Why do you have that 3 goddess worship symbol on your cover page for this show ! That has NOTHING to do with the trinity ? How could you knowing sooo much do this ? Please respond . I'm an ordained man of God . Through the process so please I am needing you to respond .
This series for lack of better words has been SO helpful!! I grew up with very general “traditional” end times only knowing/ hearing about the left behind narrative lol but I always felt and truly believed that Jesus HAD to be ruling after He rose from the grave and etc. this series has made the most sense and really connected my core beliefs that I couldn’t put into words! lol I think I’ve officially changed my mind and am definitely reformed in this! I’m still super confused about the resurrection of the saints & new heaven & earth so I’m excited to learn about that in videos to come!! 😁 Thank you for ALL the ministry apalogia does! Praise God for all your faithfulness!!
@Country, sorry friend but you are deceived by Jeff and his unbiblical teachings on eschatology. Jeff twists God's word just like the Devil when it comes to eschatology. Stay away from him please for your sake. Please study Scripture on your own on eschatology and you will know that Jeff is false on eschatology. To believe Jeff's eschatology is to go against God's word. There are dosens and dosens OT prophecies that the only way that they can be fulfilled and will be fulfilled is when Jesus Christ reigns from the throne of David in Jerusalem in His earthly kingdom which will last 1000 years just like Revelation 20 says. It says it 6 times 1000 year reign of Christ, but a fool like Jeff and others who believe his eschatology claim that's all symbolic. Hmmm please tell how can a 1000 year reign of Christ here on earth of which he gave prophecies in the OT about His reign in His earthly kingdom be symbolic. God is not a liar, Jeff is a liar. Trust God's word, study the promises of God in the OT to His people Israel and you will know the truth about God's eschatology not Satan's eschatology as president by Jeff. Remember mixing some truth of God's word with the lies of the Devil is Satan's work from the beginning.
The new heaven and earth is the New Covenant. The resurrection had to have happened in 70AD, or we would not be in the New Covenant. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (Matthew 5:18)
Why not a debate with Joel Richardson instead? There seems to be the view that it's either what Apologia believes or those believe Hibbs and McArthur, or who read the Left Behind series (i.e., the pre-tribulation rapture theory, which emerged in the early 1800s). There are more than two views. Apologia Studios seems to be fixed on only two views.
I doubt that Jack Hibbs would debate him. They really do need to debate, because not many people know there’s another side that makes more sense. Jack Hibbs really has nothing go on, just what he was taught from Chuck Smith. If they would debate, I would pay to see it. Jeff Durbin would blow him out of the water.
The problem with your interpretation of Matthew is that when Jesus says "this generation" He is indeed speaking to that generation but the entire prophetic section of scripture is almost always written in a prophetic parallel. If a false prophet claims something and there isnt some evidence of the claim Israel is commanded to stone them, because of that there are many many times, too many to name in a YT comment and I learned their 10,000 word limit the hard way, but often that its for the audience of that time like when Jesus is speaking to the Jews in His time in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21......it is for them, the ones still alive in 70AD when they saw the armies of Rome surrounding Jerusalem and remembered Jesus words, if they fled.....not even stopping to go get their coats, they escaped and lived. The ones that didnt either died or were enslaved by Rome. Now that fulfilled Jesus words in Matthew 24, partly, Nero didnt sacrifice and desecrate the 2nd Temple, he was dead in 70 AD, just Titus did have it torn down brick by brick. There was no greatest earthquake, there was no Armageddon and Jesus definitely didnt come down from Heaven and touch the mouth of Olives and spilt it in two (im borrowing from other prophecy and some from the OT like Zechariah) So right there proof positive that you and this teaching is wrong. Now if you are wrong, and you are, were do you go from here? I can tell you with 100% certainly that Christianity doesnt take over the world like you believe absent Jesus Christ physically ruling from Jerusalem and that is what you all teach. This is dangerous because you are dipping poison into sound Bible teachings and I vehemently reject it.
Scripture can be both immediately applicable to the audience at the time AND relevant to end times prophecy. This is exactly what occurs multiple times in Isaiah when he prophecies the first and second coming of Jesus in literally the same sentence. I believe this is called a chiasm. In order to come to your conclusions, you must take a ton of scripture metaphorically-which is what you do. It would be helpful to have some guests on who take a different viewpoint and hash it out.
He literally explained parts of the Bible that are meant to be literal are literal. It’s about the audience, literary genre, language, and culture of that time that makes a difference. For instance something we see as minuscule could’ve been a huge problem back then. Or different words had different meanings in that day due to language and dialect. It’s important to know this. Jeff knows what he’s talking about and used to hold a premillennial view as I used to as well. When someone sat down and showed me context, it made perfect sense. Btw premillennial views of eschatology didn’t exist until the 1800s. The disciples held “post millenial views” bc they didn’t classify it as such, esp because they were living it.
Agreed Dustin, and postmil here too. Yeah, dispensational premil has only been a thing for the last 2 minutes of church history, basically. That should make us all question it.
Another point about the second coming a lot of people misinterpret is the the actual "coming" aspect. If you look at the new testament passages that quote Isaiah, most if not all of them say something to the effect of "behold, the son of man is coming on the clouds of heaven" - giving rise to our incredible rapture theologians. What they miss though, is that in Daniel's prophecy, it specifically says the son of man is GOING up to heaven. The greek word used in the new testament can be used for both coming or going and is context dependent.
Good point.... Forgive me, I'm kinda new to this, but still believe in the pre- tribulation. (I think that means the tribulation hasn't happened yet) So doesn't it also say somewhere about the 144,000 Jews preaching the gospel in this time and the number of people that will be saved in this time could not be numbered? Either way history seems to repeat itself.
During this time there were so many that died in the water that it just turned red. Fits perfectly. Read The Jewish War by Josephus. It’s like reading the great tribulation passage verbatim but with all of the detail.
@dauntusviews you are dedeceived with Jeff's eschatology, he is a false teacher when it comes to eschatology. I hate to say this but Jeff twists God's word just like the Devil when he teaches his unbiblical eschatology. Stay away from him he is leading many astray with his false eschatology teachings
I would like to see Jeff Durbin, and Michael Brown debate on this subject. Both men are respectful, and gracious. I believe it would be a good natured and a very edify debate.
Based on the broader biblical text, it can be understood that there are multiple instances or types of tribulation described: 1. **Historical Tribulations**: Specific events, such as the tribulation experienced by early Christians, particularly during the first century, can be seen as fulfilling Jesus’ prophecy in Matthew 24. 2. **Future Tribulation**: Various passages in the Bible, especially in Revelation, suggest a future period of significant tribulation that precedes the final return of Christ and the establishment of God's kingdom. 3. **Ongoing Trials**: Throughout the New Testament, believers are often warned about the challenges and persecutions they will face, indicating that tribulation is a part of the Christian experience in various forms. In summary, the biblical narrative suggests both historical and future tribulations, indicating that tribulation can occur in different contexts and times.
A new Christian hears this & is immediately confused. It's obvious to even a casual reader that Revelation speaks about future events. Apologia is excellent in most areas yet errs when it comes to eschatology. Fortunately, saints may disagree on non-core doctrines.
You say obvious but none of the meaning in Rev is obvious without a deep understanding of then entire Bible; especially the OT. So the casual reader and new Christians would be confused more from the lack of knowledge than from this podcast. The tradition of 90% of the church in America is Dispensational Premilinialism, so naturally anything else is going to be confusing. But you are correct to point out that what John wrote was prophesy but not all of it was for our future. Most of it was for their future (our past).
I found it confusing at first when I started listening to Apologia in 2015 or 2016. Now it makes much more sense than futurism. The reason it's confusing is because we're used to learning about Revelation from a futurist perspective.
I used to believe apologia had a wrong view of eschatology as well until I opened my Bible and read along as they explained their view and their view makes much more sense. Very blessed to finally get the right view of the end times and the tribulation.
SOOOOOOO, if it already happened, we are in the millennium?? There is no rod of iron, this world is not like garden of Eden. I'm in Nevada,my grandchildren do NOT play with scorpions. Where is the remnant of Israel?
You need to understand hyperbole, apocalyptic language, symbolism, etc...Jeff explains these things in his sermons on Eschatology, the end times were clearly coming on them, Israel, Jesus made this clear.
@@Alec-yu3xq That's odd. Because Jesus said only the Father in heaven knows the hour and the day. Not the angels nor the Son knows. The destruction of the temple was known by Rome. They knew they were going to do it either the day before or earlier. Rome had an elite military. Their sieges were not barbaric and unorganized. Meaning, many Romans KNEW the exact day they would sack Jerusalem and destroy the temple. The whole idea that Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Revelation 1-17 has already happened just doesn't fit with scripture. Nor does it fit with Paul's teaching of an imminent catching away of believers.
It did already start, just prior to 70 A.D., but it cannot rightly be said that it has "already happened", because it is still presently ongoing and will be until just before Christ's second coming. This can be understood by an unbiased reading of Matthew 24:15-31.
