I am not ashamed to admit when I visited the new Alfa museum, I was so moved by the beauty of the 33 stradale, I actually had tears coming down my face. The fusion of masculine and feminine lines in such a tiny exquisite piece of machinery is breathtaking. 🥰 Remains to this day my favourite car design ever. God bless you Matteo for bringing this memory back.
The race cars were gorgeous, the '67-8 2-litre Le Mans long tail cars in particular. All 33s are special, of course. There's something jewel-like about them, with all the lovely alloy castings for the engjne and gearbox, the always breathtaking bodywork... On one hand, it's sad there's so few of them, but that's part of the legend and mystique, and I imagine they're all maintained and preserved, and beloved of their fortunate owners. I hope they all get driven- I don't see how one could resist!
In my opinion the 33 stradle is one of the most beautiful car ever made in the history of automobile. It’s up there with Ferrari F40 Ferrari 250 GTO / AC COBRA / Lamborghini Muria / Porsche 917. I think for a deep pocket hardcore car collector 33 Strdale ALFA SHOULD BE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CAR IN THEIR COLLECTION. to have and should be driven once a mount and for the rest of the month it should be in the garage to be watched with a glass of wine
Without a doubt one of the most beautiful cars ever made. The intricate mash up of different compound curves coming from all directions makes it a true historical masterpiece. Nobody than the exact people involved could've come up with something similar in any other time and place in history.
One of my favorite designs of all time the 33 Stradale. Thanks for keeping history of such iconic cars alive, my friend! Absolutely love your videos, Matteo! 🤩
There are kits for sale. One that comes in two different levels, one that you can mount on an Opel Tigra, and one more proper but more difficult to build, based on a tubular body. I don't remember the manufacturer, but search for it on the Internet.
so much i love about 33 race cars particularly vaccarella winning Targa Florio & mid 70 s domination but ultimately its the stunning & iconic concept cars particularly the Bertone carabo & pininfarina & of course the factory stradale by scaglione
I think the Alfa 33 is such a testament to the genius of Carlo Chitti. I didn't realise there were quite so many evolutions and engine / chassis configurations. But the Stradale is amazingly beautiful and I think each one probably unique, I have definitely seen different versions of headlight design, something which would be utterly bonkers in a modern car design. Thanks Matteo, and congratulations on being a contributor for Auto Italia magazine, I only realised when picking up a copy in Scotland last week. Gear job as ever!
Very true. Carlo Chiti was an outstanding engineer and yes, each 33 Stradale is slightly different from the other, due to their hand-crafted nature. Regarding headlights, only the two prototypes have four lights, while the “production” ones had two. That’s because the lower set of lights on the prototypes were placed too low and didn’t comply with minimum height regulations. Thank you, glad you enjoyed my column on Auto Italia!
Saw all these iterations of the 33 with my own eyes at Alfa Romeo Museum in Milan just a couple months ago. Even got myself a tiny, 1:32 scale model of the final version on the way out at the gift shop. What a stunning beauty, what a glorious period in Alfa's history! I highly recommend the visit to the museum - you will easily spend 3 - 4 hours there, like I did 😊
Just a big :) I think (just as the majority of us), the 33 stradale , is the most beautiful and exciting car ever made!!! What is there more to say than just thank you for the gift you have given us with this video.
Using the words "Master Piece" is quite correct. This must be one of the very best Alfa videos ever. What works of art, words fail me to describe my feelings. Italian passion that we will not see again as cars become electric. What a shame.
Thank you! Well, electric power doesn't get in the way of aesthetics at all, so it's very much possible that we will see many more pretty Alfas in the future... Hopefully, at least!
@@Matteo_Licata Yes, I hope so too, but the loss of the smell of gasoline, tyres heated engines, race day noise, alas, I am so lucky to have seen, heard and smelt it.
thanks for sharing your tremendous knowledge on the 33 Stradale - it's striking lines i have always admired, but impressive and formidable back story has always been a mystery - at least until now. Hopefully Alfa Romeo will return to having this level of exploring different chassis and body types. The 4C is a promising start.
Excellent video again. Looking forward to a possible video on Alfa's F1 history. The Tippo 33 Stradale in my opinion is way sexier than the 4C. Thank-you again.
I need to find a 1:43 version, which is still affordable... Gorgeous car, which is made even more desirable by the fact that no regular person can ever get their hands on it... Great video even if it hurts :D
Wow, thank you! Such enthusiastic support is precisely what keeps me going. Rest assured that I'm here on RUclips for the long run, as I enjoy very much making videos and reading the comments.
This period is fascinating as there was such a jumble of different engineering ideas fighting each other for attention. Thank you Matteo for the anorak detail. This car co-opts the idea of a "tub" for the fuel tanks from the Lotus 25 / Lola (later Ford GT) with the idea of taking 4 cylinder expertise into a V8. It straddles the awkward period of wide tyres into "doughnuts". Obviously this type of car is beyond reach (as is the Miura), but thankfully Mr Dallara has built the car that I would most care to buy...
Wow! Fantastic video! Although I grew up in Germany, Alfa Romeo was the maker of the first car I drove, an Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Junior. Quite something!
Prepare to be surprised, then :) Today we lust after many cars we did not give a second thought in period, so it’s possible it’ll happen for the Tonale as well… Who knows?
As Alfista I'd say 33, but the Miura has been a milestone, something that the 33 did not represent, despite its infinite beauty of lines and proportions. The 33 represented the height of beauty of a style already outdated when the model came out. Now we only see its incredible beauty
That’s an almost impossible choice… But I’d go for the 33. Not just for the brand, but also because of its rarity. Miuras are often seen at high-profile events, while you almost never see a 33.

