THESE are the RAREST Alfa Romeos in the World! $15m 33 Stradale

- The name Alfa Romeo carries huge history, incredible motorsport success and some of the most stunning cars ever made. Join me for a tour at the Museo Storico including special access to the secret storage to see cars from concepts and the rarest models made to the exceptionally valuable 33 Stradale, and even the first Formula 1 winning Alfetta.
Founded back in 1910, Alfa Romeo's history includes wins at the Targa Florio, Mille Miglia, and Formula 1 to name a few. In addition, it's also involved the creation of fabulous road cars from the old 6Cs and 8Cs, to the iconic 33 Stradale, and onwards to modern cars like the 8C Competizione and brand new GTAm.
At the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Arese, outside of Milano, Italy, we can see a selection of the cars on display across a number of areas from the Timeline, to Bellezza and Velocita. Initially we have a whistle stop tour throughout time before heading into a look at some of the unbelievable concepts from the past.
One of the highlight cars by far is the most expensive road Alfa Romeo in the world, the 33 Stradale and in this case the original Prototipo. Only 12 cars were built in total and they would be worth approximately $15m or so in the modern world, but an additional 6 chassis were also used to create a number of prototypes in partnership with the likes of Bertone, Italdesign and Pininfarina, 5 of which we can see during the visit.
The motorsport history includes the two cars that featured two motors, in one case installed side by side and the other front and back. A particularly timely highlight is the very car driven by Nino Farina to victory at Silverstone in the first Formula 1 race of the current time back in August 1950, an event that has been celebrated this very month with the 70th Anniversary race at the same circuit. Alongside it sits Fangio's car from 1951.
But then it's time to explore the storage archives, home to hundreds of vehicles from throughout the history; from Indycar and F1, to the 164 Procar that features the world's first V10 engine, capable of producing 620hp but sadly that never made it to racing with the series not taking off. It's here we can see the Diva concept which later became the Alfa Romeo 4C and plenty more concepts, production cars, projects and racecars.

Alfa Romeo have made some fantastic cars over the years, and with special access to the storage at the Museo Storico, let's check out the very finest! From Formula 1 winners, to the exceptionally valuable 33 Stradale, and right through to the brand new GTAm.
This is The best birthday gift i got today 🇩🇰
Hallo mas bro
Yep proud to be half Italian!!
Love you Tim!
Is it GTA madificato or madificata? O or A?
The Stradale is one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
in my eyes it IS the most beautiful car ever made
@@Thine_mother I'm split with the Ferrari Dino Monza :)
It's totally a waste of money buying alfa Romeo
I don't see it a money waste probably not your car or couldn't it
@@johnathanwilliams2427 you're right

Oh my god, Alfa made some utterly gorgeous cars. Like just look at those wedges. Such an underrated company for design. Both Alfa and Lancia were the iconic companies back then. What I'd do to see that glory created in modern times. There just isn't much quite like it these days.
Even the 4 door giulia looks incredible and next to a BMW, Audi or merc you wouldn't notice them 💖🚗💭
I'm weird but I actually have a thing for their 80's models. Pure boxy beauty
@PJ Almighty sadly I don’t think lambo is gonna make any smooth lined cars soon since their design language has changed to angular lined cars instead (starting from the countach)
Underrated company for design? Lol
It's the best car company in the world for design. No car reviewer ever criticises alpha for its design.
They're faults in their build up but never on design.
From alpha romeo designers you see many other cars in the world come to fruition.
I'm a simple man, I see Alfa, I press like.
Haha exactly!!!
The greatest badge in car history. It has more history of 90% other brands put together.
The three-pointed star may be even greatest, but the alpha is more beloved
.
At least five models I would own for life, especially from the fifties.
What s da Vinci in the art world, Alfa is in the automotive industry.
Wait what?Ferrari have insane history..
@@joe125ful fun fact: Ferrari born from Alfa Romeo
@@thekrieg4251 Yes but still have really great history..
I was in BMW museum in Munich and there was 1/10 of this stuff!
This is why I started selling Alfa Romeo professionally. The history of this brand is absolutely incredible.
The 8C Comp is such a beautiful piece of art
bahahahahaahaha
When i see an Alfa Romeo go by,I tip my Hat - Henry Ford! You must own Alfa Shmee 👍🏻
he must own an ugly car then
The SZ isn’t ugly at all. Love the square shape, such an icon!
Everyone says it's ugly, for me it's one of the best looking cars and also my favourite ever car
the back of them are even worse
Well..its not best looking car..
I think it’s time a classic joins the shmeemobiles
The problem is that the classic I really want, I can't afford
That would be fresh 😉

Great video about all the stylish beauty and race power Alfa Romeo created... We met you filming the magnificent 33 Stradale during our visit at the museum. My sons were very impressed seeing a RUclipsr in real life.. 👍
Alfa Romeo is so underrated. My first car was an Alfa an i loved it even if it has some quality control issues
ugly triangular grills
@@doddsalfa no, kid.
I hope Alfa's sales pick up and they don't disappear, amazing company history and got to say the latest cars are bloody marvellous.
The kidney grills on that 1930s Ferrari shield car look better than the ones on the new 4 series.
😂😂😂😂
The 4 series is a decent looking car they made things different and I like that
To be fair... so did that dog turd on the sidewalk this morning.

