As a guy who wasn't a huge fan of AC/DC, but never thought their music sucked I gotta say Angus is no doubt an iconic guitar player. I guess radio killed their music for me.
I admire Brian Johnson so much for stepping into a tragic situation and fitting in right away, and I admire the band for making him feel welcome. AC/DC are not just great rockers, but they are great people, too. Love these guys.
Angus has always been quiet and introspective.. Hes actually really artsy fartsy type besides his guitar he does these awesome pencil sketchings.. Everyone who meets him says same thing.. hes nice, approachable and (basically) zero ego!. He is such an awesome dude and a total gent at same time.
How can't you love these guys? With all their massive success over four decades they still come across as down-to-earth normal blokes who love what they're doing. Long Live AC/DC!
I’ve been a casual fan and enjoyed their music for 40 years but the last few weeks I’ve been deep diving their catalog and watching interviews and getting to know their story ….unbelievable how awesome these guys are. I can’t get tired of watching the interviews even..not pretentious in the least.
These two are very genuine people, proper well mannered guys who never forgot their roots, hard to find in the vacuous fake world of rock n roll , nice guys
It doesn't matter if it's Brian or Bon. It is a moot argument. What it is the ONLY important thing to any AC/DC fan is that the band recovered from the death of their lead singer and didn't decide to split and end it all. That with both singers the band has continued to rock the planet for decades now, not starting to mass produce senseless ballads but to stay true to their own sound and style. That they are still, at just under and over 60 yrs of age able to rock stadiums and be one of the greatest live bands ever. Anything else is trivial.
If it wasn't for Brian Johnson, AC/DC would've ended and there wouldn't be any more awesome albums like Back In Black, For Those About To Rock, The Razor's Edge, Flick Of The Switch, Black Ice
Stop comparing the two Jesus... they're both very gifted singers and have the band a good voice. Bon had to depart earlier and we all love him and his voice. Brian was a good replacement and has acknowledged bon as an integral part of this bands history. Let Bon Rest In Peace Jesus..
Saw ac/dc, cheap trick and kiss in the same night in Seattle in 1978. They put angus on Bon's shoulders and walked him thru the audience while he played guitar.
It's amazing to see how humble they are. And unlike lots of other bands, they're not greedy, money, stats or fame isnt why they keep playing it seems, just the fans and the the fact they still love to do it!
Have already commented on other videos of AC/DC and I would like share my experience with them. In 1982 they played the old Glasgow Apollo theatre on the tour dubbed the "Cannon and Bell tour" due to the fact that it was just after the album release of 'For those about to Rock'. Well I was fortunate to see the three sell out shows due to knowing someone who worked at the theatre and after the show on the first night I met them at their hotel just across from where I live in the city centre. On the last day (Sunday),myself and four others who were waiting outside the hotel were invited inside to meet with them and they had just sat down to eat and Brian Johnson invited the five of us to join them for dinner. So my claim to fame is having dinner with AC/DC.They are the most down to earth guys who are funny and generous of their time. Even Phil Rudd was cool regardless of what you read about him. What you see in these interviews with them that is what you get, solid, good natured and generous guys who have time for their fans.
My claim to fame goes to back to Feb 11th, 12th, 13th & 14th 1988 with their Blow up your Video World Tour Sydney Australia. I won a competition organised by their record Company. I spent 4 days with them. The first song of the concerts was Who made Who. The Band had 10 `Angus clones` for each show & I was lucky enough to be one of them. So I spent those 4 afternoons backstage at the Sydney Entertainment Centre with them before each show. Had dinner with them each night. Angus made me a chocolate milkshake & the odd cup of tea. Drank Coca cola with Simon. Played cards with Cliff & Malcolm. Cliff even wrote a `love letter` to my girlfriend at the time for me :) Sang Hells Bells with Brian as he warmed up. Best 4 days / nights of my life. Wish I could do it all again
The thing I love about Brian is that he makes me feel like I've been friends with him for years, even though I haven't met him. I feel like I'm having a conversation with him when I watch stuff like this even though I've never been able to say anything to him. He always puts a smile on my face and makes me happy, ever since I first got into AC/DC before I could walk. thank you Brian. You've inspired me as a 17 year old to pick up my guitar, microphone, drums and bass and give it my best shot to make more rock n roll in the world.
