Guys, I can’t thank you enough for helping me get through the pandemic. Your show is better than regular interviews. It’s like the best guitar store chats but with real deal professional musicians and music gear designers... and with beer. Pure awesomeness. Keep doing what your doing. Much love from Kingston Ontario!
At 1:15:20-ish....someone (Rockstar Prepper) asks about how hard you need to push an amp (BE 100 Deluxe) to get good tone when micing the cab. As Dave indicated, you need to push the speaker. Now the answer of "how hard" is a little vague, so I'll chime in here..... EVERY speaker will have a spec (in the old days of Hi-Fi and AUDIO and AUDIO REVIEW magazines back in the 80s). It will usually show, say 5-100 watts. What that minimum wattage would mean on the spec sheet is that at low volume and wattage, you don't get the Full frequency response out of the speaker and it is only in that range and that there is a MINIMUM wattage needed to get the full range of the speaker! In the above example, the minimum wattage would be 5 watts and typically the spec sheet would say example, 50Hz-15kHz +/-3dB. So, at say 1 watt or bedroom or whisper volumes, it may be only 100Hz to 10kHz +/-6dB!! Meaning, again, you need at LEAST that minimum wattage/volume. This depends on the spec of your speakers and provided by your speaker manufacturer. But off the cuff...you'd probably need to run the BE-100 Deluxe at "1.5" or "2" on the master, or more! Hope this helps!!
Pretty cool Dave picked up Michael landau's serial number 13 SLO soldano, likewise I picked up his 1972 Park 75 not so much that it was his but that it was just clean as a whistle. Dave is a treasure
Great show and I was laughing listening to Gilby talk. All those years away from Cleveland and still has a bit of the accent. Him and Mike Zaite in the same room would be a riot.
if anyone ever says "B.B King only played 3 Notes" one more time i will loose it... B.B. could play fairly Sophisticated over the Changes if he choose to, and it is well documented in his vast output of recordings. Sorry, had to point that out. ;) Great Show and a chill and fantastic Guest....
Thats a Great Analogy From Dave, as far as modelers go because i get exactly where he's coming from. "Its Too loud, Wait~Its To quiet, Ok now its to loud~Now its too quiet"
My band did a show with Gilby at the long gone Coconut Teaszer and he had the best comeback. The sound man said “Can you turn your amp down?” (big shock) and Gilby said “That’s the funny thing about this amp. It doesn’t turn down”. Classic. 🤣
How the F have I missed this channel? This was a really cool interview. Gilby seems like a really nice, down to earth guy. Unfortunately I can’t afford to support his bike business so he’ll just have to settle for me buying his new album. 😎👍🏻
Thanks for the show David, Marc, and Gilby! I love the Sweetwater Fireballs too! Didn’t care for the banana toffee though. Could never tell if the wrapper is totally off because of the matching colour 😂 Have a good weekend guys! Stay safe :)
Same here man lol. Love the look and sound, but I feel my playing takes a major dip on a Paul. Never felt comfortable with the neck to body angle and the bridge feeling so high off the body.

I love the two different guitar thing left and right. Would dig to see Gilbys studio setup.

I still listen to Kill for Thrills regularly, fantastic lp
What a cool guest this week great show 👍👍👏👏
Great episode!
Got my first shot. Second will be 4 days before leaving for tour. Hopefully any side effects will subside before I leave. 😄
Super interesting guy, very down to earth. As usual, this is the best livestream on the webs!
Wow, thanks!
What a cool dude. Saw him with Guns and Snakepit. Good internet , ha! Great ep! Cheers Marc + Dave.

Thanks for watching!
For the life of me, I can't figure out why this isn't the #1 music talk show on RUclips. It definitely has the best info.
Dave u are da man!!
Kings of Chaos. Nobody known in that group. Hahaha. Sounds awesome!!
Great show! Has Jerry Cantrell ever been on?
Thanks! Not yet but we hope he comes on.
Magic doesn't flow through digital. Magic is analog.
I love how a Les Paul looks and sounds but I don’t like playing them. Very uncomfortable to me. Super Strats all day.

Hey people got vaccinations for polio and that worked.