Thanks for this video! It was very informative and interesting. Time for an Alfa in your garage :)
Im speechless. So many works of art. I totallly love Alfa.
Unlike Shmee, I like the SZ and TZ. I also love the Bertone cars and the green Gulia at the end. Thanks.
Yes I always liked the SZ. It is really cool and while not exactly pretty, I think it's brutal lines are attractive nonetheless.

Wow! Thank you so much for visiting the museum! A friend of mine vintage raced one of the actual Trans Am winning Alfa Giulias here in the US.
Fantastic video Shmee, thank you so very much. Love Alfa. Cheers
No Shmee, You walked straight past Larini's '93 155 DTM without even a nod! But I do understand that it must has been very difficult to keep yourself composed with all the sensory overload! What an amazing place! Thank you for an excellent video!
WOW! Always great content Tim!!! ❤
This is a really lovely museum to visit. All the lovely iconic Alfas are there. An absolute MUST for Alfaholics!
Wow... thanks for the awesome video!
No one does it quite like Alfa Romeo, truly the best company in my opinion, I still wish they had put the Nuvola into production, they should use the same design and make it now
Great tour of the museum packed with lots of information, thanks Shmee.
Really fun video, thanks for the tour!
Thank you for a lovely video. I visited Museo Storico back in 2016. And now I have made a decision to go there again. Shmee, keep up your good work😊
Hi big thank you for sharing. Amazing place and fantastic motors and automobile history
Thanks for this vid. I'll be visiting the museo in a couple of weeks so it's great to get a preview! Especially to area that I may not get to with your VIP access!
Cool walk thru, thanks.

Love it 😍 thanks
Well, wow. That was not only educational but mind boggled at your history knowledge about all the cars. Very fluid and awesome to watch. Certainly opened my eyes about the history of Alfa’s.
When you sit behind the wheel of an Alfa you can feel the passion - I love mine, will never buy another brand!
This was an awesome episode !!!!!!!!!! Thank you So much for showing the Alfa Romeo Museum, Shmee !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love it when you review the old cars that looked like nothing else on the road today.

Love the Alfa Romeo History tour I'm so inspiring to see all of them it's so beautiful 💖💘
I’ve been in the Alfa museum back in the summer of 2017. As a petrol head, you really need to visit this place! 🏎👍
Great tour Shmee!
Terrific video. I love Alfa, especially the cars from the '30s, the stradale, and the Alfetta race cars. But not a single Alfetta GTV from the '70s, and you walked past a GTV6 without comment.
always enjoy your visits to car museums/collections. This is a first for me seeing you around Alfas
Glad you enjoyed
Thank you for this trip Shmee 👍
Hi Tim, realy nice video! Id love to see more alfa romeo on your channel, maybe ad one to your collection? ;D cheeers
Very happy that you visited the beautiful alfa romeo museum. Always beautiful videos