This is why AC/DC are amazing! Badass rockers on stage and genuine down to earth men off stage ! They are truly the best band ever in my book! I have a great size AC/DC collection, cds, t shirts, necklaces, a few keychains , guitar pics a Epiphone SG with an Angus truss rod cover. And a few movies. Both live cd sets, and more! Gonna be adding more soon as I find stuff I like! I seen online an AC/DC back in black edition clock! I have two lighters butane and one regular zippo. A few car decals with AC/DC on them. Angus cut out! He’s my hero! Like they all are! I put the cut out behind my bed, I got a pillow case and tons more!!!!! I even have The Rolling Stones tote bag that AC/DC are on! I really cannot wait for them to start touring again. I was hoping they would announce the tour dates yesterday. But I only see two of them up so far. And they are both in England. But fuck my collection is so big I can’t remember all of it right off. Let me just say it would not fit in one tote it would fit into probably a room lol.
These guys are so real, so genuine and so open. When they sit and talk, and share with us you can see that they are still in touch with their fans and themselves. The awesome responsibility of being the greatest band on Earth has not turned them into egomaniacs. They remain just folks with a talent beyond belief. Thank God for AC/DC!
They're starting to look old.. But you know what? That's why they are so great! A bunch of elderly guys rockin' hard like they are 20 years old! That's the magic of Rock ´n' Roll!
Starting to look old? How the hell old are you? So do you think they should go get plasticized so they don't look "old" to YOU? jfc. Do you ever think before you type/speak? Reread? Try it before you send your insults.
Hey I love you Guys!! I'm 47 Years old and AC/DC has been a staple in my life from pretty much the beginning. Through the Low times (Boy there have been some low times to a time of wanting to take my own life low) to bring me back to life. To the great times to when your music took me even higher!!! Thanks for a life time of Rock and Roll!!!!!!
If you sat a 10 year old kid down and showed them this interview and told them that these two guys are a couple of the greatest rockers in history, they'd never believe you. Such genuine blokes
Angus is a completely different person when he's on stage, I've said it before, he's the Freddie Mercury of guitarists imo. He knows how to work the crowd. Legend.
Craig Brainimpact While being born in Scotland, he considers himself to be Australian and Sydney his true home.... he lived there from the age of 7 right up until his mid 20s. He married a Dutch girl in 1980, and has resided in Holland, since the age of 25, until present. So if we're getting pedantic, he's actually more Dutch than anything else lol.
+Mox_au In Australia there is a lot of pressure to be Australian esp if you`re famous , as there as so few Australians of world renown. Back in the 80s I lived there and they amongst others came in for a lot of bad press because they didnt have Aussie citizenship. They just kept the Brit passport. So on the quiet I think they are Scots first. Think one of the other celeb who got dragged in was Jimmy Barnes, another Scot.
+housecarl6 Angus has stated himself that he considers himself Australian. He left Scotland at age 7, and has never returned. Also Jimmy Barnes's family immigrated when he was five. He's had 54 years in Australia, so I'd be very surprised if he didn't consider himself an Aussie lol. But yeah, the whole 'pressure to be Aussie' thing is a joke.
Mox_au I have heard Angus say (albeit reluctantly )when asked if he was an Aussie ,",no one else would have us " hardly a ringing endorsement. As for Jimmy barnes whats the time spent in Oz got to do with anything ? Rolf Harris as lived in the UK for 60 years he still considers himself an Aussie.
I love these guys, love the music, love the shows they put on, but most of all I love that they are genuine blokes that are approachable, love what they do, love their fans and are still doing it all these years down the line! fingers crossed for a new album and new tour!
Great interview. After all these years...they still get along & are still friends. They just love playing the music. & We still love listening. Isn't that what it is all about? I think alot of other bands are too busy fighting, because either they have overly inflated egos or it has become just about the money. Sadly.
These guys always have been and always will be cool. Some of the most non-egotistical and honest people in music. Been rockin out to them since I can remember, and I think now I will put on Fly on the wall, good stuff there. Rock on guys.