Nice. “People” are funny with duration of time, aren’t they? As if 1000 years is a long time to God. I think this is where people mess up. They look at prophecy in terms of time, instead of events. The Bible gives us “event” based timing. In fact - the second coming of Jesus Christ cannot be known by duration based timing. If someone says they know the exact hour - they’re a liar.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (Matthew 5:18) It’s all been fulfilled. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. (Daniel 7:27, KJV)
My Brothers and Sisters. Even if Christians disagree on such topics, remember, you only have TODAY. On a TODAY you may die, and there you will care less if the tribulation happened or will happen in the future. We have to be ready every day. At the End the Lord will show us, and we will know for sure. Do not let Satan slip in and create division. Even if some may present it as facts, like the christians in Berea, we have to study it ourselves on our own, and od not to fight over who is right, or wrong, but rater serve one another in love. Do not forget that knoweledge puffs up, but our goal is to represent Christ in how we love one another, not how we argue with one another. May God help us and keep us humble and loving ❤
Matthew 24:29-31 KJV Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: [30] And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. [31] And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Given this scripture in Mathew 24 if you say that it already happened you would have to say that Jesus came back already and sent his angels to harvest which I believe is the rapture and resurrection so you would be denying what Jesus said about what he said is happening immediately after the tribulation
Jesus says He would appear. That is different than coming. He also told Caiphas he would see Christ in the clouds during His interrogation. Lo and behold Caiphas is stoned during the siege if Jerusalem shortly after many witnesses see heavenly armies in the sky- per Josephus and Tacitus. I tell you most people like yourself are so illiterate about the 1st century and then go around cutting and pasting scripture to find any way you can to support the apostate state of Israel. It’s nuts. Stop being nuts and start reading.
This is the challenge I have with the post- and a-mill positions, where apparently clear chronologies are dismissed as being outside "the hermeneutic" (which is still man-made) or deflected to another part of Scripture. In candid moments, my brothers in these camps have also admitted that Rom 9-11 is a puzzle to be worked out (Voddie Baucham is fair enough to admit that Israel, the people ,must be saved). If anyone on here disagrees with a premil view(which Spurgeon held to in its historic flavor), we would love to resolve this issue but you'll need to work through the apparent contradictions we see in your view if you want to convert us.
Isaiah 19:1 “Behold, the LORD is riding on a swift cloud and comes to Egypt.” It’s dramatic hyperbole. The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars are Israel (as pictured in Joseph’s dream). Isaiah 13:10 (judgement concerning Babylon) “For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising and the moon will not shed its light.” It’s amazing how Jesus uses the same language to speak of both Babylon and Egypt. He literally judged Egypt and He literally judged Babylon. On top of that, He literally judged Israel within that generation, as it says in Matthew 24. The angels gathering His elect can be that, during this millennium reign, Christ is sending out His messengers (angels-same word) to gather his sheep. Things have gotten better. Their are millions of Christians throughout the world. His kingdom is being built. The kingdom of God is upon us. Exactly as Jesus said. ALL authority has been given to Him at his resurrection (end of Matthew and Daniel 7. The kingdom is like a seed, it grows slowly, but will end quite large. It’s not currently like Eden, but “He will not grow faint or be discouraged till he has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands wait for his law.” Isaiah 42:4 Section to think on, if you’re truly interested to learn our side of things: “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet...” 1 Corinthians 15:22-27
While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. - 1 Thessalonians 5:3 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. - 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 Such Hope is in Jesus ❤
It already happened in 70AD. These words were written to the Thessalonians, not to you and me now. 4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: 5 [Which is] a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 6 Seeing [it is] a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power: 12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:4, KJV)
@@dietrickfriesen4521 I think it was all fulfilled. Israel only knew there was an age (the Old Covenant) and an age to come (New Covenant). When we read the Bible, we are basically reading the “mail” and the history of Israel. If you read the major and minor prophets, you will see Israel failed to represent Yahweh to the nations. He always told them if you don’t follow me, I will be finished with you. He even said I will go to a people who want me. God’s relationship was contractual, and they broke it, murdered the prophets, and murdered the son of God who came down from heaven - the final nail in the coffin. He ended that contract and opened up a covenant with believing Jews and the gentiles nations. Anyone can come. But, the finality of that covenant came as predicted - with the judgement of the holy people from Daniel 12:7, the destruction of the temple, and the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman armies. Jesus always said, his kingdom was not of this world and it will come without observation. Since we were taught so much sensationalism, I know it’s hard to undo the teachings. The language of the prophecies was very poetic, dramatic, exaggerated… Just go back to the Garden of Eden. What was broken there has been restored. Man can be in God’s presence again and have His spirit. We will not face eternal death. We are New Jerusalem and the temple of the living God. Outside of the gates of Jerusalem (each believer) - Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. (Revelation 22:14, ESV) I don’t see a third return/day of the Lord/coming on the clouds (all judgment language for national judgment by God - Is. 13 and 19) We are also failing to see the New Testament saints were waiting for a resurrection from Sheol and a coming judgment. That had to have happened in AD 70 or we would not be in the New Covenant now. Zach Davis has some good videos on thinking these things over. I hope this helps somewhat. His kingdom is eternal. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. (Daniel 7:14, ESV) 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this. (Isaiah 9:6, ESV)
I encourage people listening to this to do a word study on 'the day of the Lord'.....I have no clue how we can be reading the same bible, it's like you've been blinded.
Different people see different things when they read the same words. I personally don't see any prediction of the day of the Lord that goes beyond the times of old covenant Israel. The day of Christ may be an eternal 7th day that begins at the same time as the new covenant.
Concerning the judgement of Babylon: “Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; as destruction from the Almighty it will come!” Isaiah 13:6 And… “Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the land a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it.” Isaiah 13:9 The day of the Lord concerning the judgement of Egypt: “That day is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, to avenge himself on his foes. The sword shall devour and be sated and drink its fill of their blood. For the Lord GOD of hosts holds a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.” Jeremiah 46:10 And… “For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near; it will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.” Ezekiel 30:3 The day of the Lord concerning judgement on the false prophets of Israel: “You have not gone up into the breaches, or built up a wall for the house of Israel, that it might stand in battle in the day of the LORD.” Ezekiel 13:5 Peter says this day of the Lord, Joel’s day of the Lord, will happen in conjunction with “everyone who calls upon the name of the LORD shall be saved”: “the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. “And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’” Acts 2:20-21 Peter states that concerning exactly what was happening to them at that time. So, we have apostolic interpretation.
This eschatology is proof people can be talked into anything. Christ called us sheep, easily led. In this insane world, we're supposed to believe the Kingdom of God is reigning? Read the scriptures for yourself, people. You can do better.
It would be nice if you guys included “Part-#” in the titles so those of us who missed the earlier parts could find them. Edit: or link them in the description.
I do not understand why Jeff and his crew believe so much in postmil. I do not see evidence of world getting better and better. Is Jeff and his crew turning blind eye of world event in 2024? Jeff have so much knowledge of the Bible but I don't know why he believes in world getting better and better in 2024. I'm a pre trib believer. I agree on Jeff's beliefs in all other areas except when it comes to eschatology. No matter how sugar coated Jeff wording is when he explained his postmil beliefs I just don't see it in the Bible, no evidence of world getting better and better as we watch world event in 2024. I pray that God remove the veil in Jeff eyes, he simply cannot see it. It's dangerous because he believes in postmil so much that he go far length to explain it, sad part is, Jeff has thousands of followers now believing in world getting better and better in 2024. God Bless Brother Jeff...I agree with you in all other areas of Christian doctrine, except eschatology.
The simple fact is, these guys believe and reach all this unbiblical nonsense because they are NOT Christians. They sell a 100% different christianity to the Christianity of the Bible. They are exactly the same as the mormons.
In the 2000 years since Christ, look at was has been accomplished. The gospel has gone throughout the world and there are more Christians today than ever before. Nothing goes up in a straight line though, and there will always be setbacks.
@@Alec-yu3xq ,...Wow! Are you ever completely deceived. The gospel had already gone into all the world in the time of the apostles. Since that time only the 100% apostate churches false gospel has gone into the world. The false gospel and antichrist christianity that you are 100% snared into. The fact is, there are almost no Christians in the world. There are no Christians in anything known as the church, absolutely not! Every person in every church is a fake christian as you are a perfect example of. You could not be more deceived. Repent!

