@16:22 love how it transitions into this to the near the end of the sequence. That’s a very nice arp/delay, very relaxing and it’s sweet how the patch changes adds effects to the space sequence as well, instead of sounding like you’re changing patch’s it blends in so nicely.
This is so good This should be on a record. I was just listening to this today as well as your OB6 loop jam like they were album cuts. And they both are worth being proper releases
Sounds really great and I'm pleased that this was not a demo. There's already like 345,234,564 demos of this synth. Lets hear some music for a change. Lovely soundscapes. I'm inspired (**sounds of me running home to hook my Minilogue up to my Flashback Delay, Echoshifter and Eventide Space....)
Thanks, I've been looking forward to hearing someone do something besides scratchy-sounding demos with this synth. This is showing some real promise. Always enjoy your performances.
Awesome. Thx for taking the time to share it. It's funny, watching your videos helps reinforce in my mind the thinking I had that got me into this a couple years ago. That is how the keyboard on synths for music like this, is really just a data entry tool. Like a knob or fader. So it makes you wonder if they designed synths now, but they were unaware of pianos or other keyboard instruments, what kind on interface they would develop. Obviously it's not a unique thought as serge and Buchla were there too. Linnstrument is interesting too. Just wish there was an equivilant pure synth drum that had cool multiparameter modulation capabilities. :)
Some people argue that the keyboard as a input device for a synthesizer has been a huge detriment because it forces people to play an instrument in a certain way that doesn't take advantage of that instruments capabilities.
It sounds very nice, you know how to use the synth and the fx, some parts of this impro remember me the Jon Anderson's album "Olias of Sunhillow". thanks and regards from Buenos Aires.
Hi Daniel. I was brought to your page from a post you made years ago about being able to record audio directly into the the Zoom Q4 video camera. Was this audio recorded directly in to the zoom also? Very great sounds/video by the way. Love it. Thanks
Thanks for another great video Daniel! Your channel really has me on the fence over DSI synths & was the final convincing I needed for the Strymon. Are you still enjoying the P12? Do you think a used P'08 is worthwhile or recommend waiting for the REV2 8 voice? Thanks Again!
I still like the P12, a lot. As a matter of fact, I'm getting closer and closer to selling everything except for the P12 and Minilogue. Over the years I've acquired way too much stuff, and hardly any of it really helps me make music. I think a used P08 is totally worth it. I'm sure the prices will be coming down. I like the P08 quite a bit. The sequencer really makes it stand out.
Jesus H Christ. This is not a fucking demo for the Minilogue. It's a fully produced performance. The only thing that matters is the final music. The cost of the gear is entirely irrelevant. Next time I'll be sure to use a synth that costs twice as much as the pedals.
Thank you. Hmm i see. I hate menu diving. This specific thing i like on the Bluesky. Lo-Hi immediately visible and accessible. But of course the Big sky has many things more for sound design... Am between Bigsky, Bluesky, Eventide Space, Empress Reverb and can`t decide. All of them are amazing.
Truly amazing. I have a Dig and an Eventide H9, and an Infinity, and my minilogue is coming, in two days. This is exacty the kind of thing I want to d What patches are you using on the ML, and are you using loop aging on the Infinity?
I am wondering how to hook up pedals to my synth? Cant find much on the web, and it looks like its a little more complicated then with a guitar (seeing all the cables that are being used) I have a minilogue and a focusrite 2i4.. would be much appreciated!
Great sounds, man!! One day I'll do anything close to that. I see that you managed to get some hands on the DSI OB6... Might be silly, but how do you compare the Minilogue with the beast that is the OB6? Are they even comparable? I mean, they ARE polyphonic VCO-based synths, right...
I actually like the Minilogue more than OB6. I'm sure the price has a lot to do with it. For the price of the OB6, I'd much rather have a Prophet 8 or Prophet 12.
how do you get continuos sound if looper is post efx? I'm not a le to use this work flow without having some problems in continuity and so the looper is pre efx....
+Tom Hawkins So long that I've never come close to running out of time. I think the base model can do an hour of looping, and it's super easy to add more memory.
The ML is thin, noisy poop compared to the OB6, and your loop video with the OB6 is the perfect example of that IMO. Glad you like what you have, but I could listen to your OB6 work all night. This ML stuff is well composed, but the actual qualities of the sound just lack the depth and dimension that the OB6 has. The ML gives lots of movement, but it's shallow and ultimately leaves me wanting more. The OB6 gives me that more from the first note.
This is pretty common because they both came out this year and have been at the top of the hype heap. But I agree, if you spend 4-5x as much, you should expect it to be better.
Nice sounds 👍☝️
Thanks for posting this. Like sinking in a warm bath after this long crazy weekend. Really hits the spot.