Is there anything better than the beginning of an AC/DC song?!??!?! Seriously, instant chills, instant energy, instantly recognizable. Plus, the hand goes straight to the volume knob to crank it up.
Great questions! I will never forget being twelve and hearing Back In Black when it first came out, listening with my brothers on a scratchy little radio. Priceless memories!
Stop this war beetween Brian and Bon..These two singers are just...a fuckin good rock nroll singers..and ACDC IS JUST..The only real band of rock n roll...The best of the world...That's all !
We will never see another band with the lasting power like these guys. They made great music with Scott and loved him like a brother, then they take in Brian with the same type of respect and love and he reciprocated all of it back. I'm amazed at how awesome these guys are in interviews. They are super human yet so grounded humble, and fun. My dad listened to them, then me, now my sons. Thank you AC/DC
what a delight. Its hard to believe just seeing these lovely down to earth warm guys, that they are in fact, along with jagger and keith richards probably the 2 biggest rockers left alive. God bless acdc
Angus is a true guitar legend and as for Brian, fantastic rock vocalist and one of the nicest and most down to earth guys in the business. Legends the pair of them.
i like it when bands aren't pressured or rushed to get in the studio. when they are relaxed and on a fun path. the music always comes out better and an album that is worth getting.
Every time they laugh together my heart just melts, seriously. This is what real friendship looks like, no ego, no bullshit. Makes me think of Lethal Weapon, same thing.
Great interview. Love these guys, love the band 🤘 Absolute legends. Without doubt the best gig I ever saw, MEN Arena. Blew the roof off the place! 2 & 3/4 hour set. The train, the cannons, inflatable Rosie dropping down from the rafters. Angus running around like a 17 year old. Consummate professionals.
These guys pumped a lot of heavy albums during the 70's and 80's. I'm amazed they are still playing. I can't believe Angus isn't completely crippled by his head banging back then. Luckily, I go to see them on "Back in Black" tour. Angus was intense. He was much different the next time I saw them on the "Blow up Your Video" tour. I had the tape, but didn't like it much until I saw the show. Angus may have slowed with age, but he never missed a beat. I fell in love with that tape after the show.
I think AC/DC is a world treasure .all these guys are laid back and easy going. They have made some of the best rock n roll not to mention doing things for charity
Cudos, it is the fans that recognise, respect & love the band. Who care of the rest. They have nothing to prove. They are one of the best & beloved acts ever.
I am only 17 and my dad took me to the Black Ice concert in Charlotte. Best concert I have ever been to!!! I hope they aren't finished making music, it would be truly depressing not to hear anymore of this unique vibe that AC/DC puts off
I would love to see a Major Guitar leaning course featuring Angus and Malcolm Young. They really know how to create great Guitar songs for their band. RH DSD
Love the chemistry between the interviewer and the guys. Angus is probably top 3 guitarists of all time and a great personality to match! Love these guys and cant wait for the new album!!!!
I love acdc and would love to meet them awesome group. Also my 3 favourite guitarists ever are scotty Moore, Angus Young, and Brian May, not bad line up ,
I saw an interview where Angus said, "when we came to town they use to say lock up your daughters. Now we're so old they say lock up your grannies!"

Glad to see Brian back thank God
I think AC/DC is a world treasure .all these guys are laid back and easy going. They have made some of the best rock n roll not to mention doing things for charity
My favorite Rock 'N' Roll band ever
Cudos, it is the fans that recognise, respect & love the band. Who care of the rest. They have nothing to prove. They are one of the best & beloved acts ever.
These guys are legendary. Angus is one the most ionic guitar players to ever live
I am only 17 and my dad took me to the Black Ice concert in Charlotte. Best concert I have ever been to!!! I hope they aren't finished making music, it would be truly depressing not to hear anymore of this unique vibe that AC/DC puts off
angus has still got the same sense of humor just like back then

I would love to see a Major Guitar leaning course featuring Angus and Malcolm Young. They really know how to create great Guitar songs for their band. RH DSD
Love the chemistry between the interviewer and the guys. Angus is probably top 3 guitarists of all time and a great personality to match! Love these guys and cant wait for the new album!!!!
BEST BAND IN THE UNIVERSE FOREVER
They love and appreciate their fans and vice versa. Its perfect balance.
That's the equation.
