so having the phone of a dead person that was last seen by you, is not questionable?
It is, but it's not "Beyond a reasonable doubt" questionable. Like the DA said they only get one bite at the apple, it has to be a good hearty bite or he walks.
Of course it's "questionable," it just doesn't explain how you came to be in possession of it. Even an innocent person could have a dead person's phone. They need evidence that the holder of the phone had some part in her disappearance or knows of it. A killer could hand a phone off or just put it somewhere to be recovered w/o telling anyone that they put it there.

Jermaine did not seem too brilliant either. A mother out in an alley with a group of guys after midnight, nothing good is going to come out of that.
@@audreyhuggins8822 Stop victim blaming.
@@chpslifeshe didn’t victim blame. She stated a fact. It’s a fact that if a mother of two children is at home sleeping during the hour when they say nothing good happens, there’s a much higher chance she she’d be waking up with her kids. If the ex killed her and she had the typical mom schedule, where was known to be at home or sleeping, there’s no way he could just say she disappeared from her house. Neighbors, friends, family and number of possible eye witness reduces to zero in the middle of the night.
The truth on how to make better choices to protect oneself and not increase the chance for victimization is not victim blaming.
Victim blaming would be if she said “she brought this all upon herself. If she didn’t go with him then she wouldn’t have gotten killed.”
@@missmel3466 They literally said in the video that the father of the children gained custody. She had visits with them. Maybe you have to rewatch the video.
The video of her outside the bars tells me she didn’t want to be with him. Like he’s tagging alone. But she’s walking in front, talking to other men for minutes before introducing him, somewhat ignoring him. It’s your “together”, you talk to people standing next to each other. This wasn’t the case.
She outgrew him, wanted to go away and study, recognized the home life can be very unfulfilling. Plus, he was abusive.
With all the latest technology, forensic, dna, surveillance cameras, cell phone print,. No suspects for 6 years... Amazing
I just thought the same thing! Pathetic!😢
And he still has custody of the children? Does anyone know?
The problem is, it's wild country, lots and lots of space, there's not much cctv coverage, nothing was recovered of hers to get dna from, people don't drive the sort of computerised cars that helped undo Mardough. No body, no cause of death, and this influences the warrants you can get. Lot's and privately owned land, which cannot be searched without pc, and even when it gets searched it's endless expanse. The shows we watch feature cases with impressive forensics, because those are interesting, but majority of cases are like this. Worse off here, with the budgetary constrains, insane case load, and structural racism.
His truck would have a gps tracker
This case is pure BS. Michael has a history of abusing her, he was the last one to see her alive, he threw her phone away the day she disappeared, she was AFRAID of him, she was walking ahead of him clearly trying to avoid the guy on those images... and he is not even considered a suspect??? Like wtf? These cops must be out of their minds.

Exactly! The simple fact that he is out and about and not in prison for the possession of firearms conviction is equally appalling.
He IS the person of interest, when it’s an active case they aren’t able to divulge ALL the info.
its almost definitely because shes indigenous, police love to drag their feet on investigating indigenous and black women's disappearances
They knew of his DV history, yet he wasn’t a suspect?!
He IS a suspect. But they cannot convict him because they don't have enough concrete evidence to tie him to her disappearnce, beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutions cannot convict based on conjecture. The judge will throw out the case and the culprit will go free. The most important evidence is the body, which they haven't found yet. Another important piece of evidence is her phone, which they also haven't found.

