IT BLEW ME AWAY!!
Michael warned us but we never understand his word's.
sorry Mike the world is still cruelty . . Today we need this beautiful song during this covid pandemic. .
Michael your legacy will live forever 😢 rest in heaven. .😢😢
I remember it as yesterday ! It is a wonderful song from all these artists for Africa. I love You’re emotional reaction! Much love ❤️ from Holland !💋🇱🇺🙋🏼♂️
Thank you 😍
You just made a grown man cry... hard.. It is nice to see everyone together. The world needs this now. I'm smitten.
hi guys just look at all theses famous people how young they are well your looking at about 35 years ago boy just how time flies man ; (
You reacting was just as touching as the song. You my dear are lovely 💜
I am 72 years old and I saw this when it premiered in 1985. There hasn't been anything like it since. So many great artists "checking their egos at the door" and bringing the world a vision we still need today. I love your reaction. Check out some of the work of the artists you didn't know.
This is what we live for.... the power of music 👍🎶🌈
One of the best songs EVER! I was a teenager back then. Brought me goosebumps! Now it brings me to my knees in tears! So much has happened in the world since then! But the song STILL fits!
Я старый русский и помню всех ваших исполнителей и люблю! верните мне то время!
All l have to say is "The Boss" Mr Bruce Springsteen!!! His voice alone can only compare to @ least 4 of any other stars you can choose from the lot!!!
They are the best singers of the 80's.
This is the greatest music video of vocal talents ever put together in history.
Saw it on tv in the 80s. Crying was the order of the day for all of us watching. Most excellent. Thank you.
Girl, I've always loved that song/video, but seeing your reaction made me cry. The tears were also in part because some of the great artists performing the song have since passed on. I'm glad you watched it straight through without stopping it multiple times. Great song pick and well done.
That is a beautiful song. We need someone to do this in 2020 for the homeless, the hungry,,,etc,
Beautiful reaction! I think we need to bring back this video and its message for the world today. We are all, first and foremost, human beings. We just need to put aside differences and respect and love each other.
Steven Petersen well said👩🏼🦳
💯
A Greater Assemble than the Avengers. What incredible and legendary talent.
🙂
Wonderful reaction! Have you reacted to "Do They Know It's Christmas Time " by Band Aid in 1984? It was the one that inspired this one and was made up of British singers. :) love your channel! Have a blessed day!
Also the Canadian version, "Tears Are Not Enough" by Northern Lights. All of Canada's talent; song written & Produced by THE David Foster; lyrics by Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance & Rachael Paiemont. It, too, won a Grammy and Juneau awards.
@@minty_Joe somehow I've never heard that song before. I just listened to it and love it! Thank you for mentioning it :)
@@footballlover9207 You're welcome. :-)
Beyond legendary. This is a mythic performance. Once in a millennia.
I remember when this came out, it was and is a beautiful song. Young lady ive found myself looking forward to your post. I love watching your reactions. God bless you, i hope that you have a joyous and blessed day.
Aww, thank you!!
Amen! Do have a blessed day ahead as well!😊
This is my write up when I share the song...
This song changed many lives in Africa for generations ❤️
I've seen this person in reaction videos before and they were good. Here she is herself and a most beautiful person.
It still makes me cry after all these years....I'm so happy to see you were as affected as me....huggz 🤗❤
Powerful song back then and forever
All these years later I still love this song and believe wholeheartedly in the words.
The world needs to put this song on repeat on the loudest speakers and let it play for the next year straight
ThIs was the most authentic/genuine reaction of this song that I have come across in RUclips! Thank you for making me 😢 all over again!
The few seconds of Harry Belafonte always get to me. He's the one that got the ball rolling on this project on the American side, yet he puts himself way in the back like an extra and still sings his heart out. Good man.

No it doesn't..Amazing
Wow! Nice job putting the list together. I agree, it doesn't get any better than this!
If this does not make you feel happy, you are probably dead... and I'm a metal head!
The chorus is full of big stars too - - Harry Belafonte, Bette Midler, a bunch of Jacksons, a few Pointer SIsters, Dan Ackroyd and many more.
I Remember When This Came Out In 1985
What A Beautiful Song For The Time With A Lot Of Beautiful People Singing Plus Quincy
It's Even More Beautiful Hearing it In 2020
