      @@bigtruckbradThe first rise is about an hour or double in size. It depends on the temperature of your house and humidity.

    Found you during your 2022 love to and won't can again. ❤ it btw. While you say it's going to take us weeks or months (?) of practice to get it right, I think if someone turns this video on every step of the way and does not try to 2nd guess you or shortcut you, we jump right over that time frame. I have the most beautiful dough for a Hubbard Squash bread rising.
    You are a patient and thorough teacher.
    I watched you and Kneady Homesteader several times each to get ready. Great tips.

    My dear sweet lady!! I made 3 loaves of this bread last night. I haven't attempted bread since I was a teenager. I'm giving a loaf away to an elderly cousin. My daughter says it's fabulous. I'm going to make monte cristo sandwiches tomorrow. Thank you for teaching me.

    Thank you for telling me about the mixer not going past 2. I have never heard of that before but I’m so thankful! I’d hate to ruin my mixer, they’re so expensive! Thank you for these videos I truly enjoy them!

    Used my dough machine with this recipe and turned out the most beautiful tasty loaf of bread! Wish I had got a picture to post but as soon as it cooled we sliced it. Great sandwich bread and it makes awesome toast. Thank you so much for sharing!!

    I mix and knead my bread by hand. The older I get, the harder it gets to do. I just love the feel and smell of the dough. The first time I made yeast bread, the rolls were like rocks. I didn't think I would ever get it right, but i did.

    I’m 58 years old and have always wanted to make homemade bread but was scared to try. I’m southern and grew up making biscuits and cornbread but bread wasn’t taught to me. All the videos I’ve watched didn’t do a very good job of explaining the process but yours does! Thanks for taking the time to do this right so now I’m gonna try my hand at it!

    Beautiful loaf of bread! My mom was a full time nurse and didn't get many days off..however one of my best memories was coming home from school and smelling a freshly made loaf of French bread! So good!

    I have made this bread 3 times since first watching it a few weeks ago. I have made various breads but have never gotten the sandwich bread just right. This is a wonderful recipe and you are a joy to watch and listen to. I’ve stopped buying sandwich bread at store. Thank you for this and all of your videos from South Carolina!

    I absolutely love baking my bread in my cast iron bread pan.....i also bake my buns in a cast iron pan too..... there's just something about baking it in cast iron that makes it taste so good.... i'm loving watching this video

    I am so thankful for finding your channel. You have definitely helped me confidently start my bread making journey. Before I rolled/shaped, my dough, I sprinkled the rectangle with shredded cheese and jalapeño powder, which made a tasty jalapeño and cheese swirl!

    This recipe is so forgiving. Was in a hurry and put all the ingredients in the bowl together.
    Neddws additional rise time durung 2nd rising.
    Despite not following the mixing directions turned out delicious. TY

    For the first time today, I made bread that did not use milk or butter. It did not turn out good . I put too much flour in at once and it came out dense and the flavor was poor. Will try your recipe and see how it goes. I learned a lot of things from your video ! Thank you very much!!

    Ive been struggling to find a good everyday Bread recipe and i came across yours. I tried it out for the first time today and it qas a HIT!🔥🔥
    The loaf didnt even survive the night! My husband and 2 kiddos loved it.

    I've made bread for over 20 years. The past couple years it just hasn't turned out as well. I was trying to figure out why. I used this method (as the ingredients and amounts were basically the same ) since it was so different. It turned out excellent! I've done it more than once and each time it's excellent.     Cast Iron bread pans are the best ever. I like to preheat my cast iron to about 100 degree's on top the stove burner which helps with raise. Thanks for the recipe LeAnne.

    Hi LeAnn! I guess I’m old fashioned but I love homemade bread and it makes the house smell so good when it’s baking.
    I’m so glad you said about putting the mixer higher than level two, so many videos up showing them putting there Kitchenaid higher than two.
    Your bread looks so delicious. I use my electric knife to cut my bread too. You learned all the tips and tricks to bread making and cutting it. Smart woman in my book. Have a blessed night and day!!

    We live in the beautiful Snowy Mountains of Australia. Today is a cold minus 2 degrees celsius, so I guess these winter days here might not be the best time to bake bread, but I am going to give it a go. This will be my first ever bread bake attempt and I am 75 years old!

      You can use vital wheat gluten. I think a tablespoon per cup. I made it once with prairie gold wheat and it was good and softer than usual.

    Great job on your tutorial! Really enjoyed the camera angle showing how the dough looks in the mixing bowl. I've always just mixed by hand but I might have to try your way! Your bread looks great! 💙

    I cook mostly with cast iron. I've never baked bread in cast iron though. Definitely will try this recipe, the bread looks great.

    Oh my jesse was just saying yesterday he wished i could find a bread recipe that is like the store loafs….. well i will be trying this today. Can you use this in the bread maker to mix the dough? Probably huh? Thanks for sharing LeAnne!

      Yes Lisa you can mix it in the bread machine but I wouldn’t suggest letting it rise in it… the lid would pop open. you will love this bread!