Understanding Post Mill changed my life, it is the only optimistic old Biblical view of end times interpretation. If Christians would consider it, they would act differently to change the culture and government!
@@beebarfthebard That is exactly why we are in this position as Christians because most Christians have a pessimistic view on the end times so they don't fight anymore. The rapture interpretation and Zionism is what made the Church weak. I grew up in that indoctrination and I am very happy God woke me up!
@@Imperialbbuilding WHERE in my statement, did I give OR IMPLY, a date for Christ return?? You may remember those ppl from your childhood, but I and they are NOT THE SAME!
@Imperialbbuilding THAT generation saw the fulfilment saw the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. They did not see the second coming of Jesus nor did they see ANYTHING else in Revelation.
What happens during the Great Tribulation per Revelation (understood to be written around 96AD)? Did those things happen in 70AD? I'm not aware of the amount of death described in Revelation, nor the antichrist and false prophet cast into the lake of fire after the great battle described in Rev 19. I'm confused.
Don't worry, there will always be different opinions in the body of Christ. Just look that you are ready every day, and if the Lord comes, or you die beforehand, you will have nothing you lost because you did not understood the passages talked about, rather enjoy Gods eternal presence. There will be the place all debates end, and all understanding will be equal 😊❤️
this idea is pretty new to me... it was always explained to me that Jesus prophesied the destruction of the temple (that's clear) and goes on to elaborate on the times we see coming forward. This makes alot of sense how you all put it and I appreciate the exposition on the topic. We have to be ready and willing to learn, and to stand in difficult times. I'm not sure yet of my belief on the matter (I'll need half a lifetime more of study I think), but I just want to be found working as He warns in the same passage. my specific point of question is in Matthew 24:27-31. He begins here with "after the tribulation of those days" and also says immediately, which seems to mean pretty immediately... in referring to the powers of Heaven shaken, then that His sign of appearing would be seen by all before the elect are gathered... is this done? or does it imply that we are now (but not immediately) waiting on a rapture, that we are still in a time of tribulation?
I have learned so much from Jeff Durbin. He has so many videos out and podcasts. You can learn a lot as I did.🙏🏼 I now have a better understanding and I’m so grateful
The difference I see is Coaches and fans. I see “Coaches” who are knowledgeable with wisdom in the video and actually play the game… then I see a bunch of fans that sit in the stands who are pointing at the coaches to run the ball instead of passing, because they know more than the coaches… 💀
Does Jeff Durban believe Noah’s flood was global or local? I ask because local flood supporters use some of the same arguments Jeff is using - the known world argument. Also, is Jeff saying Jesus did not know of other people in other areas? He said when Jesus said the whole world, he was talking about the known world.
Matthew 24:14 - "And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." The Greek word for "world" here is oikouménē, which often referred to the inhabited world, or the Roman Empire, during the time of Christ. This suggests that Jesus was speaking about the spread of the gospel within the known world of the time, rather than a global, modern-day interpretation. the word oikouménē (meaning "inhabited world" or "known world") is not used in the original Hebrew text of the Noah story, nor is it typically found in the Greek Septuagint translation of the flood narrative. Instead, the language used in the story of Noah, particularly in Genesis 6-9, describes the destruction of "the earth" (hā’āreṣ in Hebrew), which implies a more universal destruction of all living creatures and land. when Jesus refers to the flood in the context of future judgment in Matthew 24:37-39, He does not use oikouménē. The word "earth" (gē in Greek) is used instead to describe the floodwaters covering the whole world: "For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man." (Matthew 24:37-39, ESV)
Thank you to all of you for putting together this series. It has been eye opening, and so helpful. I grew up pre-mill, pre-trib, rapture, read all the left behind books and saw the movies🙄 and it’s all I’ve ever known specifically revelation to be talking about…😔 the church will be raptured out of here so don’t worry about it you will be fine. It was actually harder living that way because you’re always looking for the rapture or the “signs” of it’s coming or even worried about the great tribulation as you think of those you love who could be left behind. you have helped me see the OT with fresh eyes as it beautifully ties into the NT and I understand now with clarity what the Olivet discourse was about, so helpful! Thank you, God is using this series !
I've watched their discussions many times over the years, but not real consistently...did something happen recently to dude's hand or has he always been that way? Was just wondering if he had a recent accident or something? I've never noticed before.
I love you brothers. Jeff, I think it was when I started listening to your sermons in 2020 that I came accross postmillennialism for the first time. And Scripture just starting making sense when letting it interpret itself. Thank you and God bless.
@@2ndPeterCh.2-qt5dw If Premillennialism is true, then Christ is a false Prophet, because in Matthew 24:34 He says to those standing in front of Him “Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.”. Moreover, Premillennialism calls for Jesus to disobey the Father. How so? Well, the Bible tells us that the Father tells the Son to sit at His right hand until He makes all His enemies a footstool for His feet. And so Premillennialism calls for Jesus to return prior to that being accomplished, therefore, Premillennialism calls for Jesus to be disobedient to the Father, which means Premillennialism is an unbiblical teaching. Can we agree that any doctrine that calls for the Son to disobey the Father would be a doctrine worth throwing into Gehenna? Yes. Ought we vehemently rebuke those who would call for the Son to disobey the Father just as Jesus rebuked Peter for getting in between Jesus and the cross (getting in the way of God the Son obeying what God the Father commanded)? Yes. (Philippians 2:5-8; Matthew 16:21-23; Mark 8:31-33). Does the Son obey all that the Father commands? Yes. (Matthew 26:39; Mark 14:36; Luke 22:42; John 5:19; John 6:38; John 8:27-29; Hebrews 5:8-9; (John 8:44-47; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 7:26-28; Hebrews 9:11-14; Hebrews 10:1-18; 1 Peter 2:21-24); John 12:49-50; John 14:31; John 15:10; Philippians 2:5-8). Did the Father tell the Son to sit at His right hand until all His enemies are defeated, with the last enemy being death? Yes. (Psalm 68:17-24, 29-35; Psalm 80:17-19; Psalm 110:1-7; Matthew 22:41-46; Matthew 26:63-64; Mark 12:35-37; Mark 14:61-62; Luke 20:41-44; Luke 22:66-70; Acts 3:17-26; 1 Corinthians 15:20-27; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Ephesians 1:15-23; Hebrews 1:1-14; Hebrews 2:5-18; Hebrews 10:10-18; 1 Peter 3:21-22; Revelation 3:21; Revelation 20:1-15; Acts 1:11). Is the Son in resurrected bodily form (two natures one person, fully God and fully man) sitting at the right hand of the Father? Yes. (Mark 16:19; Luke 24:36-43; John 20:24-29; Acts 2:29-36; Acts 7:55-60; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:20-27; Ephesians 1:15-23; Colossians 3:1; Hebrews 8:1-2; Hebrews 12:1-2; Hebrews 10:10-18; 1 Peter 3:21-22; Revelation 3:21). Do Premillennialists and Amillennialists call for the Son to bodily arise from being seated at right hand of the Father in heaven in order to bodily return to earth prior to all His enemies being defeated? Yes. This means the doctrine of Premillennialism and Amillennialism calls for the Son to disobey the Fathers command of sitting at His right hand until all His enemies are defeated. Moreover, if the Son returns before Father makes all of the Sons enemies His footstool, then, that would make the Father a liar, because, the Father said He would make all of the Sons enemies His footstool before the Son returns. Any doctrine that calls for the Son to disobey the Father, and that would call the Father a liar, ought to be tossed in Gehenna where it belongs. Therefore, those who hold to Premillennialism and Amillennialism must be vehemently rebuked just as Jesus rebuked Peter (Philippians 2:5-8; Matthew 16:21-23; Mark 8:31-33). Therefore, be diligent to rightly divide the word of truth, and shun profane babblings of false eschatologies that will proceed to further ungodliness, which spreads like gangrene and overthrows the faith of some, and publicly name such men who teach false eschatologies (2 Timothy 2:14-19). The last three enemies to be defeated and made a footstool for Christ during His millennial reign while being seated at the right hand of the Father. In (Psalm 110:1-7; Matthew 22:41-46; Mark 12:35-37; Luke 20:41-44; Acts 2:29-36; Ephesians 1:15-23; Hebrews 1:1-14; Hebrews 10:10-13) we see that the expectation is that while the Son is sitting at the right hand of the Father His enemies will be made a footstool for His feet. In 1 Corinthians 15:24-28, 54-57 we get the first additional detail about the ordering in which the enemies are defeated. The detail is limited in that we only know that the last enemy to be defeated is death. And we are given no detail about the order in which all the other enemies are defeated prior to the last enemy death being defeated. But in Revelation 20:1-9 we get the second additional detail about the 3rd and 2nd last enemies to be defeated prior to the last enemy death being defeated. It’s in this passage that we find Satan being bound during the millennial reign of Christ. This binding is a great chain and pit that doesn’t defeat Satan at this point in time but it restricts him, it suppresses him. What about Satan is being restricted and suppressed? (1) DECEPTION which leads to (2) REBELLION. Notice how in Genesis before death enters in as the great enemy of man that we see two other enemies come in before death. Those two other enemies are Deception and Rebellion. Eve was DECEIVED by Satan, and Adam REBELLED against God, and then DEATH entered into all creation. What we find at the beginning at the fall of man (the first Adam) is an ordering of the enemies; 1st Deception, 2nd Rebellion, 3rd Death. But at the end of the millennial reign of the Son of God (the last Adam) is that the ordering of the enemies being defeated is opposite as found in Geneses during the fall; 3rd last Deception, 2nd last Rebellion, and Death takes 1st place of being the last enemy to be defeated. At the very end when Satan is released he will DECEIVE the nations into one last REBELLION against the people of God His Saints. And what we find in this passage is that in a space of 2 verses there is the last DECEIVING and REBELLION, and no mention of death by sword, famine, pestilence, natural calamity, etc, but the only ones receiving death are those who are DECEIVED and in REBELLION, and this happens by fire coming down from heaven. This means that as soon as the fire from heaven destroys the 3rd and 2nd last enemies, it then immediately follows that there is no more death after those two enemies are destroyed, for death itself is now defeated for there is no more purpose for the first death, and that history now enters into the judgement of the great white throne where books are opened and all men are judged. Moreover, the reason why there is no mention of weapons of warfare in the final revolt is due to what we read in Isaiah 2:1-4 and Micah 4:1-13 we read that the nations forget how to conduct warfare because they there is so much peace that they had no more use for weapons of warfare, so they turned their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. What must precede the final revolt, and therefore precede Christ’s return? Isaiah 65:15 God’s people were called Jews, but now His people have been given a new name-Christian. See, the true Jews are those who follow Christ, and they went from being called Jews to being called by a new name-Christian-Acts 11:26. Isaiah 65:17-23 This is talking about the new heavens and a new earth, and it describes this new heaven and new earth as still having; Death of young and old men - Isaiah 65:20 Birth of babies - Isaiah 65:20 & Isaiah 65:23 In Romans 8:18-23 we read that the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God. That means that once all the sons of God are revealed that there is no more to be revealed, that is, there can be no more births that can add to this number once it has been revealed in the eternal state. Unbelievers and believers still living together on the same earth - Isaiah 65:20 People need to think BIBLICALLY about the words God uses and how He uses them. We are now in the new heaven and new earth. Jesus is reigning as King of kings and Lord of lords, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him. He is destroying all His enemies throughout Temporal Human History with the last enemy being death. Death needs to be in such a retreat that when a man dies at 100 years old he is considered as being a young man with his whole life still ahead of him. That is to say that old men die at the age of being hundreds of years old.