Thank you for that tour :)
I could spend hours in a place like this. What a truly stunning collection of cars. Displayed beautifully. And Montreal green would be my choice 🤤
Wonderful video. What a great history. I have always thought that Afla Romeo are the most under appreciated cars.
Awesome cars. I need to visit this museum. Great video Tim. Thank you for your work for us. Have a great day.
Amazing design and history. Great job!
Bravo Shmee, Thankyou
My favourite alfa’s are the gta, 156 and the guilietta gta. Great details with Alfa. Beautiful.
I’d love to see a tour of the lancia museum if they have one
Hi Shmee, I love your collection and museum visits :D
Thank you Shmee for wonderful knowledge and in-depth on Alfa Romeo. I love this kind of education. I would have really paid attention in school if my history lessons were all about cars instead of wars. 😃👍🙏🏻😘
As an American, I haven't had a lot of exposure to Alfa, other than what I have read up on and come across in LA. This video almost felt like a historical timeline video that had a well thought out production. Great video, Tim! Thank you.
Shmee, the david attenborough of motoring ! you've changed the game ! thank you, this was on another level , cheeerrrs
You walked straight past the GTV6 without a mention. One of the best Alfas of the 80s.
Awesome video old friend. Shmee does the best tours. Take it from an old youtube consumer 👍🏼 Great work keep it up.
This video is a true cultural journey through the history of a great Italian sports brand ! As an Italian I say.....Bravissimo Shmee ! 😉👍
Man... The 8C is the best looking shape design ever.
Amazing and very nice collection🏁🍀
Wow pretty much every car in this collection is absolutely beautiful and all are interesting in their own way. Hope that I got to visit this museum some day.
I've always been drawn to the Alfa marque, my first car at age 17 (legal driving age in the UK) was a 147 1.6 twin spark petrol in the classic Alfa red. Cost a hell of a lot to insure! I was aware Alfa had quite the history but didn't know the scale of it and all the amazing cars very few people probably know about until watching this video, so thanks Shmee.
It's a shame that Alfa isn't as successful a maruqe as Audi, BMW etc. It would be great if they were the Fiat Group's genuine equivalent to those big German brands with a full model lineup from supermini to supercar & SUV to luxury saloon all with the lovely Alfa styling. Unfortunately we just get the Giulia, Stelvio and lower end Guilietta as the only current models. No attractive coupe or Spider model, MiTo and hotter Guilietta discontinued rather than updated models being brought in. Even the little MiTo looked lovely and I'd be very interested in buying one if they were updated, especially if they had a QV model with around 200bhp to properly match other small hot hatches whilst beating them all with the Alfa style. I've read a while back they were considering a RWD Guilietta replacement but with the current motorcar climate I doubt that's the route they'd take - even BMW has changed their 1 series from RWD to FWD or 4WD.
I'm still happy that despite the limited lineup they are making some great cars and hope that will give them the momentum they need to become a popular maruque that has a demand for various models.I'm sure we will see a coupe & Spider model at some point as they could do that with the Giulia platform and easily produce a desirable car if the looks back up the Alfa name. I really do hope I end up becoming an Alfa Romeo owner again! Even better if it's that stunning Tipo 33 Stradale, as others have commented it really is one of the most beautiful cars ever. Only a spare £10m or so needed...
I have 4 of these and I drive them every day........In Gran Turismo Sport.
Bro i hope you get this in real life💪🏼
Actually lucky man, I play GT and I dont have any 10 Million+ cars.
I have the MiTo in GT and in real life.
Been there... amazing place, those 1930's 8C race cars still makes me gag and seeing them up close was just emotional. There's another small privately owned Alfa museum with an 8C raced by Nuvolari - almost made me cry!
Worth a trip to Italy I say! 👍
I felt like that when i saw the Disco for the first time.
You get access to the greatest of places Shmee🔥 epic content 👌
The Alfa museum looks fantastic, could spend days there. What a mecca for any car enthusiasts.Did they have a Orange Montreal in there with Tornado black mirrors and quad Ansa exhaust? I love a museum filled with iconic surprises my favourite is the Udvar Hazy in Chantilly,But I think the Alfa museum would top that.
Alfa Romeo made some great cars. Cars that are still extremely OP in the Forza series to this day too lmao. I love "classic" cars so much, the design and elegance.
WOW A fantastic historical experience to see these iconic cars,Alfa Romeo Stradale 33 wow...so many to describe these cars..i am totally flabbergasted. I FEEL so proud to be a Alfa Romeo owner since 1975 December Berlina 2000, 3 of them,Alfa 33 and currently the 156 Alfa Romeo V6 sportwagon..
My favourite car company. My fav are the group C prototype and the 33 tipo stradale, absolutely stunning.
I thought about buying the Brera but the Mito became my final answer...
Such a fun little car !

Hi, keep up the good work!
U r vert hard working about videos and awesome dedication. U r very nice personality.👌🏻👍🙏🏻🤐😘
Thanks for the video tour Shmee. Had planned on going there this year for 110th anniversary and than Corona-19 hit :-( I am an old ALFA fan (72 years old) ....my first car was a 1969 ALFA spider bought new when I lived in San Francisco and kept for over 40 years before selling to a collector to make garage space for a 2015 4C Launch Edition also bought new....love both cars. If I had garage space I would still have both. Also ran a 67 GTV in B Sedan SCCA road racing for two years. Over the years I have had the opportunity to drive a real GTA, SZ, and GTZ-1. Members of my AROC in Detroit chapter in Michigan have a 8C., another real GTA, and a few older ALFAs in concourse shape. There are also a couple of GTAm clones in the club that are amazing. There is also a company near Detroit called RCR (Race Car Recreations) that built all the race cars in the Ford vs. Ferrari movie. They are building a few 33 Stradale replicas that are excellent.....with Maserati engines and choice of fiber glass or aluminum bodies and all CNC suspension. One of my club members is planning on getting one. I am happy with my 4C but always lusted after a GTZ-1. ALFA...."Always Looking For Another"
Great video, I would happily spend an entire week in that showroom
Wow. What an awesome museum
Didn’t know I’d be learning about tractors from a Shmee video! That Romeo tractor is an IHC Titan that was licensed for them to sell under the Romeo name. Very cool!
Every day is a school day! Great video Tim 👏🏼👏🏼
This museum is definitely worth a visit. I have been there :)
Great Video Shmee ! No Duettos or Spiders in the Museum ?
Absolutely digging that MiTo. I have one myself and I absolutely love it. Nobody can change my love for that car 😍
