Water Rescue/Recovery and a Wildland Fire - PIO Vlog

- On this PIO Vlog we follow South Metro Firefighters to a water rescue at Chatfield State Park in Jefferson County, Colorado. After 90 minutes spent searching for a drowning victim, a thunderstorm created dangerous outflow winds that capsized a rescue boat, sending 4 personnel into the water. The rescuers had to be rescued and once the storm passed, recovery operations began. We also take you to a wildland interface fire in Douglas County where nearly 5-acres burned. Connor and Eric conclude the Vlog with patch shoutouts.

Well done! So glad every rescuer made it back home at Chatfield. I responded to many calls there when West Metro had the contract. It’s a great park but you video reminds me of how brutal the lake becomes in seconds. I always don a life vest and you showed why well. Divers and rescuers train for that and that lake takes what it wants without warning. Crews did well. Brutal. Eric you’re the best PIO ever in the US Fire service! Really built a great system and added strength to SMFR! Congrats Connor on wedding bells and super well said commentary!

Connor, Congratulation on your wedding and honeymoon. Carmel-By-The-Sea is where i went to high school and is still one of my favorite places in California, even though I now reside in San Diego.
I just wanted to clarify for the CA Dept of Corrections patch the "Eureka" is the state motto not the office. Its Greek for "I found it" which dates back to the miners of CA. I love your videos you guys do a great job.