So beautifully done!
+Genshi Media Group Thank you.
Talent + Nice amount of new synth related stuff produced + RUclips = High potential of eargasms!!! Very well done! Tons of talent!
+Sleepydog dude don't say eargasm
+david esktorp say earsgasmistic instead!!
Unbelievable that this machine does so much and sounds so great with the BigSky and other effects... Great stuff!
All night making music, 7 am now, listening to this and winding down to finally sleep. great video/ audio.
I love this, you've convinced me to get back into synths again
I'm sorry! :)
Glad to see your videos on RUclips. Keep going man.
@16:22 love how it transitions into this to the near the end of the sequence. That’s a very nice arp/delay, very relaxing and it’s sweet how the patch changes adds effects to the space sequence as well, instead of sounding like you’re changing patch’s it blends in so nicely.
This is the best use of the Monologue I've heard to date. Nice job sir.
Thank you.
Awesome! Sounds lovely, I could listen to this forever!
Fantastic moment captured here.
Wow man, your ambient creations are otherworldly. Love all of your videos and gear as well! Keep it up!
+Roman Chamomile Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful, can't wait until the music store gets their stock in :)
This is so good
This should be on a record.

Thanks! Got lots of albums available if you want to hear more.

Really nice ! I think i need a Big Sky too :). Sounds are so beautiful, thank's for this video
good stuff, bit of vangellis and the drones/horns from war of the worlds :)
Very nicely done! I'm liking the Minilogue more and more...
This piece really takes me places. Bravo!
Wow...really beautiful...the loops are especially haunting..loved it.!!!
This is taking my imagination to different places and sceneries. Excellent!
+Andrew Megano right on, thanks for listening.
Sounds fun!
dont know how i ended up at this video but this is so amazing. looking forward to getting my own minilogue soon :)
beautiful sounds ... very dreamy and enjoyable!
So beautiful melodies
Thanks
Stumbled on you while deciding between the ehx 45000 and the infinity to pair with my synth, and found a great track nice one
Wait, but Strymon has looper functionality in Timeline, no? How does it compare?
love this sound I'm glad the minilogue is capable of this not just buzzy harsh sounds very vangelis :)))
This is awesome! Great job!
wow! BEAUTASTIC sounds :)
Excellent track, very beautiful! :-)

Awesome performance, sounds amazing!
I was imagining that the Dig would be a great choice with the Minilogue and you certainly confirmed this. Lovely sound design and composition.
+asynchronicity They really do sound great together.
Very well done. Sounds very spacey
Superb! Thanks for sharing
Inspiring as always. Keep doing what you do, man.
+Phil Mason Thank you.
Great. Really well done.
It sounds very nice, you know how to use the synth and the fx, some parts of this impro remember me the Jon Anderson's album "Olias of Sunhillow". thanks and regards from Buenos Aires.
+Ariel Raguet Thanks. Never heard "Olias of Sunhillow" but I'll look for it.
This is incredible!
Love these vibes man!
Thanks. :)
dude. this is dope, cheers
Wonderful performance.
+strymon Thank you.
Brilliant m8 well done!
true analog bliss. Breathtaking
Hi Daniel. I was brought to your page from a post you made years ago about being able to record audio directly into the the Zoom Q4 video camera. Was this audio recorded directly in to the zoom also? Very great sounds/video by the way. Love it. Thanks
Yes. Straight from the mixer into the camera.
+Daniel Davis Thanks so much !
I would describe the minilogue to be silky sounding! Very good
it look like: multitrack !!!!! awesome !!
Loving this!
+SineRider Thank you.
+SineRider Hey man, let's collaborate on something this year.
+Daniel Davis I'm totally down! Do you have my email?
+SineRider A collab between you two sounds like it would make a lot of sense. I hope you guys do that.
This is absolutely ridiculous, and I mean that in a good way!
Really nice!
Fine Ambient Sound.
j adore !!!!!!
Very nice. Liked it. Do you have a CD/album of your music by any chance. ?
Thanks. And yes, many.
carlsagansghost.bandcamp.com/
kind of reminds me of music by phillip glass. nice work
Wonderful ! Well done ! Amazing what such effects can do. Question : What do you suggest me to buy ... the Strymon Big Sky or the Eventide Space ?
I like the Bigsky more. To my ears, it sounds more modern. But you probably can't go wrong with either choice.
Absolutely amazing, your subbed mate !!! :D
Very good :)
this is really good.
Thank you.
lovely aesthetic man, subscribed :)
recorded with a mic or direct input?
direct.
Good set up. I'm getting a simular.
Amazing

Really cool jam! Is there a "hold" function on the synth or did you just use the looper to have an infinite feedback?
+2RoMaideN No hold. Just used looper.
