It's because the transponder chips for the keys aren't available (supply chain issues). So once they get them in, they're supposed to go back and fix all the keys. It's only for the '22's.
I don’t this this is for all of them. I did a 3 key swap on 3 models on my ‘22 and neither worked. But I have an alarm as a deterrent and keep my brake locked at all times.
Yup another reason I just got my deposit back off mine and I knew this since January,and when I brought it up to the sales rep and he brushed it off but I was like cool maybe whenever it’s delivered they will have the problem resolved and then when I found out the chip for the key will be available at dealerships soon for additional price and I’m like I’m good I’ll wait until next year and that emergency brake ain’t gone do nothing
Can am has a fix for this now. There is a campaign on it. Contact your dealer. My dealer fixed mine, no charge.
