  • PikePro Braided Main Lines for Pike Fishing : Best Line for Predator Fishing
When pike fishing it makes a lot of sense to use a strong braided main line that allows you to straighten the hooks, rather than leave a baited trace in the water when you become snagged. That is why we have developed the PikePro Braided main line to cope with the rigours of bait fishing for pike.
In this video Paul Garner takes a look at the benefits of using braid and the knots that he uses to tie it and retain 100% of the knot strength.

Excellent video. Both for the practical advice on knotting and using braid, and the essential safety message, never snap up and leave a baited trace in the water. Using normal strength trebles also helps with this aim. Extra strong trebles are tougher to straighten out.

Palomar knot for me, the easiest and strongest.

Braid isn't affected by UV , so it doesn't degrade, I've seen peeps lose good fish because they were using nylon line beyond its life...if I "were" to use nylon, I would feel compelled to change it annually , whereas braid can & does last YEARS... just watch out for abrasion on the last few yards which will be from rubbing on rocks etc....I trim about 5 yards off per season for this very reason 😌
Another benefit of braid is also NO STRETCH !! ... so you feel every lunge during the fight & it also makes for easier hook-setting at long distances... nylon feels "bouncy" 😖
Just make sure you back your drag off (test it BEFORE you get a bite🙄) or a big fish can snap it where nylon would stretch first...
Braid is so much cheaper now than when it first came out so theres no real reason to not use it..
    Tight lines all 😌

I much prefer braid over nylon but some waters don't allow mainline braid.

Hi Darren, pretty much, we prefer the crimping tools that have small 'teeth' on the jaws, as these create a stronger joint.

    Hi all at pike pro
Are you going to make a floating brid for drifting Ive been looking for a decent one since Foxy discontinued the drift master.
I’ve tried a few different mics for usually two lights in the breaking strain are stupidly over bright colour and most of them don’t flow after half an hour
