This game has the worst kind of boost the kind that makes all the other cars go faster when you use it. Rubberbanding was introduced into arcade style racing games in early 2000s and it absolutely destroyed the genre.
For Onrush it makes sense since you don't have to finish first and you need other cars around for takedowns, boost, and Rush. But yeah, it's a problem in traditional games where you must finish first, especially in later stages or higher difficulties. If I'm not mistaken, MotorStorm had the same rubberbanding AI.
I remember playing this game when it first came out on Xbox, I was so hyped for it but instantly got turned down by the long queue times as the game didn't have that much reach. Also I had next to no idea what was happening at the time but that might have been due to my lack of playing and getting to understand the game, its very jarring when you first start even with the intro. Haven't touched the game since due to me moving to PC and forgetting about my Xbox, but while I get why it was shut down I'm sad I wont be able to give it another shot.
I didn’t know about it at the time either. I only found out about this game when I was looking into what happened to Evolution Studios after Driveclub. I guess they quickly gave up on Onrush and moved on to Dirt 5.
You're putting out cool vids man, keep it up
Thanks, appreciate it!

This seems pretty fun, shame I never heard of it while it was still online, they must have done next to no marketing
