What a surprise...I went for Metallica... Clean sweep! I'm like you and love Young and Wasted, Ralph. It's the best track on Lick it Up but it doesn't beat Jump in the Fire IMO.
1.) Hit the Lights 2.) Not for the Innocent 3.) Lick it Up 4.) Young and Wasted 5.) Gimmie Gimmie More 6.) Whiplash 7.) Phantom Lord 8.) No Remorse 9.) Seek and Destroy 10.) Metal Militia Kiss-4 Metallica-6

Kiss two metallica eight. I love young and wasted, but I couldn't put it over.Jump in the fire. I think i'm gonna listen to both of these albums tomorrow.
I agree. I also like Lick It Up more than Kill Em All. But.... The following next 2 albums i have a hard time to feel any Kiss album will knock out. Maybe Rock 'n Roll Over VS Ride The Lightning track by track. But i'm not so sure about that either.
Hit the lights…not for the innocent…moterbreath..jump in the fire…gimme more…whiplash…phantom lord…no remorse…seek and destroy…metal militia…kiss got WRECKED
James on drums and John Bush on vocals. Lars on business and swindling. Mustaine on rhythm and Hammett on lead guitar with wah-wah pedal removed. Don't let Bob Rock in the studio.
Yeah I think Dave wrote Phantom Lord, The Four Horsemen, Jump in the Fire, and Metal Militia. Believe it or not, I didn't use Wikipedia, I just remember for some reason lol.
You’ve done this before. Still a great battle! For me it’s: Hit the Lights Four Horseman Motorbreath Young & Wasted Gimmie More Whiplash A Million to One No Remorse Seek & Destroy Metal Militia KISS: 3 Metallica: 7 My 2 favorite bands who both released albums in 1983!
01 Hit the Lights 02 Not for the Innocent 03 Motorbreath 04 Jump in the Fire 05 Gimme More 06 Whiplash 07 A Million to One 08 No Remorse 09 Seek & Destroy 10 And on the 8th Day Metallica 6 - KISS 5

I love thrash Metallica. But I agree, "A Million To One" from KISS is a great song. Paul's vocals, and the songwriting is killer. Catchy song. I'd probably pick it over Phantom Lord also.
I was listening to deep obscure NWOBHM long before I first heard Kill Em All. The kids at the school went crazy over it like this band was doing something groundbreaking. It has its own merit but in my opinion hasnt aged well. Good for the teenage 80s kids though. Id rather hear Lick It Up as an old man these days
1. Hit the Lights 2. The Four Horsemen 3. Lick It Up 4. Young and Wasted 5. Anesthesia [Pulling Teeth] 6. Whiplash 7. Phantom Lord 8. No Remorse 9. Seek and Destroy 10. Metal Militia Metallica: 8 Kiss: 2
Weird album battle. Exciter- Heavy Metal Maniac vs Metallica- Kill Em All, would make more sense. Imagine if Kill Em All had Lick It Up’s production value. It would probably be my favorite Metallica album. Lick It Up is the 2nd best no makeup KISS album behind Creatures of the Night IMO. It’s hard for me to rank Kill Em All in the Metallica discography because the production is so atrocious but the songs are all classic.
Two kick ass 83 albums...... gotta go Metallica 1. Exciter 2. Not for the innocent 3. Motorbreath 4. Young and wasted 5. Pulling teeth 6. Whiplash 7. A million to one 8. No remorse 9. Seek and destroy 10. Metal militia
Every time I hear someone mention lick it up, I think of the family guy episode where it was the only song playing in the hummer 😂 I love KISS, but I can't stand that song- never stop rockin Ralph 🤘❤🤙
Same year, 1983. KISS stab at Heavy Metal vs Metallica, the future of Heavy Metal. Interesting cause it comes down to the songs. I don't like to list my # cause I'm long winded anyway but it's a tie. It's all about the song order on this for me. Shmackem Agab!
Hey Ralph, You have to review the newly released , Bryan Adams versions of War Machine and Rock and Roll Hell. It would be cool for a kiss Wednesday also to see what you think. Rock on man!
Mr. Mustaine had never presented a complete - I.e. finished song before or during his barely one year stint with Metallica - promise - [his] were merely rough ideas and unfinished riffs: The Four Horsemen, Jump In The Fire, Phantom Lord, Metal Militia, Ride The Lightning, Call of Ktulu - each were collaboratively written, and the jury is out on whether the track, Leper Messiah, which Mustaine claims to have co-written, happens to have any truth to it. The Dave fanboys relentlessly troll social media with silly, false claims - that Mustaine wrote ‘em all, and appear to enjoy seeing Metallica devotees angrily twist in the wind - so sensitive lol. It’s all a bit amusing to watch albeit, altogether childish coming from grown men
Well, The Mechanix was in fact completed by Dave alone, lyrics and music. They changed the lyrics after he left and it morphed into The Four Horsemen. The Call of Ktulu is essentially one main riff repeated throughout most of the song - which Mustaine came up with. And last but not least, if you listen to the No Life til Leather demo, as well as the Megaforce demo of Whiplash and No remorse (the only studio recording featuring Dave and Cliff) and then you listen to Kill ‘em All, Kirk plays Dave’s solos sometimes note for note with very little deviation. All that considered, Mustaine is very much all over Kill ‘em All. I think they should have let him record that album with them, and then if he didn’t get his act together, fire him. It’s also worth pointing out that in the very beginning James was just the singer and Dave was their only guitar player.
@ianwoods8712 yes we all know this. But you have to understand there some people that just say well mustaine wrote everything on those first few albums smh which is false.
@@dwaynestjohn5324oh, yeah that’s definitely not true, haha. I think Mustaine was a very important contributor to the Metallica sound in the beginning but certainly not the only one. That’s just silly
1. Hit the Lights 2. The Four Horsemen 3. Motor Breath 4. Jump in the Fire 5. Anesthesia Pulling Teeth 6. Whiplash 7. Phantom Lord 8. No Remorse 9. Seek & Destroy 10. Metal Melisha Clean Sweep for Metalica. It's really unfair to compare KISS to ANY of the first four Metallica albums. Except for Hardwired, KISS would beat the living Hell out of the Black album & beyond But, the first four Metallica albums are some of the best music ever recorded.
I hated Kiss album when it came out I liked Metallica Kill em all right away. Let's see how it goes Hit the Light (hurt) Not for the Innocent ( Yes,Mechanix is better) Motor breath ( I hate Lick it Up) Jump in the Fire Instrumental from Metallica Whiplash Million to One No Remorse ( hurt) Seek and Destroy Metal Melita ( hurt)
I never liked Kiss until they took off the makeup, I had the cassette of Lick it up and at the tender age of 17 after knocking off two pieces of ass from my girlfriend, I'd take her home and return to my house and get high as balls and listen to this and many others while I fell asleep!, ah, shit those were the days! 😃😃😃
What a surprise...I went for Metallica... Clean sweep! I'm like you and love Young and Wasted, Ralph. It's the best track on Lick it Up but it doesn't beat Jump in the Fire IMO.

If Metallica had kept Dave and fired Lars imagine what that could have been. James and Dave would have written a lot of songs together.
I would have loved that but as far as fame goes they did it without Dave. Bigger than any metal band that ever existed.
James on drums and John Bush on vocals. Lars on business and swindling. Mustaine on rhythm and Hammett on lead guitar with wah-wah pedal removed. Don't let Bob Rock in the studio.
