Thanks for the tip. It is amazing how often these goofy problems or warnings are solved with a new battery. I have seen it when I had my Kawi and with my Honda. There is always a bunch of ways (on the forums) to read a battery cold, warm, blah, blah. I never understood some of those ways to check the battery, but replacing the battery always did the trick.
Good morning. Thank you so much for this video about the Ryker. Mine did this yesterday and I had no clue what was going on. I just want to say thank you for posting about it.
My Ryker was parked for 2 weeks returned from vacation it wouldn’t start. I charged the battery, slowly it started but was weak, accelerated then it shut off. I received the VSS error so I shut the Ryker off again. After a few minutes tried to start it and now I’m receiving the Card Error reason for me coming across your video. Thank you for sharing. You are correct no other videos or info regarding that error. The Dealership is closed I plan on calling them for suggestion my battery is a replacement has it 8 months and Ryker is kept in a shed. I’m thinking it’s something with the speakers recently added. My reason for not being one who is Mod lover. I’ll update you once I find the issue.
Hi, thank you for your comment and input. I know what you mean about mods... i feel its a hit or miss... My battery was fairly new when this happened and a new battery resolved my issue.. i hope it works out... have the dealership check out the battery also....
It’s cold here in Minnesota but my garage is heated and it was around 60 last time I rode it with no problem but I haven’t started it in maybe three weeks and when I tried I got nothing. Then a bunch of codes and then the safety manual thing. I just put LED’s on in September at the same time I bought a brand new battery from autozone. So now I’m irked because there’s no way it’s the battery and my wires are water proof I think but it didn’t rain the last time I rode either so this is crazy but im going to take my battery to autozone for them to test it because it’s under warranty. I appreciate the video.
This was so helpful. I pretty much am having same issue. But mines is also saying VSS Fault after the read safety card. But lights horn dash everything lights up just won’t turn over
Possibly has something to do with leaving it outside when it’s starting to get cold out. Might need to invest on a battery tender or your new battery will die quick too.
Hello..perhaps...although it's not really cold yet by us. I do have and use the battery tender for the off season. I believe lights maybe were left on...not sure.
Yeah, left mine out for winter put battery charger in, started up, rode around the block, turned off, turned back on I got that card error, charged battery all night, same thing next day, seemed like it wasn’t getting gas , bike is a 2022 I only have 800 miles on it, guess I’ll go and get a new battery, thanx for information
A friend of ours is getting that same read when she tries to start but they literally just replaced her battery at the dealership she JUST got it today...
So I am researching and my battery is a new battery I will say I don’t ride much so maybe the new battery is not charge enough but thanks no thanks on that or I am due a refund

The safety card is simply instructions that can be read when you open the right air vent of the bike...
