I fished old fashioned wet flies and spiders in the Goobragandra in shallow water. Delightful. :-) Improved my abilities a lot i think.
@@TERRYBIGGENDEN Yes i find that as well, accomplish quite expensive around those parts!! Its a shame. Will have to fish Tumut one day!!
I;t sa nice area. People say there are few fish i the Goobrgandra river-I donlt really know. I feel they are there. I'd love to explore more of it. :-) Upper Yarra hopefully if I get the chance. :-)
@@TERRYBIGGENDEN Yes i want to get up to the upper Yarra as well, have you fished with a guide before Terry?
My back would be sweating with all those bags.
Where did you get that backpack fishing vest or what brand is it?
Patagonia
Why??? Fishing for minnow sized fish on a creek it takes 4 steps to cross and a max cast of 10 feet...What next, deep-sea fishing in a kiddie pool??? Pathetic...
This channel will show small and large rivers, streams and lakes, more videos coming! Not everyone can get to a big river easily I’m afraid.
Reminds me of my years in Western New York, Well done Mate!
You missed the 2nd fish. Nice concentration.
Hey Scott, awsome video hope you make some more. Also where did you the compactible fishing net from?
Hi Kris, Scott actually sells them, they are great, head to his website and send him an email. Thanks
They range in price from $70.00 to $120.00.
I hardly use any other net these days.
Ive seen it. Luckily by best friend is a guide lol
This was one of the best fly fishing vids I have seen! Great work
Thanks Sam, looking to do some more this season, so keep your eyes out.
It was great fun making it.
The weather and fish aligned for a perfect day.
Fishing Brooks and streams is so much fun 😄
I just went flyfishing for about the 4th time this afternoon, I can assure you it didn't go like this.
lol. comes with lots of practice, luckily the practice is lots of fun. head out with a good guide they teach you heaps!!
Practice and time.
Get some good guidance then get out and play 😎
When you want it you pull it out and you go doonk! Go it.
Hey Scottie, great vid. Hope to cross paths with you again some time.
Been some time 😎
This Season has been fantastic.
Some awesome trout around 😊
Too much work , I prefer sitting on shore smoking a big fat one watching my bobber float slowly by. To each his own it still beats a good day at work.
lol
This has Everything one looks for in a video.
Fly choice;water selection;rod weight used etc
Very rare on all the millions of videos out there
Really enjoyed this one
Collin iyapian - South Africa
Thanks Ciarchitectural! Your comments are very much appreciated, more videos coming soon with more great fly fishermen. Where do you fish?
@@PureAdventureFlyFishing good day
i am based in Johannesburg, South Africa
in the summer, we fish for a species endemic to here called the Yellow fish and also Carp
In the winter we head up the mountains and try for trout
Had a great day on the river on Saturday
have a good one , all the best
Collin Iyapian
Awesome video this guy is very obviously a pro. I also noticed he never took his backpack off that must have some serious support and comfort to not even bother taking it off while you fish lol
Where can I get that net ? I rarely get fish but it will be a nice toy in the lounge room
send scottie a message from his website, he sells them direct scott@indulgenceflyfishing.com.au
They are a fantastic net once you learn how to refold them 😊
Not sure why fly fishing is so romantized. I've been fishing streams for 50 years all over the US and and overseas using a micro spin caster. I can fly fish but prefer to use a good spinner!
I guess its just a personal preference Moe Pow! Glad you watched though! Sounds like you have had some great fishing adventures around the globe!!!!
Great video! This guy is a fountain of knowledge and shows great technique. I learned a lot thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the kind words.
I spend a lot of time working on my craft 😎
@@scottiemcpherson3466 it shows and you do a great job of the teaching part of guiding as well. A guest should learn from their guide and I am sure your guests learn a lot on their trips with you. Well done!
Really nice basic stuff! "In aussie accent"
I love this so much thank you
Thanks Femboy Fishing. Lots of videos coming up, where do you flyfish? how long have you been flyfishing mate?
