      nah, Adrienne claps and then the audience follows suit as sort of a second thought. Jeannie claps with the audience.

      +VONiiE8 Yeah. It's different. You can tell from the past season too. Jeannie will clap to involve the audience. To keep them engaged, she'll refer to them. Adrienne usually always looks at the audience after she's made a point or starts clapping because she wants the applause.

    I don't mind women showing their natural hair. There is no good or bad hair, it's just what the media and people put in your head. Yes, you can switch it up whenever you want to but you should always be proud of your natural hair and texture and raise your daughters to do the same.

    I have to admit Loni's comment about comparing her natural hair to Adrienne's natural hair is the reason why some black women feel like there is something wrong with their hair. These backwards standards of beauty that dictate that the silkier your hair, the more beautiful, is ridiculous. The truth is, if you LEARN to take care & style your kinky/coily hair, you can slay just as well as the next woman with straight silky hair. I for one KNOW this because I rock my natural hair and I know for a fact that it is beautiful. This is not to say that there's anything wrong with black women rocking weaves/wigs/clip in extensions etc. I used to wear them myself as a protective style or to change it up. And my boyfriend being a white guy (was also confused about weaves like Adam lmao) but I was never hesitant to show him my natural hair; he thinks it's beautiful. It's literally the texture that grows out of your scalp; why not love it? So Loni, saying your hair underneath is different from Adrienne's as a way of saying that she can let her man take off her extensions and not you is just silly. Lol I was having question marks in my head at her comment. Otherwise, I loved this discussion lol

    • @Bluutifulsoul
      @Bluutifulsoul 8 лет назад +4

    • @daynamonet
      @daynamonet 8 лет назад +3

      once again another person reading too much into it. she was just explaining that her texture of hair is different from Adrienne which is true. she's not saying I don't like my natural hair and I prefer adrienne's. what r ya'll hearing for real?

    • @Alison-ru1jn
      @Alison-ru1jn 8 лет назад +2

      Morgan Johnson Yeah I get that she's speaking for herself but they have a platform and many viewers/followers. Some women might think it's okay that she feels negatively about her hair.

    • @Alison-ru1jn
      @Alison-ru1jn 8 лет назад +7

      ***** You're going to ignore the way she said it though? She literally said, "I look like Esther Rolle up under here. I don't want him to see that." Tell me that was not said as thought it was a bad thing. And Adrienne literally had to argue back and say, "What if he's into that Esther Rolle?" I rest my case.

    • @loveislouderrrrr

  • @vlo4829
    @vlo4829 8 лет назад +50

    This is why a lot of people believe weaves are a sign of self-hate. Too many black women think like Loni. Kinky hair may be difficult, but there are plenty of ways to make it look good. You just have to be willing to accept that "good hair" or "beautiful hair" doesn't have to be long, straight and flowing. And women who say the men won't accept them should know that it's not about the men. Men can see your beauty. It's all about yourself and your own insecurities...

    • @vlo4829
      @vlo4829 8 лет назад +4

      I want to add though that I'm glad Loni said it. Whether we like what she said or not, it felt "real" and it opens discussion much better than trying to be PC.

    • @nishabukumuna9856
      @nishabukumuna9856 8 лет назад +1

      no because weave is a protective style

    • @HappyWackyJacky101
      @HappyWackyJacky101 7 лет назад

      absolutely! but I don't think its that many women compared to the women who are now accepting or who have always accepted their natural hair. I have many aunts who are hair stylists and they told me that recently they haven't been putting weaves in anymore but get customers who only want to wash their natural hair or put in box braids or twists or bantu knots as protective styles. Weaves are protective styles too but a lot of black girls don't want it anymore! I certainly don't hahahaha! but I do love love wigs, because I refuse to apply heat to my hair and I want it to grow without too much manipulating to cause it to break (my hair breaks easily, but its been getting stronger because I add oils before I put on a wig!) it has nothing to do with "self-hate" per se but I want to have different styles without actually damaging my real hair, some girls wear weave for this reason and others like myself just wear wigs or put in braids occasionally. Never leave out your natural hair in the winter! esp if its brittle and breaks easily! it would be better to cover it and protect it even if its a weave

    loni and jeannie are both ignorant. loni just because your hair is a certain texture does not mean all Black girls have the same. Our hair comes in so many different curly to kinky patterns. And adrienne's hair is not that different. She straightens it just like all the other spanish girls with naturally curly hair. Jeannie cannot be serious thinking that taking clip-ons out is the same as taking out a sew-in. It's way more complicated.

    • @ladyrodriguez6811
      @ladyrodriguez6811 8 лет назад +10

      I feel like the point was about letting your man see the transition. Not about hair texture or type of weave, it's about letting them in on the "behind the scenes" of it all.

  • @chuckie102883
    @chuckie102883 8 лет назад +12

    I'm glad Lonnie addressed the elephant in the room. Black girls wear hair that is NOT similar to their natural kinky hair texture whereas Latinas or White girls that wear hair pieces only wear pieces to blend in with their natural hair, that's the difference.

    • @CoCoGemel
      @CoCoGemel 8 лет назад +10

      I still don't understand how that is relevant to what she said. Why does that make our natural hair less appealing to look at under weave than a Latino's?

    • @chuckie102883
      @chuckie102883 8 лет назад +1

      +madeyoulook ask Loni! She's the one who said it. My guess would be kinky hair is less appealing looking than straighter/open curled silky type hair which is why most black girls prefer to wear weaves that resemble Asian, Latin, European hair texture? (I know some wear Afro textured weaves too).

    • @asmrqueen4627
      @asmrqueen4627 8 лет назад

      adriennes natural curly hair is far different from a black curly hair person... point blank. So either way if she decides not to wear a weave I'm pretty sure 10/10 she would still look better than a black chick with natural hair ... unless the black chick has them pretty spiral curls but other than that , thats it.

    Ayesha and Stephen are blessed to have each other for real! Stephen is a good man for doing that, and with those kitchen shears too omg...but he's being super careful and it's really lovely how much Ayesha trusts him.
    But Loni's comments...smh I love her but she definitely has some issues because there is nothing wrong with any black woman's natural hair. Take care of it and it will thrive. Natural hair is gorgeous in all its different coils/curl patterns and lengths. We have the most unique hair texture in the world but instead we beat it into submission and hide it because....? Loni and black women like her need to look deep within themselves to love themselves, seriously now. I thought we would have moved past using wigs and weaves as beauty crutches or a more acceptable way to present ourselves to the world. Just consider them as beauty options. Self-love is important, and so many men actually love and prefer natural hair as opposed to weave/wigs/relaxed hair so I don't know why some sisters still get insecure about how men perceive them. It's not about them anyway, it's about loving yourself and the beauty that radiates from within when you do. If you rock your natural hair with confidence, there is nothing more beautiful.
