Of the helmets mentioned, my partner and I had the Fox, IXS, POC and Smith here. The POC didn't want to suit either of us. One size was too small, the other too big. In terms of quality, however, I found it to be non plus ultra and would have taken it immediately if it had fitted.. The IXS didn't seem to me to be of high quality and not very stable. The Fox is simply super expensive but couldn't really convince me with the wearing comfort. We both ended up buying the Smith Mainline because it fit super well. He sat tight without pressing. The only drawback for me is the safety lock. That's always a bit fiddly with gloves. But it is super ventilated and was very convincing when pushing up and driving up the trail. No comparison to my previous full-face helmet, under which I could barely breathe with light exertion. I was also a bit concerned that the Smith Mainline's creaking would bother me. You can hear it, but after a few minutes you no longer notice it.

I just went with ixs trigger mips. 4 reasons: low weight, great airflow, dial fit, good price. Thought about the new Fox Proframe RS but the ixs is appox 2/3 the weight of the Fox. The ixs is my pedal friendly do all helmet so weight and air flow was important. Fits me good too.

minuto 11:42 I'm sharing this information that might seem obvious, but many people are unaware of it. When putting on a full-face helmet, whether for a motorcycle or bicycle, it's important to keep the straps facing outward. To wear it correctly, hold the straps and pull them outward, as if you were trying to widen the helmet's opening. This allows your ears and head to slip in comfortably. Once your head is inside, release the straps, and let the padding adjust around your head and face. Excellent video, it was very helpful in choosing my new full-face helmet.

I started wearing my ixs ff for all of my rides in FL because I found it to be very comfortable and lightweight. Even in the FL heat. I am so glad I started doing that in a relatively tame trail I lost my front end and hit a rut went otb and landed right on my face and chest. My face was fine but if I was in my half shell I likely would’ve had a scraped up face big time.

I got a POC for a birthday gift, my first impressions were similar to yours, but solved the problem of adjusting the straps, I just put them under the cheek pads and it's great now. I am going to buy a new full face as my old Poc Coron is way to big and heavy.
I have always been using medium sized helmets and when testing the Fox it fitted me in a M but almost destroyed my ears getting it on, now 4 days later my ears still hurts. The Poc in medium was physically impossible to get on and the Large felt, as said in the video way too big, I looked silly with this giant head.
The third helmet I tried was the Smith. I am a bit biased as I have two open faced helmets already, which I love, actually a third one too for commuting, all in Medium. But the Mainline had to be a Large to fit, I guess it is my jaw that is a bit bigger. Although this is a bit heavier and probably also warmer I am pretty sure I will go for this one as it felt great, more safe and even if I have to go for Large it didn’t look very big on me. Just have to find a color I like, probably have to search for one from the earlier seasons 😊
Giro and Leatt was ruled out. The others wasn’t available. And TDC Stage wasn’t either available which I think could be fine too.
