Of course it's "questionable," it just doesn't explain how you came to be in possession of it. Even an innocent person could have a dead person's phone. They need evidence that the holder of the phone had some part in her disappearance or knows of it. A killer could hand a phone off or just put it somewhere to be recovered w/o telling anyone that they put it there.

It’s a fact that if a mother of two children is at home sleeping during the hour when they say nothing good happens, there’s a much higher chance she she’d be waking up with her kids. If the ex killed her and she had the typical mom schedule, where was known to be at home or sleeping, there’s no way he could just say she disappeared from her house. Neighbors, friends, family and number of possible eye witness reduces to zero in the middle of the night.
The truth on how to make better choices to protect oneself and not increase the chance for victimization is not victim blaming.

No body, no cause of death, and this influences the warrants you can get. Lot's and privately owned land, which cannot be searched without pc, and even when it gets searched it's endless expanse. Young ladies, never go into a bar alone. A lot of bad men go to bars and if they see a young lady alone they see her as vulnerable, unprotected, easy prey. Also, if a group of young ladies go somewhere together, NEVER leave without any member of your group, all go home together, leave no-one behind, let no-one leave with a guy. If she likes him, get his phone number and phone him tomorrow. On the first few dates, always meet in a public place like a coffee-house, restaurant, art gallery, theatre, until you get to know him better, and still be wary. There are too many predators out there, too many women and children "going missing."

He was abusive to her, heated custody battle, she had stated he was yelling at her the day before she went missing, he wanted her back and didn’t want her with anyone else, he was the last person to see her, he stated that he dropped her off at a grocery store at 1am, her phone pinged close to Michael’s home and then he altered his story to say he had her phone… His character shows an abusive man that needed to control her. Just a thought…could he have followed Jermaine to her “friends” house (Jacob’s)? Could Michael have discovered that Jermaine was seeing another man and then flew into a rage? Could Jacob’s phone call been seen by Michael, adding to that rage? I dunno….just thoughts. I’m sure authorities have thought through a bazillion scenarios. I can't help but think if the first Detective that was assigned to her case in that first 48 hours actually did something, would her family have more answers? could there have been more evidence? or better yet, was she still alive? Its briefly mentioned, but the first detective assigned to her case greatly lowered the chances of finding Jermain due to his lack of errancy. He stated he was on vacation or just coming back from vacation at the time and didn't feel her life was in immediate danger. He later gave the case to Guy Baker, the current detective on the case. Whoever was the first detective assigned to this case should be ashamed of themselves. I truly believe she would have been found if it hadn't been for the lack of errancy by Missoula Police Department.

You’re right about that 100% and it cost her her life. 28 years old two kids that’s a recipe for disaster, especially who she had the kids with I mean, is he even Indian or is he a relative of
      Colonel Custer ?

As much as I am happy 48 hours is finally covering this, they are also part of the problem. All you have to do is scroll through the previous episodes and it becomes starkly clear.

Two kids from a part time dad. She should have been home taking care of them. I know people will cry about this. But if she had been doing that, she'd still be alive and HOME.

What a beautiful woman. Why is domestic violence still so prevalent among native peoples (genuine question - im in ireland and a dm survivor myself). Who is raising those boys and have her family access to them

Going to bars especially alone at night is not safe. If you don’t want hook ups and just want to drink, just buy alcohol and drink at the comfort of your home.

What 48 hrs. were you watching❓️ Jermaine didn't go to the bar alone. She went with her X. She left with him. Clearly, he killed her. Jermaine didn't just disappear. He claims he dropped her off at that convenience store. Did the cops check surveillance video or the clerk that was working there since he said he dropped her off at around 1am. And why would you drop off the mother of your kids at 1am alone at a convenience store❓️ He got "ride" off her phone, and the phone was never found...

Sad, but the reservations are like the hoods. You have to get out or demand better from your local tribal leadership. People go missing and die all the time in these areas.

It’s so sad that we still don’t seem to pinpoint and focus on the dangerous behaviors and habits of so many mm women. Bar hopping and “socializing” is all too often a scenario that leads to danger and harm.

This isn’t an indigenous woman problem…it’s an international problem that transcends culture. It’s domestic violence. Period. The police reacted just like we see with many missing persons when the missing is an adult who could have just left voluntarily.
