    I have been collecting medallions on my walking stick, since I was stationed in Germany. (US Army Ret.) I still have my Volksmarch stick, that started my medallion collection. Last time I was in Whits Sands, I was stationed at Ft Bliss, in El Paso, Tx. Back then, it was an active missile range. We would get stopped while they tested ADA missiles. Great video.

    They opened up access to mil bases and fam camps over a year ago. Any vets with VA ID or ret mil ID can get in to most bases. There are a few highly secure bases that are still closed for good reason. One a bit north of Holloman I believe
    This is another good entry, especuially for south NM where camping is hard to find.

    Looks like a nice place to spend a few days. White sands is on my list. Not sure if it'll be this time. It sure helps to have power in sub zero temps. Last time I did that was in Utah about 5 degrees. Ran the batteries down usind the furnace. Started the truck to charge TC batteries and idled a couple hours with the heat on full and the passthrough open. Slept like a baby. Got the radiator finished and workss great. Got covid and flu shots. Treated myself to a eos 5d 4, sigma 150 600 sport long zoom, and a drone. More toys to make the trip more fun. Take care Mark.

    How do you stay warm when it is that cold and you have access to electricity, just curious what you use?

    • @DispersedCamperMan
      @DispersedCamperMan  3 года назад

      My truck camper is four season, I didn't have to be plugged in for the cold weather, but I prefer it. My rooftop A/C has a heat strip in it, I just use it to heat my camper when plugged in, instead of using my Wave 3 Catalytic heater on propane to keep everything from freezing. I also have the heater furnace that runs on propane when I need it.