I was looking to get into fly fishing since the pandemic has kept me inside so much, I already use a spinning reel but fly fishing could be a new fun learning curve. Great vid; cheers.
Thanks Izzy ! definitely tonnes of fun!! make sure you get out there!!
Pros and cons of spinner fishing streams?
good question Titanic, but i’m afraid i don’t do any spinner fishing and not sure if Scottie does sorry. Thanks for your comments though and hope you give fly fishing a go!!
Brilliant video your technique and the way u explain different areas of runs Tom from Ireland
Thanks Tom!
Thanks Tom;
Many hours out playing and learning.
I am still looking, studying and thinking about the water in front of me.
There is always something new that I notice or come up with to deal with a situation.
Never stop learning 😎
Ever wanted to see a professional Fly Fisherman work a stream... No but now i do.
Great video. I love fly fishing. If I haven't caught anything in the first 5 minutes, there are no fish there and it's time to find another spot. Beaver ponds are also great fishing spots. I would go out at 6 in the morning, cross the road to the beaver pond and catch 2 x 8" - 10" trout in 10 minutes. Go back to the cottage and cook trout and eggs for breakfast for my wife and I.
that’s a dream morning Richard, love it!!
where do you guide? I want to fish with you a day
North East Victoria, check out Scotties website for details
The internet has made me believe there's a deadly snake every 10 feet "down under". I was nervous for you.
We had a Tiger Snake a few feet from us yesterday.
Beautiful to watch.

I'm so intrigued.
What is that thing on the side of the fishes body?
At first I thought it was some kind of bug... is it just a drop of blood?
A bug!
That was amazing.. I just got my first fly rod today.. I'm excited to try it since I've been seeing alot of nice trout eating off the surface with no interest in my lures I'm hoping I can get the hang of it quickly. This video showed me it has not so much to do with fancy casting but just being subtle and using ur brain.. was wondering how to use a giant rod on a little stream and this was awesome to see. Thanks for posting and wish me luck
Good luck Richard! You will love it. Try and hire a guide when you can and you will pick it up pretty quick! Send a link or some photos when you can mate!
Any luck ?
Haha did u go off the deep end with fly fishing since then? Lots to learn haha
Did you catch something yet?
Cant wait to land a good sized trout on my fly rod
Amazing video, the cinematography, commentary and respect for the fish were incredible. Also love the origin of the name! I have to get down to Vic when this pandemic dies down, hope you guys are doing okay
thanks Jimjim, much appreciated, more videos coming soon! where are you mate?
Can you recommend a rod weight and length for fishing small creeks like in your video. Love the videos
That particular rod is the Sage TXL 7’10” 2wt 3pc. Matched with a WF2 line
Great video Scott and very relaxed tone to it as well.
Thanks 😎
It was a great day on the water with Aarron
masterclass for small and bigger streams
One f the ost delightful fly fishing clips ever. Thanks. :-) That water is exquisite.
Thanks Terry, where abouts are you from?
@@PureAdventureFlyFishing Helo. I'm in Sydney. I'm so hoping I can get to fish the Sreavenson river and nearby before I get too old. Very frustrated with the virus and border closures. I'm hoping for the best though. :-)
I am glad that you enjoyed my efforts 😎
Terry: give me a yell when the borders open.
We are having a cracker season.
@@scottiemcpherson3466 Tanks. We'll see how it goes. Lucky you all with all that water nearby. :-)
Not gonna lie, that's alot of commercials. Kept me from subscribing.
Understand. I out a lot of effort in making each one also.
We need more!
more being edited at the moment!!
i dont think men should wear earrings after the age of 20. and not even then. jus sayin. i do appreciate the video. good job
Thanks for your comments Paul, you reminded me of the show 21 Jump street, didn’t Jonny Depp have a great big ear ring also?? More videos coming!!