God bless you Matteo for bringing this memory back.
I can fully understand. I remember tearing up at a Monaco GP, to the sound of a 1990s Ferrari F1 V12…
If you have a PC you can race it in the game Asetto Corsa. It’s a blast
Me too! what a beauty!
I saw one of the running car in Malaysia.
Probably best looking car ever built
One of the few cars that transcends cars and artistic sculptures
This Stradale 33 is really a delicious car to look at. It really is the pride of the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Milano. Such a gorgeous shape….
The most gorgeous car ever build ... 🇮🇹🍀👍
I'd go with that! 😊

At last, now I understand why there are so many different 33s. Many thanks.
Glad to help :)

The car that defined alfa romeo
A beautiful masterpiece that's truly an alfa
Love this car & Love this video
Thank you!
Excellent vid. The 33 Stradale is absolutely drop dead gorgeous

Thank you Juanma!!!
The Most gorgeus car of history!!
the Stradale is the most beautiful car ever made , great vid thanks for sharing
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
The Tipo 33 Stradale is so gorgeous that I simply can't understand why there is no kit car based on it.
Some replicas have indeed been made over the years, but yes, I'm not aware of any commercially available kits to build one

If i had infinite money, this one (original 33)would be in my garage and a 8c disco volante
Fabulous work as always, Matteo. Thank you so much. Best wishes from NZ.🇳🇿🍀❤️
I want one!! I agree, one of the most desirable cars ever made.🍀
Indeed!
I have a Hot Wheels Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale :)
Great video. I learned a lot.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!!!

It really is! Thank you!

I bought the Minichamps one last year with the gorgeous box, but I can't say it was affordable.. :D
I have so many of your videos saved in my Alfa Romeo playlist, absolutely love the content! please keep it up

What a wonderful video! Thank you for this🙏
Glad you enjoyed it so much, thank you!
Bravo Matteo.
Grazie
Grazie a te! 👍
Thank you so much, great episode
Glad you appreciated it, thank you!
grazie mille, Matteo
I am subscribed! Keep up this wonderful work! 🏁
Thank you and welcome onboard! I'll upload a new one tomorrow :)
Viva Alfa Romeo! Will miss your insights into Alfa History.
I’m not going anywhere :)
A new video will be out next weekend too
I didn't know about the SC12 Turbo's twin-turbocharged 2.1 flat-12, that sounds bonkers
Bella Bella 🍀❤️😍
Will we be lusting Tonales and Stelvios in years to come?Unlike the 33,which is immortal....
Yes, seems so sad
Prepare to be surprised, then :)
Today we lust after many cars we did not give a second thought in period, so it’s possible it’ll happen for the Tonale as well… Who knows?
At the risk of dropping an old cliche... That's amore.
Yes please
So hot that it deserves to wear a Ferrari badge but fans know that it’s way cooler than a Ferrari.
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
33 Stradale or Lambo Muira?
Stradale hands down
As Alfista I'd say 33, but the Miura has been a milestone, something that the 33 did not represent, despite its infinite beauty of lines and proportions.

@@Matteo_Licata do you know how many 33 stradale are still existing?
A Miura, just refined.
Performance was quite similar too, which is all the more impressive given the 33's engine is half the size of a Miura's
Synergy should bring out a Replika with their
2.0 V8.
