    Because of this he made sure to we enjoyed all the outdoor activities Montana has to offer. I enjoyed catching beautiful trout the best.

    Besides grizzly bears, there are other wildlife on this creek to watch out for. The only mountain lion I have seen was on this creek. It was heading to the creek as I was fishing up creek towards it. At first I thought it was a deer so kept walking. When we keyed in on each other, we had a stare off as I slowly backed away. It left. But I was wary the rest of the day.

What size are the nymphs you are using. They looked like 14ish but the camera might make them larger. Thanks for any info and I know you are not using the same size all the time just a general size that you use on the small waters.

    • @nancyarnold4934
      @nancyarnold4934 Год назад +1

      I have lived in Montana since the mid 70’s. Up until a few years ago you could be on many creeks in Montana without running into people. But it’s not like that anymore. I lived in Colorado in the early 70’s so think I know what you are saying. Montana has passed that stage and has gotten really popular since the pandemic plus we are suffering from the “Yellowstone” and its spinoff’s effect. Montana is quickly moving past how Colorado was pre 70’s. Not to say it didn’t happen before, but there is an increase in new parking areas along the creeks where people decided not to honor past tradition but just make their own to get in where no one else is fishing at the moment. On many creeks you could count on fishing the entire section from one traditional ingress spot to the next, but not anymore. Unfortunately, the influx of people has brought an increase in trash, fire rings, new dispersed camping spots, human feces and toilet paper in camping areas and along trails. I have fished a lot of the creek Drew is on in these videos for many years. The number of people on it has increased exponentially. I have walked more than an hour up a part of this creek only to have a person literally run ahead of me to beat me to the part of the creek that person decided he wanted to fish more than me, even though I was parked at a bridge crossing first and left a note on my windshield and on my rear window indicating where I was fishing. People used to honor when a car or two was parked in an area and move on so they let people have solitude and so they could enjoy some solitude themselves. While fishing sections on the trail Drew showed, I have had people both high and low hole me. I have had many similar experiences on other creeks. Most of them happening within the last couple of years. My experience is not unique. Montana has been discovered and is quickly moving from being “The Last Best Place.” Regards, The Creek Hag.

      This assessment may seem cynical, but it is correct. There are many new residents and more and more traveling visitors. Everyone coming here in one form or another has a taste for the outdoors, is armed with digital inspiration (like what we all watch on RUclips), and is guided by a detailed mapping app with GPS control on the phone in their pocket. Nothing is undiscovered, it's just "who can walk the farthest." People are not stumbling across great streams or hunting areas, they are specifically targeting pre-determined remotely scouted spots with surgical precision. It's our new world and the new setting which we all operate within to enjoy the outdoors. It is both awesome and sucky at the same time.
