Hi there! I have recently started a photography business and I currently shoot on a Rebel T6. I have been using it for four years and was wondering if I should invest in a new camera (Canon 5D Mark IV) and new lenses, or if I should just invest in new lenses for my Rebel. How much of a difference will I see with a new body and new lenses as opposed to just new lenses? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
I've used the Sigma, Tamron and Canon versions! I had the Tamron and loved it - such a great lens and so reliable! I ended up upgrading to the Canon 35mm 1.4 L and it was worth every penny!
tamron has a 1.8 and came out with a 1.4 a little less than a year ago. been getting great reviews and supposed to be better than the canon. was it the 1.8 you had? what made you upgrade?
I had one for many years and it still great shape , I take of my camera equipment but I don baby them...;) Like many photographer I use Lightroom/photoshop so there is not problem with abrasion , I got the 1/8, 1/4, and the 1/2 version all are great...
How do I calibrate the lens to work well on the 5D Mark IV? Sorry if that seems like a dumb question. 😄 I’m trying to find a really good lens, but the canon 35mm but it’s just out of my price range. I usually do portraits and family photos (and occasionally weddings) Any advice would be great! And I LOVE watching your videos, Jessica! :) Thank you!!
Hi! Just wanted to share that whenever I try to take videos with this lense ( I also use a Canon 5D Mark IV ) There is a constant rattling sound that doesn't go away even when my subject is focused . I wonder if this happens to anyone else out there!
buy a sigma usb dock, and get rid of the AF issues. since sigma (and tamron) has multiple correction options for multiple subject discances, spending 1-2 hours to finetune it and this lens will pay back a million times the time and effort the owner put into it.
Hi! Really awesome video, very informative and well organized! I have read, when it comes to this lens, that the focusing issues only happen when you have a DSLR, because it uses a separate chip or wtv to focus. If you are using a mirrorless camera, because the focusing is different, you should have no problems with back/front focusing etc. That is what I’ve heard, not from experience. If anyone can corroborate this please feel free to reply
Just go with L...sigma is great lens, but sometimes it has problems with AF and field curvature, and it can be frustrating...L don't have that problems, and you will be lot more happy with it. :)
Jessica, with regards to focussing, sometimes calibrating the Sigma lens (or any lens) for your particular camera can help tremendously. Thank you for taking the time to make your videos xxx
so I wrote my contact at KEH and she said the code is working but that you can contact her directly bc she will be able to help more than i can! csmith@keh.com
Yes, but keep in mind 1.6x crop factor of aps-c sensor. 35mm * 1.6 = 56mm F/1.4 * 1.6 = F 2.24 ( depth of field ) But it remains bright like 1.4 And another question is how your camera handle this modern lens. ___________ P.S: You can use this lens with analogue SLR (depends on a bayonet of slr, nikon or canon) in manual mode.
Your 70D is a crop sensor camera, which is absolutely fine, but this lens is for full frame cameras so while it'll work fine on your camera you're paying extra for it being a full frame lens and it's big. So do some searches for APS-C Canon lenses if you want lighter, cheaper lenses that are designed to work with your camera and will still give you very good quality.
This is my go to #1 lens!!! I use it for everything
Do you use it with a 5d mark iv? :) if so, how did you calibrate it to not have the focusing issues?

As far as focus goes this lens can be calibrated on their Sigma USB Dock if necessary
You don't need to calibrate it if you use mirrorless cam

So if money weren't an issue, would you still recommend the sigma or go for the canon 1.4 L? Thank you for the video!!
Just go with L...sigma is great lens, but sometimes it has problems with AF and field curvature, and it can be frustrating...L don't have that problems, and you will be lot more happy with it. :)
I just found your channel and I'm blown away with how well spoken and knowledgable you are. I can see you hitting 1M subs in no time.
You should do a comparison on a full frame and a crop sensor!
Crop factor differences only.
of this lens or just a crop vs full frame in general? :) i have already done a video comparing the mark iv against a crop sensor :)
Jessica Whitaker of this lens ☺️
Do you would recommend any other lens for 35mm?
Does this lens produce vignette on Nikon full frame
Great lens! Keep doing a great work!
Just got this last month and the focus has been soooo upsetting to me! Luckily I just picked up the dock to calibrate, hope it helps 😅
Hannah Moore any luck with it??
Does the lens necessarily need to be calibrated?
Mine hasn’t...

Yes 100%! I have seen most people at least in my FB group that this happens even after calibrating. I should have mentioned that tho, thank you! xX
Can this be used on a Canon T6i?
Tatiana Acevedo yes 🙂
So I tried the coupon code and it only took off 1 penny vs. 5%? 🤔
Hmm that is very very strange. I am going to pass this onto my contact at KEH, I'll give you an update once they reply!
Thanks! I did notice that the code said something like, “items in your cart are not eligible for this code.”
so I wrote my contact at KEH and she said the code is working but that you can contact her directly bc she will be able to help more than i can! csmith@keh.com
Thanks, Jessica! 😊
Can I use this on my canon 70d
Yes, but keep in mind 1.6x crop factor of aps-c sensor.
35mm * 1.6 = 56mm
F/1.4 * 1.6 = F 2.24 ( depth of field )
But it remains bright like 1.4
And another question is how your camera handle this modern lens.
___________

Jake Moody wow thank you so much
