We’ll have to wait until Part 3 for Wutai but Canyon looks spectacular so I can’t imagine how Wutai will look. They are definitely planning on making it massive.

And when she gives back all your materia, it is in a random order and you have to rearrange them!

Hey man I do like this, but I feel there’s a certain sadness missing. Wutai lost the war and you can feel very much in the original game that despite being more Chinese influenced in sound, it is reflecting Japan after losing WW2. The anger towards becoming a tourist destination is still there along with the older generation refusing to step away from tradition in order to gain an upper hand. I feel like the version you have made fits very much for Wutai in its golden age, when it was still a power in Gaia. Good work though.

Wutai was one of those places that I accidentally ignored my first play through till nearly the end of disc 2. Going there earlier than that feels super weird because of that first experience. But I gotta do it because the music is just wonderful.

Good job. That game takes me back about 25 summers ago. Me and my buddy named Tifa "BIGTITS" and Barrett "HOMEY G". I followed the bradygames strategy guide to the letter and despite spending an entire summer playing, I still remember my ps1 save saying it was 40hrs. (40 hours actual save time).
It's crazy how much stuff goes up in value when it is nostalgic. That same strategy guide that was like 10 bucks at the time I just saw on amazon for $75.

A highly underrated side quest.
I completely agree i think its because it's a missable side quest and if you miss the quest itself wutai can seem a little lack luster.

Mike Spearwood you’re supposed to have Yuffie before a certain point, and I think you go there right after you get the tiny bronco and this whole scenario gets triggered. It’s a ton of character development for her and her background. You get a bigger picture of the war with Shinra and Sephiroth in that side quest too. It’s really easy to miss, and once you miss it, you can’t go back and do it

It's neat hearing some of the same instruments and invocations thematically compared to Stormblood in FFXIV, especially Kugane, Ruby Sea, the Violet Tides dungeon, and Susano, amongst other fights. But this just echoes with power and ambition beyond the original. Really excited for the remake!