@@Mattchew2232 If Premillennialism is true, then Christ is a false Prophet, because in Matthew 24:34 He says to those standing in front of Him “Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.”. Yes. That’s not the only thing that already happened. Christ returned, on the clouds of heaven just as he promised, in 70AD, at the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem.
I don't think a lot of "Christ Followers", read their Bible for themselves. They don't test the word of their pastors either. They just swallow, Hook, Line and sinker. and believe everything their "pastor" says, and his interpretation of scripture as absolute truth.
@@Brenda-qo4ko No. I’ve actually studied the Bible for myself. I’ve listened to many others interpretation of it as well. Have you ever heard of R.C. Sprol, Greg Bahnsen, Douglas Wilson? Just like the scripture, and Paul the apostle says to do.
@@martinbuck4129 I've listened to those theologians/apologists. I also listen to John MacArthur and Tony Costa (a reformed theologian/apologist who is a professor at Toronto Baptist Seminary) who hold to other eschatologies.
When His light comes, ( future tense here ) it will outshine all other lights in the firmament! They will appear darkened for his light! Think a darkened room with candlelight when bright lights are turned on the dim candle will be of no effect, although it shine brightly in contrast to the darkness..... So will his light be. It's so simple even a child can understand Behold the things that were and the things that are and the things that shall come and I say unto all of you watch
Absolutely mind blowing…. I was always taught a pre-trib rapture understanding of revelation but I have to say…. This seems so much more clear… Where can I find a complete teaching of yours on all of revelation??
Matthew 24:29 ESV [29] “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. There is more than one tribulation in this world and the great tribulation has not happened but we have hope in Jesus! It's all for His glory!
The lion (babylon) is living with the lamb (church). In Isaiah 11:9, a mountain to the Jews was a capital city of an empire. The holy mountain is mount Zion, heavenly Jerusalem the Church. Our enemies can destroy our bodys, but they can't destroy our souls.
I completely disagree with you guys and feel like there is so much evidence in the pretrib rapture, but bc I have listened to Jeff for so long and respect his teachings, I’m going to dive into this and really research it.
I was like you except that it didn’t make sense to me. I prayed about it, and God showed me. Either believe doesn’t take away our salvation, but it feels so good to be on the right track and know the real meaning
Expedition Bible has a great video on this. He’s a Christian archeologist and has been digging all over the Middle East at biblical sites and puts them together in a timeline according to the Bible.
@@whaguitars I want to say he touches on it in the Jericho unearthed video, but I don’t remember exactly tbh. The video is maybe 1 to 1.5 years ago, he brings in an atheist and Jewish archeologist though if I remember right so if you come across it and see either of those two characters it should be the right video.
Would you guys touch on-not only Great Tribulation has happened but also Millenium and we are now in Satans Little Season? How about that? This means history books are no source anymore, time stamps are manipulated but luckily old structures can talk etc.(Tartaria).Very interesting and fruit for thought here!Thank you for your video,I really liked it.
Why dont yall ever address Isa 25, Daniel 12, Hosea 13 that address the judgement upon Israel in 70AD? Is it because those text involve the resurrection?
Then what about Revelation, cuz yes I agree that in Matthew it's referring to 70 AD, but what do you call the events in Revelation? I and many people call that the Great Tribulation. I believe that Matthew and Mark refer to a different event than in Luke and Revelation.
The pretribulation rapture is what the early church believed because it's what John and Paul both taught. The catholic church is the #1 reason why this is the mainstream idea because Johm Darby 100% didn't come up with it and never met Margret McDonald. Darby claims to have come to this conclusion because the replacement theology of the day used the church in place of Israel in all of the end times prophecy......because Israel hasn't existed in 1800 years, Darby believed this wouldn't always be the case and Revelation chapters 1-3 are directly written to the church, then poof, the church isn't mentioned again but Israel, specifically Jerusalem, becomes the focus of 100% of God's attention. Daniel calls this "the times of Jacob's trouble" aka Israel. The idea that the rapture is anything BUT before the wrath of God is poured out means of 2 things. Also Ephraim the Asyrian taught this very openly and matter of fact in the 4th century so there is 100% slam dunk proof anyone saying it wasnt a thing before John Darby is just ignorant on church history but if you agree with the catholic church by all means.......deny reality. 1) you don't believe what the Bible says about Jesus coming as a thief in the night, I'm looking for Christ to return for His bride at any time (because the word says He is) so He won't as a thief to me, I'm a sheep waiting on my Shepards voice. Which also means you think Christ is going to allow His bride, who He died for (which make up all the world's believers) to be destroyed by the Beast which is sad because you don't believe the word which says in Revelation 3:10-11 "Because thou (the church in Philadelphia or the last church before the false church of Laodicea) hast kept the word of My patience, I will also keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon ALL the world to try them that dwell upon the Earth. Behold, I come quickly, hold fast which thou hast, that no man take they crown (the Greek word stephanous or a crown like which is given to the winners of the ancient Greco Roman games which symbolizes victory) Or 2) maybe you are deceived by false doctrine because the Bible from Matthew to Revelation tells us to warn, Comfort others and trust in the fact that Jesus is coming to do 2 things, save the lost during the age of the church and then come to Israel's rescue and to destroy Beast system and defeat the antichrist in the last days bringing in an age of peace before the end of time. There is so much proof that everything people use to try and say the early church didn't believe in a pretribulation rescue of the church but just reading 1 and then 2nd Thessalonians will discredit that and..... Titus 2:13-14 "Looking for that BLESSED HOPE and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto Himself a peculiar people zealous of good works" And most important of all the reason we that speak English say "rapture" and you better believe what the word says or your in a world of trouble to begin with because this is where the rapture comes from the words "caught up" or harpazo in the Greek and Rapturo in Latin 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 "For this we say unto you by the word of The Lord, that we we are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend with a shout with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with The Lord. WHEREFORE COMFORT ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS" Paul didn't end his letters with maranatha for no reason he ended it with that because he knew that one day in the twinkling of an eye we shall all CAUGHT UP together with Jesus Christ and it CAN happen at any time and you better be ready. False doctrine....you know who doesn't believe or teach that Jesus is coming for His bride?? The false religion of Catholicism.......the one with the leader who calls himself "the Holy father" and just told everyone in the world that every religion leads to God.......yeah you can line up with that unbiblical nonsense if you want be as for me and my house, we will serve The Lord!
we will be raptured before the tribulation. that's right. we wont be here for the tribulation or the great tribulation. we will return with the Lord and witness the destruction of the army of the antichrist
Eschatology is NOT a salvation issue. There’s no need to be angry over this. Just listen and if you disagree, it doesn’t matter. I lean amillennial, but I don’t care about anyone’s eschatology. We’re all brothers and sisters in Christ.
AMEN! I cant believe how far away from the truth some of these "churches" are... Really sad and frustrating to see "pastors" teaching there is no rapture and the great tribulation already happened... No one can take away my Blessed Hope! Jesus has showed me the rapture multiple times... it is coming... and we are to be watching!
Yall believe this if you want to, just know the actual age we are living in now does not align with anything these guys say about eschatology. It sounds good though, great for folks with itching ears.
You are 100% correct. They are doing nothing other than parroting reformed theologians from 100's of years ago. They don't have the intellectual capacity to discern the meaning behind the phrase of "this generation." They're trying to generate clicks, views, money. It's tragic.
70ad was the judgment of the harlot of Babylon and in 536 ad the Roman Empire fell part due to 18 months of darkness some islands splitting and a third of all life dying.. then there is 1000 years of little to no history but we know it was Christian world.. then the enlightenment period where man moved from God
Why are you denying or not mentioning revelation 6 says the stars fall and cosmic disturbances as Mathew 24 can you explain this ? It clearly says this will happen at the wrath of the Lamb 6seal
@@SonofGodNOW ok that would be true if it wouldn’t literally say anything about moon and the sun So this isIs literally speaking of what will happen during the time as the wrath of the lamb is upon us the lamb is Jesus which Jesus clearly said it’ll happen immediately after the tribulation of those days which could be future because Jesus says that as this is happening well see him in the clouds and he’ll send his angels to harvest the four corners of the earth also the 6th seal happens after the 5th seal which to me is the time of the mark of the beast where you’ll be martyrs for faith in Jesus it says there will be a number of brethren that have to die before the wrath will be unleashed which lines up with what Jesus spoke of and all the other prophets
@@SonofGodNOW Daniel 7:23 KJV Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. Has this fourth kingdom happened already devoured the whole earth ?

