When I think of wilderness, those are the images that come to mind. I knew you were going to pull big fish out of those deep holes. Love it when they jump out of the water for dry flies. Awesome!
Wow, what a privilege to fish such a beautiful river with outstanding scenery!! Far superior to most of our small rivers in the UK. Great vblogs! Thanks 👍🏼
I’m going to venture and say this is in Colorado but could be anywhere on the west coast. Beautiful stream with eager trout of nice size. Fantastic video.
LOL @David Gray. I hear ya brother! I wasted my life working - and then I retired - now I'm wasting my life fishing! 👍 I had to stop working due to sickness and age. Best decision I ever made. Once I stopped working I got healthy.
Drew, this has got to be one of your best videos ever! I watch this in the morning when I have my coffee and before I go to bed at night. So relaxing and peaceful. Incredible.
@@LooknFishy this was an Idaho stream? Am I missing it or do you make it a habit not to revel the streams you are fishing? I’m headed to ID next week and was trying to figure out where this stream river is located. I’ll be up near kelley creek but will be around 4 days or so and am looking to find some remote streams like the one in this video.
Drew, We are going to call you "King Cuttroat" What a fine display of skill and finesse. I felt like I was watching a "Clinic" on how to trick the trout to hit the fly. Well done, I really enjoy watching your videos.....
@@LooknFishy Me too. I had a Trout hit a Stimulator on the surface last summer in the same way. A Fly I never threw but had in my box for 20 years. Have more now though....
Great video. Beautiful river and trout. I didn't quite get your setup at the end...I just do dry fly. I wonder if the fishing would have been as good with dry flies. Thanks.
Hey Drew, awesome stuff and really appreciate your tips and flies you use and would love to know what stream this is!! thanks for the flie selection tips!
Hi Drew, great videos you've inspired me to get my fishing license a bit early this year. Heading out tomorrow for the first day this season. In a future video would you show how you take the hook out of the fish while in the net? And are all your flies barbless? Thank you.
I’m originally from British Columbia. This reminds me so much of the streams and rivers Kamloops trout steelhead coho salmon, you name it. Thanks for the great videos!
I just stumbled onto this video and your channel. When you got down to the creek and could see it for the first time I said "Hey, that's where I was fishing in August this summer." I dropped down in the same exact place! This is my home area.. Great video, and appreciate you not naming places. Happy fishing!
I will retire in May 2024. I am hoping to travel thru da U.P. via US-2 (St. Ignace, Michigan to Seattle) west to Montana and Idaho then drop south to Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico then head back to Michigan before the snow flies. Fishing all the way. I love your videos Drew. 925 days!
I recommend driving scenic hwy 12 from Missoula to Lewiston ID on your non-winter travels out west Sir. Goes through under-rated Bitterroot-Selway wilderness along it's magestic veins the Lochsa, Selway & Clearwater rivers. Outstanding country. Appreciate your service Mr Winston 🙏
Glad I found your channel. I used to fish small streams with limited amounts if tackle when I was younger. I love to fish, so I started buying more and more stuff, expensive boats that cost more than my truck, etc. I admit, I’m able to go where big fish are and can get novices into high catch rates, but I’m not having any more fun and it’s become work. Time to check the waders for leaks, dust off the chest pack, and spend some time with a fly rod.
You are out in the wilderness by yourself a lot. Do you carry any kind of emergency communicator like a Garmin InReach during your backcountry fishing trips?
Living in N Idaho, I've fished a lot of these smaller streams and they are my absolute favorites for wading (sometimes swimming) from pool to pool. Can you provide a county or a region that these streams are in for a fella to go explore?
I do on streams I'm familiar with...just don't always video it b/c I'm tired or batteries are dead. But usually at the end of the day in a new area on a new stream I'm a little cautious and give myself enough time to hike out. Especially since typically I don't know where the trail is off the stream or how far I went.
just stumbled on this today. great video. planning a trip to idaho 2023 in what should be epic wilderness. looking for a new adventure. if your ever in utah let me know might have a few off the beaten spots you would enjoy.
Im doing Wyoming and Montana next spring... A week or morebin each, im going to ve watching a rewatching all of your footage all winter ling 🎉🎉🎉🎉.... Maybe I can get a few locatinons to add to my list if GO TOO !!!! After this trip, i only have two states left ( Alaska and Hawaii ❤
Why did you need a 2nd rod if i may ask ...just to have a different lure/set up readyto go?? Beautiful river btw❤️🙏 Oh man! I just read your whole descriptive summary off of the title... I'm so envious!! 2 months on the road!?!?! You are living a dream !!
What a day! Thanks for sharing. This is one of the ones you'll watch again when you're an old man.
No question, said it in the last video (I think) youtube is my own online fishing journal...I just make it public lol!

Love listening to the water and sounds of hook sets while working.
Haha, very cool! Good thing I don't talk much or scream out obscenities lol!
yes, not putting a music into music itself :)
Awesome man, glad you got to enjoy our backyard. It’s a great place and hopefully stays quiet for years to come.
Was a good time for sure!
Just a lovely stream. Glad you don't play music along with the video. The sound of the stream is music to my ears. Thanks for posting.
Glad to hear it, definitely feel like the sounds of nature are all that's needed!
Agree 100%
You’re videos are second to none! Absolutely beautiful stream and area but it’s making me want to retire sooner…. Thanks for sharing,

Perfect. Not a lot of talking, gets right to the action. A short explanation of gear and flys used at the end. Subscribed!
Every time I think you can't possibly beat a video, you do. Great video, thanks.
More amazing scenery and more amazing fish. Truly spectacular.
Couldn't agree more!
Cool body of water. I’m enjoying this trip a ton from my phone. Can’t imagine how much you loved it.
It was crazy good, been crazy fun to watch too!
A true stream of dreams! Those big cutty's were beautiful!
Yes it was!
This stream borders on perfection!
Almost named it The Perfect stream...but there's one I feel is better coming up lol!
Don't you mean RIVER ?
Wow, just wow!!!!! It would be easy to get spoiled there.
Paradise. Thanks for posting.
If I ever found a river like this one I would never leave. FANTASTIC!!
It was really hard to leave but I told myself I'd go back!

I had to stop working due to sickness and age. Best decision I ever made. Once I stopped working I got healthy.
Yup, best decision I ever made was to start chasing experience and not possessions. Not always easy but incredibly rewarding!
We are blessed, but there are so many great places around the world to fish. Where are you from?
Doesn't get a heck of a lot better than that! How fun....
Nope, it was special!
Actually did a really good job of not burning this location 🙏🏻. Better than most of the locals!
What a beautiful river - pocket water galore, and brimming with good-sized trout.
No crowds help the trout. People tend to destroy the big scheme of MN. If you care, think about your every step.
Absolutely beautiful strem

Gorgeous river…. but the zip ties holding the net bag is genius….have you had to replace the ties every year or two or will they last longer?
Never had to replace them. The bag wears out sooner.