Young ladies, never go into a bar alone. A lot of bad men go to bars and if they see a young lady alone they see her as vulnerable, unprotected, easy prey. Also, if a group of young ladies go somewhere together, NEVER leave without any member of your group, all go home together, leave no-one behind, let no-one leave with a guy. If she likes him, get his phone number and phone him tomorrow. On the first few dates, always meet in a public place like a coffee-house, restaurant, art gallery, theatre, until you get to know him better, and still be wary. There are too many predators out there, too many women and children "going missing."
Most women and children are killed by someone they know not strangers.
She was obviously killed.by her ex.
You’re more likely to be attacked/murdered by someone you know. And this woman, Jermaine, was clearly murdered by her ex.
Hellooo!! Did you watch the video? She left with someone she KNEW. He was NOT a stranger. He was NOT a predator. He was her EX, the FATHER of her children. Everything points to her ex, Michael. He was abusive to her, heated custody battle, she had stated he was yelling at her the day before she went missing, he wanted her back and didn’t want her with anyone else, he was the last person to see her, he stated that he dropped her off at a grocery store at 1am, her phone pinged close to Michael’s home and then he altered his story to say he had her phone… His character shows an abusive man that needed to control her. Just a thought…could he have followed Jermaine to her “friends” house (Jacob’s)? Could Michael have discovered that Jermaine was seeing another man and then flew into a rage? Could Jacob’s phone call been seen by Michael, adding to that rage? I dunno….just thoughts. I’m sure authorities have thought through a bazillion scenarios. I hope Jermaine gets the justice she deserves.

I'm a Missoula resident. I can't help but think if the first Detective that was assigned to her case in that first 48 hours actually did something, would her family have more answers? could there have been more evidence? or better yet, was she still alive? Its briefly mentioned, but the first detective assigned to her case greatly lowered the chances of finding Jermain due to his lack of errancy. He stated he was on vacation or just coming back from vacation at the time and didn't feel her life was in immediate danger. He later gave the case to Guy Baker, the current detective on the case. Whoever was the first detective assigned to this case should be ashamed of themselves. You’re right about that 100% and it cost her her life. 28 years old two kids that’s a recipe for disaster, especially who she had the kids with I mean, is he even Indian or is he a relative of
Colonel Custer ?
An attractive young lady, out at night at a bar, single, and picking up men. What could go wrong?
As much as I am happy 48 hours is finally covering this, they are also part of the problem. All you have to do is scroll through the previous episodes and it becomes starkly clear.
New Mexico included indigenous people go missing more than we know even men.
Two kids from a part time dad. She should have been home taking care of them. I know people will cry about this. But if she had been doing that, she'd still be alive and HOME.
What a beautiful woman. Why is domestic violence still so prevalent among native peoples (genuine question - im in ireland and a dm survivor myself). Who is raising those boys and have her family access to them
Study history, ancestral trauma, learned helplessness and hopelessness, study alcoholism and depression.
@@motheryuba57 i understand all that. Irish history isnt pretty.... however i made a conscious decision and never touched alcohol nor drugs.
Going to bars especially alone at night is not safe. If you don’t want hook ups and just want to drink, just buy alcohol and drink at the comfort of your home.
How is that relevant? The most suspicious person is her ex who had access to her everywhere
What 48 hrs. were you watching❓️ Jermaine didn't go to the bar alone. She went with her X. She left with him. Clearly, he killed her. Jermaine didn't just disappear. He claims he dropped her off at that convenience store. Did the cops check surveillance video or the clerk that was working there since he said he dropped her off at around 1am. And why would you drop off the mother of your kids at 1am alone at a convenience store❓️ He got "ride" off her phone, and the phone was never found...
Sad, but the reservations are like the hoods. You have to get out or demand better from your local tribal leadership. People go missing and die all the time in these areas.
He did it 🤦🏾♀️
Where are her parents?
It's pretty obvious who is responsible for her disappearance. Sending prayers!
It’s so sad that we still don’t seem to pinpoint and focus on the dangerous behaviors and habits of so many mm women. Bar hopping and “socializing” is all too often a scenario that leads to danger and harm.
Lock Michael up!! He was jealous that his baby mama was moving on…
Domestic violence must be stopped
Zero Tolerance
Don’t let it escalate
Tell that to WOMEN who stay
You are so right. With me I knew it was escalating. I made it clear that I would not tolerate it. My heart breaks for anyone who is caught in it.
We are NOT asking for pity, handouts or anything else. We are asking for someone to hear the voice of the people.❤
Prayers for her children and family. It's quite evident the husband did this. He should be prosecuted
Husband? Bahaaa
She was very narcissistic. Everything was about her. She didn't much care about anybody else.
You didn’t even know her
@@pinkdollangel yes I do.
This isn’t an indigenous woman problem…it’s an international problem that transcends culture. It’s domestic violence. Period. The police reacted just like we see with many missing persons when the missing is an adult who could have just left voluntarily.
It’s both