The way Jesus describes Revelations is that it is cyclical and has happened multiple times already. We're called on to bring either heaven or heck here onto earth. We must let go of how we see ourselves and let Jesus' blood make us anew. We have to let go of all of our earthly demands and be grateful we get to discuss the purified concept of christ and our lord God.
I’ve heard Gary say that you (Jeff) have called him in the past for advice on Matt 24. Creeds and Confessions aside, I think it would be a great show to invite Gary on see exactly where in the Olivet Discourse you guys part ways. Amongst partial preterists, there are differences amongst yourself, Gentry, Mathison, Wilson, Jordan etc. Is it possible that Gary’s position can be supported by Scripture and perhaps you have not at least considered the veracity of his position? Having said, I enjoyed the show and agree with a lot of what you have to say. I appreciate your ministry.
But we wernt around back then... Josephus tells about a Sword shaped Star that remained for an entire Year and also about chariots and soldiers in the skies in 70 ad Im 100 percent positive that not every earth quake and phenomenon was written down
The great ginger uprising starts here 👊🏻 lol jk we have thick skin…. Because it usually has some kind of a rash. Also do you know how gingers get high fives? They clap. If you can’t laugh at yourself someone else will. Thanks for the clear teaching pastor Jeff and fam.
Great video guys. Man! When Luke would chime in, he was three times as loud as Jeff. I would have to turn my TV down so as not to wake up my upstairs neighbor. Thanks, though. Going to share this with a few friends.
I think Jeff needs to look at the Greek for generation is genea which, as with many words in Greek, have multiple meanings so you need to look at it in it's proper context. It can mean race, stock or family among other things. It seems that race would be the most appropriate given the fact that He, Jesus, was speaking to the Jews. Also, given the fact that the promises that were given to the Jewish people are irrevocable and eternal. Doesn't it make more sense then that Jesus was saying that the Jewish people would not pass away? If the tribulation had already happened, wouldn't be expect the world to be getting better and better? How is that going? The Jewish people were offered the kingdom but they rejected and crucified Jesus. God's kingdom will not appear until the return of Jesus when he descends on the mount of Olives. It takes a lot of theological and eschatological gymnastics to come up with what Jeff Durbin is trying to teach.
Right on the money! The term genea that is referred elsewhere in Matthew is referring to the evil generation of people, specifically the Jews. THIS GENERATION thus refers, in context of allowing scripture interpret scripture, is referring to the evil generation of Jews in the Great Tribulation who still reject the Gospel and Christ.
"Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather." It just occurred to me that that Jesus likened the Pharisees and their religion to whitewashed tombs. I think it is saying that the corpse is Jerusalem and it's 'dead' religion.
I have been researching this topic and it's pretty exciting Either way.. Either way Hes coming back a 3rd Time and if that time is now for the Gog and Magog war then so Be it.. it doesnt change who Jesus is and What He Has Already Done.
Nonsense. Is satan not deceiving the nations? He was supposed to be put in a pit and never allowed to deceice us for 1000 years. Islam arised 600ad. Anything against the Gospel is of satan. L take.
Revelation describes a temple built that does NOT have a court. Just happens to be that if Israel can build a temple there is not enough room for a court as Dome of Rock (gentiles) own space on Temple Mount. When Jesus was alive he walked on the court but revelation says the court has been given to the gentiles.
People hold to premill like a second religion. There were trannies and mass sexual immorality, violence, degradation in the 700s and you can see writings of the monks lamenting that Muslim hordes sweeping over Africa and the Middle East must be the end, same with the black plague. There have been far worse times in history. Between these guys and all the other reformed brothers I’ve been utterly convinced of the postmillennialism. Ask yourself if you’re just recoiling because you don’t like your presuppositions challenged? Postmill is thouroughly scriptural. It opened the Bible even more for me.
He does an excellent job with the doctrines of Grace But he is horrible with eschatology absolutely abysmal and cannot exegete his way out of a paper bag with the prophetic scriptures He pretends things stated clearly in the Bible have already happened and tries to dismiss things as merely metaphor picture He takes sprouls speculations and then says “hold my beer”
Well, we all missed it. Shoot. Wedding feast, everything. I just don't see really old people running around,so we missed the millennium also.Wow. I guess we just are waiting for the great white throne of judgement. I'm excited.
🤔 BUT.... Isn't it possible when Christ says "this generation" He's referring to the FUTURE generation He's prophesying ABOUT, which will be in the tribulation ? (Vs the generation He's asking to document the prophecy)
It can’t be, because Jesus is referring to the temple that Christ’s disciples were able to see before them. Notice how he refers to “you” over and over again in Matthew 24. He is referring to those right in front of him.
If you were a first century Jew, to whom the word "generation" meant a period of 40 years, standing there listing to Jesus give a prophecy TO YOU, and he said, "All these things will come to pass before THIS generation passes away." who would you think he was talking to and about? Matthew 21-25 is one long sequence of events. When Jesus begins speaking in Ch. 24, he's answering a question the disciples asked him directly connected to what just happened in Ch. 23. Which is that he was in the temple giving the 7 woes to the Scribes and Pharisees which culminates in him telling the scribes and Pharisees, "34) Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town, 35) so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. 36) Truly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation." Followed in the next paragraph by, "Behold your house is left to you desolate". The disciples were in the temple with him watching all that go down. So when they leave, they ask him, "When will these things be and what will be sign of your coming?" Jesus then proceeds to answer the question. He gives them the signs and tells them it will happen in their generation. And just as Jesus promised, he sent prophets and wise men and scribes (the Apostles) to the temple priesthood and Pharisees, and they were crucified, flogged, and persecuted by the priesthood. And then, their house (the Temple) was left to them desolate in 70 A.D. when it was destroyed by Rome and literally carried off the temple mount (not one stone left upon another), just as Jesus also prophesied. People have made such a mess of these prophecies, but when you read the gospels the way they're written, which is a record of historical events lived by real people. To wit, the gospels are a record of things Jesus said and did. Well, when he said things, who was he talking to when he said it? Combine that with the record of history, and it's really not that complicated. There are two major factors in the futurist view of Matthew 24. #1 is ignorance of history. #2 is the mistranslation of the greek word "aionos" (from which we get the word aeon) in Matthew 24:3. The King James renders the word aionos as "world". This is not entirely wrong, just inaccurate for modern english; because the word aionos refers to a period of time, oor an age, not the physical universe. The greek for physical universe is "cosmos". If you wanted to use the word "world" in the translation of verse 3 and be accurate, you'd have to use the expression, "the world as we know it". What the disciples are asking is about the end of the age, not the physical world. This mistranslation is one of the single biggest factors for people thinking it hasn't happened yet.
@@TrentonMabry1 in Matthew 24:30 Christ specifically says "and then ALL THE TRIBES of the earth will mourn, and THEY WILL SEE the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. " If All of the Earth saw Christ return, along with his power and great glory, don't you think all of the earth would have wrote about that? Or at least the Christians would have written about it? I think it's fair to say that Matthew 24, like many prophetic end times prophecies, have a SHORT-TERM and a LONG-TERM fulfillment. Some of these things were all filled in the short-term in the temple fell. And I think duplicately those same things and all of the things, apply to the end times. But it doesn't make sense to claim that the 7 years of tribulation, and ALL the events surrounding the Antichrist and other aspects that the end times prophesize have occurred. Including the second coming of Christ. It's pretty clear that those things have not all happened yet. And I think this is what makes it more reasonable to suspect that when Christ says "this generation" He is speaking of the generation during the tribulation time, not the ones documenting the prophecy about the tribulation time.
@@TrentonMabry1 & @jgons wrote a biblical reply, but It looks like it was censored. In a nutshell, if you look at you versus earlier then the one in question, you will see he mentions specific things that clearly not happening. So it stands to reason that when he says "this generation" He speaking of the generation He is prophesying ABOUT, who will be alive at the time in which that big and obvious worldwide events of power and glory occurs in front of. (Not the generation that he IS PROPHESIED TO
When you interpret scriptures allegorically, you end up with doctrines like this. As Christians, we should always attempt to read and interpret scripture literally unless the context supports a figurative implication. Daniel’s 70th week hasn’t happened. The day of the Lord hasn’t happened. The promises to Israel and the prophecies about Israel will and are to take place.
I guess Jesus must’ve forgotten this part and the Apostles, nor their generation, lived to see it…”But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 “And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31 “And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.”

