@@matthowell8985 Hi Matt. They were good times I had with the F types. As you may know. I had two. My son bought a V6 at the same time. He went on to getting a V8 just over a year ago. He's moved on again as he trying to bought a property. You must get one if you can. The only thing I can recommend is get one with a warranty as they are expensive to fix. Enjoy your F type I know you will. JT.
I bought a 2018 F Type R V8 brand new and it has always been my dream car and I’m in love! I have 18,000 miles I put on in 1 1/2 yrs and my back tires were bald so just replaced the rear tires with the Perelli P Zero. Cost over 800.00 just for the rear tires. To me it’s all worth the fun I have owning it👍🏻♥️ I do have carbon fiber rims and red calipers on the front brakes.
cheryl turgeon It was certainly one of the best decisions i made, buying mine. It opened up many doors to more fun and experiences. Glad you love yours as much. Sadly mine has now been sold for something else in the future. Have fun with yours. Thanks for watching my video too. Big love. 🙏🏽
This, so far is the best, most exciting car I have ever owned. If you've ever wondered what it costs to own one. Hopefully this give you an insight. As well as some of my plans to make some small changes. I hope you enjoy it!
A great video, very informative and a beautiful car. Thank you. My comments for what it's worth. Tires can be quite an expense. I changed out the tires and increased the size on my V8S from the P zeros to Michelin P4S. My experience has been that the P Zeros are pretty bad especially when they have some wear on them. Changing to P4S is night and day. I use P4S on my BMW track car and it makes a huge difference. On the Jag I went to a 265/35ZR20 front and 305/30ZR20 rear. ie same size as the SVR uses. Much improved grip, better ride and less noise compared with the P Zeros. Price; $325 for the 265 and $391 for the 305s. I have also been surprised by the gas mileage at about 17 mpg around town and about 24 mpg on the Freeway between here in Tampa and Miami for example. Cruising 80 mph to 90 mph+ Of course it is a smaller US gallon. 5/6 is the conversion I believe. Pretty good I thought. Oil changes are quite a bit more at about $80 for the Jag vs $30 for my Chevrolet. Not sure how they justify that. But The F type imo is not an expensive car to run, and even if it was would still be worth every penny. It is quite unique and makes me smile, or laugh out loud, when my wife isn't present, every time I flattened that gas pedal.
Well that F type didn't last long. After only 6 day I returned it back to the Jag dealer. Discovered it had a pass life. Found out It was driven by Hammond on prefect road trip 2 DVD. In the DVD he raced an F type around a track in Italy and smashed it into the safety wall damaging the front and rear. Only a few million people saw that. You can find it on youtube racing against a Nissan GTR for Auto express. Found images on the web of it racing a Porsche, drifting around some race track, used as a safety/pace car at Donnington park plus other loads of advertising events. Wow. The supplying Jag dealer didn't know and I only found out by chance. They took it back straight away. It will find its way back into the retail market but not through a Jag dealer. So if you are looking to buy a red F type with OY14HFH as the reg. Well, its up to you. Got a replacement now. All seems to be ok with this one JT
The Bodyman Oh my good grief. That sounds horrendous!!! Being in the automotive industry, I’m not surprised as all of the early test cars get re-fitted and checked before being sold as second hand cars but to have one get put so much through its paces and still be sold is a little bit scary! I’m glad for you that you got your money back and had the ability to go back to the dealer. Massive relief! I am surprised that a car of that age was used for that sort of thing. I’d have thought it would he earlier cars used for media things like that.
You mentioned financing the car with a buyout at the end of the loan. What is this type of loan called? I don't think I have heard of it. Maybe it's not an American thing.
C Schulz Hiya! I don’t think it is actually. It’s called PCP or Personal Contract Purchase. You pay a deposit, agree a term and then the monthly payments are calculated based on interest rate, depreciation and then the agreed ballon is paid at the end or you just sell it.
@@4SmokingTailpipes that would be so awesome. If you knew there was a car you wanted to just enjoy for a while and not have to worry about mileage and other stuff that go with a lease. Thank you for the fast response.
C Schulz You do need to tell them an estimated mileage in some cases but it’s in no means as strict as Lease. Also, it just means if you are a long way over estimated, the car is worth less than the ballon or redemption figure at the end and you need to top it up and add to it for the next deposit. Thanks for watching pal! 🙌🏽
Whats the difference between owning it and financing it? When you give it back the same depreciation will be on the car so after the 3 years surely you'll of spent the same amount as buying it and selling it for say 10 grand less than you paid? If anything you'll spend more because finance percentage are crazy.
The main difference is that you don’t need to lay down the whole price of the car up front. You’re right, you pay for the depreciation over the term anyway plus the cost of the finance, which isn’t always high, it depends on your circumstances and financier. But. The big reason is that you can keep (of you have it) the capital you’re not spending on the car, in an investment earning more for you than the cost of the finance. Anyone that knows how to invest well and can do it successfully, would rather use capital to make more money than lay it all down on a car to do nothing but depreciate. This is what I did and I got out of the finance deal with some money left as well as my investments still earning more than I paid against the car.
Can you please explain why you decided to finance versus lease? You explained clearly the depreciation of the car and your lack of interest of owning the car forthright. I have always been told to avoid financing due to variable interest rates. Please share your thoughts. Thank you.
R CM Hi, yes of course. It was all down to cost too. I put a fairly high deposit down which will always be available at the end of the deal to pass on to the next car but also keeps the monthly cost down. Leasing would be on a new car instead and I’d be limited to mileage. This worked out more expensive too as with a second hand car like mine has already lost its initial depreciation hit as opposed to having to factor a higher end value into the lease term. Hope this helps.
OwenHigh 123 It really depends on your deposit and the finance deal assuming you don’t buy it outright. I had a deposit of £16k and pay £460 a month as a guide.
Great review. The most relevant to my reasons for buying one soon. I agreed with all of your decisions for doing/not doing things to the car. HW N Yes, mines the AWD and to be honest the back still steps out and it still gets a bit squirmy. The front wheels only start to pull when things get very slippery. It’s like anything. If you drive too heavy footed in the wet and winter you’ll fall off with anything with power to the rear wheels. You just need to respect it. It takes a while to get used to as the instant torque does mean you easily break traction when it’s wet.
