I loved this conversation. Jordan is very inspiring with his incredible playing and tone. Too many sound men suck these days. I'm so glad that most of my gigs are too lowly to have a soundman

Dave and Mark: I came across ToneTalk a few weeks ago and have been watching every episode. I have learned so much valuable technical information that it is ridiculous. Thank you for doing this. FUCKIN' AWESOME. In addition I think when you give the music community like this, we are really more inclined to but your products. We knew they were well designed and built, but now we know you as people. .. and I think that does matters.

I've done hundreds maybe thousands of shows as a guitarist since the '90s - the amount of times I've walked offstage and people from the crowd said they couldn't hear me is countless. You're totally right about sound engineers and their seeming hatred of guitars. It's the same here in the UK. I remember getting offstage once, hearing how bad it was, and approaching the sound engineer - I said "what's the point of me playing if no one can hear me?", and he accused me of being a prima donna. We were a two-guitar band so he'd turned us both down even less. Ridiculous.
Done a lot of shows as a bassist in the last decade and never once had this problem.

Played an early EVH with the thin frets at guitar center in Hollywood. Surprised to find it rang out and played amazing. Pinch harmonics on it were crazy

The thing about string gauge and picks is it is so subjective. I recently tried 8-38 strings on a 24.75" scale almost as a joke, just to try, and...I loved it! They sounded fine, didn't go out of tune after stretching in, and I could play really any style on them. I have different gauges, different scales, different picks, pickups, etc. on all different guitars - all depends what vibe I'm wanting out of that guitar. I guess it helps that I have 40 guitars, lol 🎸

Jordan’s a badass! I did a few dates as a guitar tech with Trixter (a friend was filling in for Steve Brown) and he was playing with their singer at the time in Arizona and he couldn’t say enough good things about him! Seems like a dude I’d love to hang with!

I am with Dave with the '50s Strat "V" Neck. Two of my Strats have them, and the other Strat has that Baseball Bat Robert Cray Neck. I also like a medium high action, a Vintage to 9.5" Radius, and my Tele Necks tend to be chunky too, but I am old.

From the live videos I have seen on RUclips, Jordan plays Warren's guitar parts just about seamlessly. However, I do wish he would at least make it look a little bit of a challenge. He generally just stands there and nails it.

7:55 in Jordan talks about starting out playing easy Pop Punk stuff like Sum 41 and Blink 182. That makes me so happy that he said that because their are so many idiots on RUclips that play this with stuff blaring in the background while they play over top of it while their viewer praise the greatness of their playing. Nothing but strumming to 1 finger bar chords. There are a couple of girls that do this and its hilarious because the dudes are full of compliments for some reason.

Hello everyone, another great episode!! I have one question and I don't mean anything bad by asking, I just want to know if there is any particular reason why the show ends around 2:30 hours mark, when there are no more questions...it's because every guest warms up, and the show becomes really interesting, and we hear: "no more questions,I guess it's time to wrap up" why is that?! Thanks, best gear show on the internet, I am a huge fan!
    Thanks for everything
    Cheers

"DAVID" are we in high School ? Why would you go after this young kid about his boss? What? try to get him to talk on line for everybody to see and say things about his "Boss" that would be cool for entertainment but hurt his gig?
    Why would you do that?
The guy is a "kid" why put him in that position? you and I are in our 50's ... you know what you are doing when you ask him about that kind of shit...... P.S.
