Hooked by Robin is certainly a very good user name, as I most certainly hooked by this video. It actually looks quite complicated to do, but in fact it's very easy, made all the more easier by the clear instructions. I can knit but never got the hang of crochet until a few weeks ago, and have found crochet so much easier. Anyway having watched video a few times I decided to give this flower a try, took me a bit of time and a few mistakes, but got there in the end. Many thanks for the video and your clear instructions.
You’re so right, once you get going with these they definitely become easier.😃 You’re also doing better than me, I can’t knit at all.😅 I’m so glad you like my videos, thank you for being here.x
@@HookedbyRobin The funny thing is that I crochet like i'm knitting, I can't seem to get the hang of the way crochet is usually done. Perhaps in time i'll get the knack to it, but for now the knitting type crochet works for me.
@MrsDinosaur100 lots of people hold their yarn in the right hand when crocheting, the same way they do when knitting and throw the yarn over in exactly the same fashion so you're not alone! No need to change how you're doing it, if it works for you then that's all that matters 😃
I've said it before .. but your videos are fantastic!! I'd lost my crafty mojo!! Then walked past a wool stall today and remembered how much you - yes YOU got me into crochet.. Just made a spiral flower and I ❤ it!! Thank you.. I can see a weekend head of crochet flowers coming up!!! yay x Thanks Robin 💕
I’m really enjoying making these! I’ve made a slight adjustment, tho. When you’re working back up the second side of the front “loop”, I attach the third DC that I make to the third DC (up from the center) of the “loop” next to it. This way, the loops stay reasonably open and standing upright. Now, I’ve encased my flowers in a granny-type square, and I’ll be combining my squares into a flower garden afghan. Excited! Thank you for this video!
These are very lovely Robin. You video was very clear n easy to follow. I’m 66 n started crocheting when I was 22, but taught myself most of what I know now. These would make lovely hot pads on a dinner table, using larger hooks. And even pot holders. Could use holiday colors as well. Many options. These with some gift towels would make nice gifts. Just add a hanging loop at the end. Slip stitch to the top of one of the petals. Thanks again for sharing!!
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial as a new crocheter my Facebook feed has been showing similar flower ideas without explanation or stich counts. You made this very clear!
Wow! I cannot believe I actually did this! It took me two hours, but with your thorough and amazing tutorial, I made this lovely flower. Thank you so much! 🌸
Yes, as Cay said you can make your magic circle with perhaps 48 dc's or increase from 24 with multiples of 6. From there, follow the pattern, but you'll have extra petals. I'll give it a try and report back.
I am going to make one of sparkly red yarn for a Christmas tree topper! (At my son’s house we have a cat who tries to eat Christmas trees, and has had surgery to remove both real pine needles and fake pine needles, so I am making a construction paper tree that will hang on the wall and have command hooks to hold the lights and ornaments). This will be perfect with a white sparkly pompom in the center!
Ooo love the idea of the Christmas tree topper Vickie! 🎄 And oh my gosh, to your cat. Somehow our tree is still standing every year even though we have cats.😂
Wow I love this effect, going to have a go. I'm also going to try a magic ring to see how it forms, wish me luck! Update: enjoyed making this flower and I used the magic ring which pulled the centre together very well. These would make excellent Christmas tree decorations in red, green and white!
Robin I love your work and your teaching methods. Very easy to follow as I am new to crochet. My question is “do you have a video on how to attach your spiral 3D Flower together’? Will make a beautiful bed spread! Thanks for your help, Janie
Thank you Robin! I have never been able to quite figure out how to do these 3-D stitches. You've made it very easy to follow. I will definitely be making this.
Really pretty. I've just been into one of your yarn recommendations, and spent my birthday money 😀. New to crochet, but it was your channel that taught me were others have failed. Love the No Music in the background, when you are a beginner it's so distracting.
Ooh, lovely! I have completed one of these and it came out beautifully - without me using any swears, which is an achievement in itself 😌 I'm going to make a few more and see if I have the patience to turn them into squares, then make a bag out of them! Fantastic tutorial as always, thank you Robin 🥰
This was great and so much fun to make❤...I've made so many of your things and this was just another one off the list....Thank again and Happy crocheting everyone 😊
hiya robin! i see lots of uses for this! i have always shied away from flowers but this is soooo doable. made into pins for hats and coats, seasonal decorations... thanks for sharing!! xoxo
Very pretty. How do you come up with such beautiful ideas? Thank you as always for your well thought out and simple instruction. You are a good teacher :)
Loved making this! Great video! So easy to replicate your videos. Do you think you will design something like an afghan, shaw, or cardigan with this flower?
Robin, I'm sure someone has already asked you this (sorry, I've not read through the other comments yet), but is there any way to make these beautiful flowers into a granny square? What a beautiful afghan that would make!!
Looking for another flower? How about this one! ruclips.net/video/GOv85SJbTU0/видео.html 👈😀🧶
I know these are technically flowers but I see myself using them as snowflake shapes for my Xmas tree 🤩🤩
That is a lovely idea Abby! 😃
I love this as a snowflake Christmas ornament !

How did you make them into a granny square? I had a similar idea, but I haven’t figured out how to make them into a square and still look right.
I love this quick and easy pattern and now I can't stop making them!
That’s what I like to read, yay!😃😍
Hi I just found this and as I am getting married in July so I am using a magic ring as I use these flowers for my bridesmaids and myself.
Congratulations! 🥳 That will be so beautiful. Have a wonderful day Stacey.x

Thank you so much for that video, the Spiral 3D Flower is beautiful. I think I might make a few in white for Christmas decorations.
You are welcome Nancy and great idea! 🤗🧶
So cute!!! I just made one in all white. I can't believe how easy that was. It turned out just as good as yours. 🥰
Yay! Well done Roberta 😃🧶
Thank you so much! You’re teaching style is absolutely perfect for me! I really appreciate your videos.
Thank you so much!🤗🧶
I see a great niece or 4 (lol)getting some headbands with these as embellishments 👑😍😁
Cute! 😃🧶
I finished mine, off-white with red center.
That sounds beautiful Carrie!😃🧶

Well done Amy, that’s great! 😃
Ok... I made one. It was easy, fast, and awesome
Yay! Well done Rochelle.😃🤗
omg these are sure cute!!! Is there perhaps a way to extend to make more petals? They would be super cute for plate decorations.
Why not just sew several together?
I'd guess that if you make the middle bigger, you can attach more of those arches and thus form more petals. I can't give you any numbers, though.
Yes, as Cay said you can make your magic circle with perhaps 48 dc's or increase from 24 with multiples of 6. From there, follow the pattern, but you'll have extra petals. I'll give it a try and report back.
