- The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was released in 2000. Majoras is a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time. Although at first it may seem like an iterative sequel, the game experiments in some bold ways. Join me in this restrospective of The Evolution of Zelda as we review one of the weirdest games in the series.

The Evolution of Zelda is a series where I'll be playing every Zelda game in release order and reviewing how each game evolves from the last. Having played very few games in the series previously, it's a huge blind spot for me that I've never experienced before.
Join me next time as I play Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons on the Game oy.
All Gameplay is my own and all music is from Majora's Mask

It's amazing to think that this game was a rush job.
My favorite Majora's mask memory is exploding Sakon. My least favorite was showing up to Romani ranch at 2:33 AM (in game time) and not being allowed to enter. Nothing blocking the entrance but a text box that says "you can't enter now something is happening.". They could have at least put some sort of barrier or wall made of light but no, just a text box...
I prefer it when sequels use a lot of the same mechanics and appearance as the predecessor. I find this gives the game familiarity and continuity. My first Zelda game was Ocarina of time and then I got Majoras mask a few months after completing OOT so for me it was simply picking up where I left off but imagine my shock when I seen Windwaker in its wildly different style.
Thoroughly enjoy these videos. Top notch. Keep it up!
Thanks!
Nice vid, good job!
I disagree with your opinion on bosses. Goht was quite the experience!
That's fair enough. I didn't dislike the bosses but I definitely prefered the ones in Ocarina, maybe I'm only remembering the good ones from Ocarina though
