I found a key in a parking lot and thought it was mine, it allowed my bike to start. My key was still in my pocket. When I got home I started looking online if this could even be possible and found out no 2022's have active DESS. Then I saw a post about a magnet allowing them to start so I took a magnet off my fridge and I'll be damned if it didn't start. Legal action coming because we were sold a bike with DESS that it doesn't have and BRP refuses to do anything.
I got a 2022 yesterday after I finally gave up on a 2021. An not only any random key, I also heard a magnet can start it too. I just made sure to get full coverage an gap insurance.
@@brpmikeryker605 I talked to the dealer an he said Can Am pose to be fixing this shit. But they weren't to sure about were they gonna charge to put a chip in or do it for us.
I talked to my local dealer and was told they are missing a computer chip that controls that only the owners key working. That is why they are coming with a parking brake lock.
I just installed the keyless ignition add on. Even makes you hide the ignition ball so there's nothing to put any key fob on. Problem solved. The keyless ignition even has two modes: manual or auto. Auto is cool coz once the bike senses you within 10 ft (something), it auto starts. Just don't lose your remote, obviously. In case you lose it or forget, there's a manually protocol to restart it as well.

So how do i go about getting this?
So you spent more money to have a secure bike when you already paid for a security system you didn't receive?
Yeah I heard about this in January And they said when a chip is available you can add it in the key and I believe for a cost
It will also start using a REGULAR MAGNET! That is scary! No claw key? Get a magnet
