FF12 gets my sentiment for that, but man I cannot even begin to dispute anyone who insists FF8 deserves that title instead.

Most musicians can make a good song. Some musicians can make great songs. Then Uematsu comes along and shows the ability to just make masterpieces, like I don't think he has ever made a bad song, it's insane.
It's insane how many unforgettable pieces Uematsu has created.
I still use this shit while i hit a new weight at gym. HYPE.
I was so disappointed and pissed that Griever can't be summoned at all and that in any other final fantasy is not placed as an aeon. I really really loved his design and his meaning. The Griever is the summa of all the sufferences, fears, delusions and the hunting nightmares of the bearer, but also is his will to stand tall against and finally to overcome them. I really feel the poetry of Nietzche behind the Griver.. also becausr in the book Behind Good and Evil Nietzsche explicitly say " one must became a camel to bear the weight of the reality, then a lion to stand against the gold dragon that represent the fears, then born again as a child.
Hell yeah Santa. Running to the Extreme by Enrico is awesome too.
The dude was in permanent beast mode. I've been listening to his soundtracks daily since I was like 8 years old, life wouldn't be the same without his music.

An FF8 remake is always the best remake.
Maybe after 6 remake, 9 remake, so for 2040 is ok
Square Enix should had added a config option to switch between the original and your version of the soundtrack on the Remaster.

I said it on facebook and ill say it here. You've just made my day. This is phenomenal.
Say whatever you like. FF8 was Nobuo’s peak and he thought for a moment it’s his last ost ever due to burn out. He did put entire heart into it, which is one of the reasons why ff8 remains number 1 for me, but not the only one. No ff after that had the same impact on me. And the atmosphere, military vibe, witches and the whole story has no match.
Ohhhhh so that was Griever's track! This one pops into my head now and again I had forgotten wherein the story it came from. Epic recreation!

I always knew this guy was worth adding, his music remakes are inspiritional, too bad he doesn't do much of his own compositions which would take less time :)
What do you mean, when you remake a track you have to compose all of the new elements your putting in. At worst it like creating music from a set of samples.
Amazing, I adored this track as a kid, and you did it justice. By far the best music remake of this track I’ve ever heard.
Biggest problem with FF8 is once you know how to break it, you basically just start one-shoting bosses and you never get to enjoy the full music scores

i remember when i was 12, i finally reached this point, it took forever because i didnt learn the junction system and didnt know how to enhance stats with magic. i reached this boss fight,, doing so well, the sky goes red, my little heart sinks when this tune comes on.instead death XD
That junction system took most of us down. Now I know it like my life depends on it. 😂

Same Brother, I was too excited after the middle of the game and kinda rushed to the end and wasn't leveled enough for this fight, hadn't unlocked all my abilities in the castle and Griever ripped me into pieces with shockwave pulsar

0:29 - shorten the length of the flute so that it sounds more harsh and put some biting sound on it (play with the volume level). Just try it, I think you will like it as much as I do. It sounds too soft, it lacks power I think. Very cool job! Thank you! It's very pleasant to listen to and remember the gameplay =)

I enjoy listening to this.
It's still one of the most intense boss battle themes, especially when that shock wave pulsar kicks in, then you know that shit is about to get real.

You know, the markings on this GF always made me think that Ultimecia is Rinoa's future self.
Or her descendant. Squall/Griever their heirloom GF.
At best descendant. Rinoa is Ultimecia theory has long been debunked by the people who made ff8.
The thought of rinoa never passing her sorceress powers to another and never being able to die and living for a thousand years. The whole time being driven mad by hopeless longing wanting to be with squall and becoming ultimecia just to see him again, even if its for him to kill her and put her out of her misery. That's just too much for me. Such a sweet girl like rinoa shouldn't suffer like that.
I don't know why this soundtrack is so underestimated... I played many parts of FF and I haven't heard better music.

I recall trying to kill Griever so fast that he wouldn't be able to use Shockwave Pulsar, cause it wiped my party....
Turns out that even if you kill him, he still casts it before snuffing it. Disadvantage of that strat is that you don't get to hear this track like, at all.

@@Skijaramaz Again, it's literally just Ran'jit reskinned, with Thancred's face. Both of them were her father figures, and Ran'jit willingly served Vauthry with no mind control needed on his part. Although I wouldn't be surprised if very few people remember the final fight with Ran'jit in the Eulmore aetheryte plaza
