So - why not tell your audience what the 7 chord is and what note in the D chord your modifying and why. This would help those who don’t quite know the make-up of chords (1,3,5).
Good point and thank you for the comment. I give in person lessons and 99 percent of students just want to learn how to play. It’s very rare that I am asked “why” a chord is a chord. I do want to do a video on music theory for guitar though that will not only explain how chords are made and why, but why guitarists should learn it 😀