Because hes actually deceived and has compromised the truth teaching false doctrine...
Thank you for ALL the ministry apalogia does!
I would love to see these guys have a peaceful debate with John MacArthur or Jack Hibbs. If they already have I would love to know where to find it.
I wish he would debate Sam Shamoun on Calvinism.
@@jelly7310 Or Lloyd de Jongh.
Those men are both controllers to keep you from knowing the truth. That is how this world works. They will never admit to it.
A lot of Christians have to admit that they got much of their “end times” theology from the Left Behind books and not the Bible.
Be warned that even if not a "salvation issue" deception is a slippery slope.
Where in Zechariah 14 then is the planet destroyed and renewed?
This is so helpful! Thanks guys, appreciate your honesty with the text and the historical context.
@@redeemedchannel5580 They have many times. Jeff Durbin and James White have many debates that you can look up.
That should make us all question it.
not chiasm, you’re referring to “dual fulfillment” i believe
Another point about the second coming a lot of people misinterpret is the the actual "coming" aspect. If you look at the new testament passages that quote Isaiah, most if not all of them say something to the effect of "behold, the son of man is coming on the clouds of heaven" - giving rise to our incredible rapture theologians.
What they miss though, is that in Daniel's prophecy, it specifically says the son of man is GOING up to heaven. The greek word used in the new testament can be used for both coming or going and is context dependent.
Y'all are leaving a lot out . Like one third of men wld die in a war third of animals wld die the waters would become bitter and so much more
Indeed, he has to make ALL of this metaphorical to justify his eschatology.
Yep 💯
I hate to say this but Jeff twists
God's word just like the Devil when he teaches his unbiblical eschatology. Stay away from him he is leading many astray with his false eschatology teachings
I would like to see Jeff Durbin, and Michael Brown debate on this subject. Both men are respectful, and gracious. I believe it would be a good natured and a very edify debate.
Based on the broader biblical text, it can be understood that there are multiple instances or types of tribulation described:
It spoke of future events in the near future of the immediate audience of Revelation.
How is it obvious it’s about future events
I used to believe apologia had a wrong view of eschatology as well until I opened my Bible and read along as they explained their view and their view makes much more sense. Very blessed to finally get the right view of the end times and the tribulation.
This is so good brothers. I will listen multiple times until a grasp all of it. Thank and God bless.
SOOOOOOO, if it already happened, we are in the millennium?? There is no rod of iron, this world is not like garden of Eden. I'm in Nevada,my grandchildren do NOT play with scorpions. Where is the remnant of Israel?
You gotta forgive Jeff. He's a great Pastor.... but he needs to step away from eschatology. His strengths are elsewhere.
You need to understand hyperbole, apocalyptic language, symbolism, etc...Jeff explains these things in his sermons on Eschatology, the end times were clearly coming on them, Israel, Jesus made this clear.
@@flamingswordapologetics What about the unknown day or hour? What does that pertain to?
@@Jesse-JCThe destruction of the Jerusalem and second temple. It happened in 70AD