Great video. I should note though that I think those effect pedals cost more together than the Korg synth does. :)
Jesus H Christ. This is not a fucking demo for the Minilogue. It's a fully produced performance. The only thing that matters is the final music. The cost of the gear is entirely irrelevant. Next time I'll be sure to use a synth that costs twice as much as the pedals.
I wasn't criticizing that, just mentioning it. The music is what matters, I agree.
Right on. I just get tired of comments like that. Sorry to blow up on you. :)
Incredible
Sweeeeet! Btw does the Bigsky have a High and Low damp functionality like the Bluesky? Am asking cause i don`t see the knobs Lo-Hi like on the Bluesky
Yes. The functions are there. Just have to step through a parameter menu.
Thank you.
I do not like the menu diving on the large Strymon pedals at all.
:-) How did you end up with the Bigsky and not the Space or Empress pedal?
Not a fan of the Eventide Stomp boxes, and I like the sound of Strymon's effects more. Never heard or tried the Empress.
Please tell me what is the sequence of connecting the pedals to each other and to the minilogue and monitors?
Truly amazing. I have a Dig and an Eventide H9, and an Infinity, and my minilogue is coming, in two days. This is exacty the kind of thing I want to d What patches are you using on the ML, and are you using loop aging on the Infinity?
I'm using my own patches, and I am using the loop aging/decay on the Infinity.
What do you have the loop aging number set to? Any chance you'd share those patches?
I usually keep the loop aging set to 7 or 8. I'm not sharing any ML patches right now, but I might have a bank up for grabs in the near future.
Are you also using a volume pedal?
No - no volume pedal.
Terrific!
Very cool !
I am wondering how to hook up pedals to my synth? Cant find much on the web, and it looks like its a little more complicated then with a guitar (seeing all the cables that are being used) I have a minilogue and a focusrite 2i4.. would be much appreciated!
You just run the audio out from the synth into the audio in of the pedal. Just like a guitar.
Awesome!
Well done. Where did you get those colored 1/4" patch cables if you don't mind me asking?
probably in a store or on the web
Yep. Amazon.
great!!!!!!!
Lovely, tnx. :)
Quick question. How are the boxes hooked up? Minilogue -> Dig -> Infinity-> BigSky?
Thanks. ML > Dig > Bigsky > Infinity.
Daniel in your professional opinion is the Pro 2 leaps and bounds better than the Minilogue?
alex the sun yes. But the ML is no slouch.
Thanks for posting this. Can you explain how all of this is patched together please?
Pretty simple. Audio out from ML into Strymon Dig then into Bigsky then into Infinity looper.
Daniel Tell me, what kind of mixing console do you use to connect the pedals and synthesizer?
No mixer here. Just synth into pedals, straight into camera's audio-in.
@@DanielDavissynthman Wonderful job!!! Very tasty ambient. Bravo!!
Can i ask you if someone send you these or if you bought them ?
And if someone send you these if you will be keeping them.
I buy everything I use. The only thing I've ever been sent to test is the OB6. That probably won't happen again. :)
how do you get continuos sound if looper is post efx? I'm not a le to use this work flow without having some problems in continuity and so the looper is pre efx....
loop cross fade.
good stuff
awesome
so, does this use reverb and delay? nice demo by the way, though you could have explained the features a bit better
My next video is 3.5 hours of nothing by raw OSC tones.
Whaaaaaaaat *subscribed*
How to you wire all these together?
Audio out from ML into DIG, into BigSky, into looper. Just basic guitar/fx chain.
You are wiring in stereo that's why there are 4 cables on the back on the bigsky. Thank you.
Right.
how long can that infinity looper record for
+Tom Hawkins So long that I've never come close to running out of time. I think the base model can do an hour of looping, and it's super easy to add more memory.
Hola 🙋♂️Ignorancio Davis
really reverb on it?
fucking awesome !
was this done with the korg presets?
Casey Curlee most of these are custom patches, a few are modified pre-sets.
So I just jumped into the world of analog synthesis. Any suggestions on good places to get quality patches?
Your imagination!
Wow...
👏👏👏👏👏
I prefer the sound of the OB6
Most do. I actually prefer the ML. More character and more unique, IMO. Working on a bunch of new ML things right now. It's my favorite modern synth.
Then get the OB6, and make great music with it.
Are you seriously comparing a $3,000 synth to a $500 one? Of course the OB6 is gonna sound better, but for the money you get a lot from the minilogue.
This is pretty common because they both came out this year and have been at the top of the hype heap. But I agree, if you spend 4-5x as much, you should expect it to be better.
holy cow
Oh yea.
How is this hooked up please LIST EVERYTHING your usheringOr ushering rather please LIST all petals
It's all in the description.