It’s all been fulfilled.

@@JesusLuvzU2yes
Isaiah 19:1 “Behold, the LORD is riding on a swift cloud and comes to Egypt.”
It’s dramatic hyperbole. The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars are Israel (as pictured in Joseph’s dream).
Isaiah 13:10 (judgement concerning Babylon) “For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising and the moon will not shed its light.”
It’s amazing how Jesus uses the same language to speak of both Babylon and Egypt.
It’s not currently like Eden, but
“He will not grow faint or be discouraged till he has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands wait for his law.”
Isaiah 42:4
Section to think on, if you’re truly interested to learn our side of things:
“For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet...”
1 Corinthians 15:22-27
While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

@SonofGodNOW From your understanding, what prophesy is next to be fulfilled? Where are we in the book of Revelation?
(Revelation 22:14, ESV)
I don’t see a third return/day of the Lord/coming on the clouds (all judgment language for national judgment by God - Is. 13 and 19)
We are also failing to see the New Testament saints were waiting for a resurrection from Sheol and a coming judgment.
(Daniel 7:14, ESV)
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this. (Isaiah 9:6, ESV)

@SonofGodNOW so what age are we presently in, and what is the hope of your future?
I encourage people listening to this to do a word study on 'the day of the Lord'.....I have no clue how we can be reading the same bible, it's like you've been blinded.
The Day of The Lord is undoubtedly the same event the NT calls Armageddon.
Different people see different things when they read the same words. I personally don't see any prediction of the day of the Lord that goes beyond the times of old covenant Israel. The day of Christ may be an eternal 7th day that begins at the same time as the new covenant.
Concerning the judgement of Babylon:
“Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; as destruction from the Almighty it will come!”
Isaiah 13:6
And…
“Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the land a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it.”
Isaiah 13:9
The day of the Lord concerning the judgement of Egypt:
“That day is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, to avenge himself on his foes. The sword shall devour and be sated and drink its fill of their blood. For the Lord GOD of hosts holds a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.”
Jeremiah 46:10
And…
“For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near; it will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.”
Ezekiel 30:3
The day of the Lord concerning judgement on the false prophets of Israel:
“You have not gone up into the breaches, or built up a wall for the house of Israel, that it might stand in battle in the day of the LORD.”
Ezekiel 13:5
Peter says this day of the Lord, Joel’s day of the Lord, will happen in conjunction with “everyone who calls upon the name of the LORD shall be saved”:
“the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
“And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’”
Acts 2:20-21
Peter states that concerning exactly what was happening to them at that time. So, we have apostolic interpretation.
Agreed. I knew people that condoned tattoos, smoking, and drinking couldn't be on the narrow path. False teachers will be exposed in the last days.

Understanding Post Mill changed my life, it is the only optimistic old Biblical view of end times interpretation. If Christians would consider it, they would act differently to change the culture and government!
Truth isn't about what makes us optimistic and feel good. I'm very sad to hear a Christian say something like this.
@@beebarfthebard That is exactly why we are in this position as Christians because most Christians have a pessimistic view on the end times so they don't fight anymore.

Does Jeff Durban believe Noah’s flood was global or local? I ask because local flood supporters use some of the same arguments Jeff is using - the known world argument. Also, is Jeff saying Jesus did not know of other people in other areas? He said when Jesus said the whole world, he was talking about the known world.
Matthew 24:14 - "And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
The Greek word for "world" here is oikouménē, which often referred to the inhabited world, or the Roman Empire, during the time of Christ.
The word "earth" (gē in Greek) is used instead to describe the floodwaters covering the whole world:
"For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man." (Matthew 24:37-39, ESV)

If Premillennialism is true, then Christ is a false Prophet, because in Matthew 24:34 He says to those standing in front of Him “Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.”.

Birth of babies - Isaiah 65:20 & Isaiah 65:23

That means that once all the sons of God are revealed that there is no more to be revealed, that is, there can be no more births that can add to this number once it has been revealed in the eternal state.
Unbelievers and believers still living together on the same earth - Isaiah 65:20
People need to think BIBLICALLY about the words God uses and how He uses them.

So is Matthew 24:36 applying to us, because it’s after Jesus says “this generation will not pass away”.
The sound is terrible, guys…. That noise going the whole time
Expedition Bible has a great video on this.
He’s a Christian archeologist and has been digging all over the Middle East at biblical sites and puts them together in a timeline according to the Bible.
Do you know the name of the video? I'd like to check it out.

1:06:59 Ken Gentry does exactly that with Matt 16:27-28. He places v27 is our future but v28 in our past.
Amen ❤🙏👍
Then why isn't it well documented?
What about the witnesses?
One of them is Jesus , also mentioned in Daniel . The other could be a prophet or the Word of God/ Holy Spirit
Does anyone know if pastor Tom Ascol is postmil?
Why dont yall ever address Isa 25, Daniel 12, Hosea 13 that address the judgement upon Israel in 70AD? Is it because those text involve the resurrection?
Also brought in his kingdom on earth, the temple is gone ,believers become the temple.
Behold, I come quickly, hold fast which thou hast, that no man take they crown (the Greek word stephanous or a crown like which is given to the winners of the ancient Greco Roman games which symbolizes victory)
Or
2) maybe you are deceived by false doctrine because the Bible from Matthew to Revelation tells us to warn, Comfort others and trust in the fact that Jesus is coming to do 2 things, save the lost during the age of the church and then come to Israel's rescue and to destroy Beast system and defeat the antichrist in the last days bringing in an age of peace before the end of time.
Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto Himself a peculiar people zealous of good works"
And most important of all the reason we that speak English say "rapture" and you better believe what the word says or your in a world of trouble to begin with because this is where the rapture comes from the words "caught up" or harpazo in the Greek and Rapturo in Latin
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
"For this we say unto you by the word of The Lord, that we we are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend with a shout with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with The Lord. WHEREFORE COMFORT ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS"
Paul didn't end his letters with maranatha for no reason he ended it with that because he knew that one day in the twinkling of an eye we shall all CAUGHT UP together with Jesus Christ and it CAN happen at any time and you better be ready.
Lol
we will be raptured before the tribulation. that's right. we wont be here for the tribulation or the great tribulation. we will return with the Lord and witness the destruction of the army of the antichrist
😂😂😂😂
No. No. No.
We are in satans short season spoke on in revaluation 20
Jacob Prasch answers that question.
@@jj4829 There generation that sees those things happen. unfortunately not all of those things happened in 70AD.
Why are you denying or not mentioning revelation 6 says the stars fall and cosmic disturbances as Mathew 24 can you explain this ? It clearly says this will happen at the wrath of the Lamb 6seal
Stars falling always refers to those in authority falling in Hebraic, apocalyptic literature.
@@SonofGodNOW Daniel 7:23 KJV
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. Has this fourth kingdom happened already devoured the whole earth ?

For more reading on this (with LOTS of scripture references), try this old and short book (about 80 pages). George Peter Holford, The Destruction of Jerusalem: An Absolute and Irresistible Proof of the Divine Origin of Christianity
Can we agree that Jesus hasnt came the same way he left yet?.... In the clouds with the company of the angels.
I used to be dispensational who now sides with the a-millennial view. But Pastor Jeff makes a very compelling case here for post-millennialism...
But we wernt around back then... Josephus tells about a Sword shaped Star that remained for an entire Year and also about chariots and soldiers in the skies in 70 ad
Im 100 percent positive that not every earth quake and phenomenon was written down
The great ginger uprising starts here 👊🏻 lol jk we have thick skin…. Because it usually has some kind of a rash. Also do you know how gingers get high fives? They clap. If you can’t laugh at yourself someone else will. Thanks for the clear teaching pastor Jeff and fam.
You minimize the GREAT tribulation. It will be nothing you can imagine. You will be shocked if it happens in our life time.
Great video guys.
Man! When Luke would chime in, he was three times as loud as Jeff. I would have to turn my TV down so as not to wake up my upstairs neighbor.
Thanks, though. Going to share this with a few friends.
Did you guys not know that CS Lewis was a student of aleister Crowley?
Anyway you could post the scripture when it’s read. I’m sure this could be added in post edit, it would be big help. Thanks and God bless.
"Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather." It just occurred to me that that Jesus likened the Pharisees and their religion to whitewashed tombs. I think it is saying that the corpse is Jerusalem and it's 'dead' religion.
My exact thoughts.
I have been researching this topic and it's pretty exciting Either way.. Either way Hes coming back a 3rd Time and if that time is now for the Gog and Magog war then so Be it.. it doesnt change who Jesus is and What He Has Already Done.
Great exegesis. It's time to debate Mike Sullivan and Don Preston
Will never happen
LUKE! What kind of whiskey and cigar is that? looks good bro!

Amen, and thank you. I couldn’t have said it better myself.
He does an excellent job with the doctrines of Grace
But he is horrible with eschatology absolutely abysmal and cannot exegete his way out of a paper bag with the prophetic scriptures
He pretends things stated clearly in the Bible have already happened and tries to dismiss things as merely metaphor picture
He takes sprouls speculations and then says “hold my beer”
Yours, is a house of desolation! I always thought that a powerful scene from Jesus of Nazareth.
Write a book on this never heard of this before
Well, we all missed it.
That phrase is used in 18 passages in the Bible and every other time it is talking about the people of that time. Why would this be any different?
We live in Revelation 20:3-10....that is, The Little Season.
The Millennial Reign of Christ Has Already Happened.
Next up is the Gog/Magog event.
