- On this vlog you'll watch several view points from a working townhouse fire on the 4th of July, see first due dash cam video of a vegetation fire engulfing the front of a home, take a look at a duckling rescue and patch shout outs.
This channel puts to shame TV shows. I love the full follow through from 911 dispatch to the end of the call. Very nicely done!
Literally this is way better than tv
And there's no need for enhancements, like dramatic music or sound effects (dubbed in sirens, motor revving, etc.) The incident stands on it's own merits.
It's probably waaaaaaaay before your time but there was a show on once a week that you would've loved back in the early 90s hosted by William Shatner called "RESCUE 911" and was the best show on prime time tv and it took you for a ride starting from the 911 calls, EMS/FD responses, then the rescues and finishing off with all the outcomes right from the victims, their families, friends and interviews with them and the heros themselves
@@joey_morg rescue 9-11 was awesome and wish it was still on tv but this has it beat by far.
I just love these longer incident videos where we see video with radio traffic. More of these please.
The duckling rescue was really heartwarming.
Yes!! I agree :)
Only three made it out
Nvm ain’t peep them at first
When District 1 left the station I was like who the hell BBQ during a downpour like that
Pretty much anyone from the British isles
Ha! This is Colorado. We barbeque when there's two feet of snow! I live in that townhouse community and my first thought was we didn't have any rain that day. We can get some really isolated downpours. I wasn't home the day this happened. This video made it very real to me. Thank goodness for firefighters!
Ha..me too. It’s raining ‘cats and dogs’ man..
@@Autofleet4429 🤣😂🇬🇧👍
God bless ALL fire departments, you are our heros...thank you for getting ducklings safely back to momma duck, im sure she appreciated your help....watching from Monticello, WI....prayers and peace to all....
One of the best SMFR videos i've ever seen!
You did an amazing job in editing Eric!
Feels like being live on scene with your firefighters.
Yay 0:32
Yay Eric
This is really, really cool. Not only do I enjoy having such a close look at how our american brothers operate on scene, but I also feel like it is a brilliant way to do public education about both fire hazzards and the departement as a whole. And let's not forget, that this has _brilliant_ production quality, showing that the PIO team approaches their job within public safety with just as much training, experience and passion as all firefighters do. I wish more departements would have pros like you on public information duty, it's so important that we have the trust of the public when doing our job and we can only get that by relating to them what we do and how we do it.

you should check out stockton fire's youtube channel. They have great videos with awesome insights.
@@legalcustodian69 I second this
Thumbs up to all rescue crews that put thier lives out to save others every day 👍
Giving the greatest of respect to ALL Fire and Rescue services around the world. They may all do things differently from each other but they all share a common goal of saving lives and saving property at a calculated risk to their own safety, often at a level of pay that doesn't reflect that risk. Yet they never complain. Regarding this video. One of the best I have seen of this type and I have seen hundreds, possibly thousands of this kind.
Wow, what RESPECT I have for all of our men and women that chose firefighting as their careers. Let me just say a big heartfelt THANK YOU. Kudos to everyone involved in the making of this video.
As a non-firefighter, this was incredible to watch! Thank you for sharing!
To all the staff within the rescue service, you are the heroes when ever we need your help,in what ever country all over the world :) :) :)
I love first responders❤. So happy to see the animal rescues.... thanks!!!
Great coordination and execution
Great information from dispatch. Very calm communications. So far I am very impressed.
Thank you for putting your life on the line for the rest of us
thanks you guys for your service
Thank you South Metro Fire for all that you do. You guys are true heroes; don't let ANYONE tell you different.
Thank you Kim Connor and Eric for the new south metro video your friend in north Springfield Missouri Kyle
Extremely efficient work. Wish all departments worked this well.
I want to say thank you for all you guys doo to keep people safe god bless you all
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Watching from Texas...🤗🤗
Love the ducks!!!
I can tell from other videos that you guys implement blue card incident command system. This is probably the best video I've seen that can be used for a training video for incident command. More of these videos would be appreciated by many. 👍
I like being able to see the different points of view and the dispatcher trying to get information.
This would even be a great classroom video. Lots of good angles and coherent communication - new firefighters can learn a lot from this.
This was another great video with excellent coverage of the town house fire which demonstrated how to respond and make quick work of this working fire. Fire was quickly brough under control and limited damages done. Good for the citizen that not only reported the fire outside the home, but also went another step in letting the owner know too. Quickly extinguished with follow-up investigation of the scene. Now this is the way to end this video with a multiple duckling rescue, and it makes sense why the fire department responds to these as well. The quality of these videos is always really stellar as well as the editing making them quite enjoyable and exciting to view. Thanks. Wow, that was a lot of FDNY patches, and that was only just a few of them. I wonder if anybody is missing their patch?
I love the dash and helmet cams, love the way you show the FF working close up. and drone footage. Retired FF.
Love the go pro helmet cams please do more with them
Great video. I hope more like this are coming.
I love helmet cams, especially ones from south metro, it would be cool just to have the entire raw helmet/dash cam video on a separate video, even if its unlisted
Nice job on that first fire. Good team work and comms.
Cool video. Nice to see how to handle a fireground in a professional way.
An amazing video, Eric. Well done. I have watched pretty much all of these videos and the response times and professionalism of these firefighters never ceases to impress me. They are all a credit to their profession and the community they serve must be very proud.
This is the best videos on fighting fires well done and professional done, and great editing job as well.
Outstanding organization with initial attack South Metro is a finely oiled machine Good Job.
Thank you for sharing these incidents with us. What a great perspective of all the simultaneously occurring operations and the excellent command and control that orchestrates the entire response. I feel like other fire departments can learn so much from the way South Metros handless their incidents. The public can also learn so much about everything that goes into managing an emergency incident. Thanks again!
Thank you so much Firefighters!
I gotta say, you guys are one of the most respected fire departments in the country, probably just under New York, LAFD & Chicago FD
Pretty much why you always have a few fire extinguishers near your grilling area, kitchen, firepit, and anywhere else where there will be a chance of a fire as the best way to stop a fire is before it spreads too much. Oh and regularly check your extinguishers to make sure they are not expired and are up to spec, and make sure you have the correct type of extinguishers in each area.
One thing I'll say about South Metro from all the video I've watched of these guys. They don't screw around upon arrival like I've seen in my share of videos. They hit the fire quick. And shout out to Connor Christian! You're a real cutie!
These videos just shows how some good training pays off. I watch a lot of fire videos and most of them can learn a few things here.
Ever so glad we have people brave enough to run toward fire when it happens just to protect us. True heroes. A real house on fire I see is so very different from the fantasy we see in tv shows and movies. The inside is almost pitch black from the smoke. Yikes!
*when youre in a fire truck on scene and a cop car is in the way:* "MOVE THAT SHITBOX BEFORE I MOVE IT FOR YOU"
Great job as always. Was very interesting to hear the manual dispatch of the first fire, so used to hearing the computer voice.
love the amazing vlogs stay safe out there
Lovely different perspectives with the helmet cams and dashboard cams
this video is very well put together, i love how you’ve got the radio communications overlayed with the video, great job!
If memory serves me correctly, the chief in the first fire did a "Day in the Life" video some time ago?
Mauricio Segura
This is one of the best video's yet! Please do more like this from the IC prospective with radio traffic.
I'm really surprised that the incidents on this video were never updated.
Excellent, excellent video Eric. This video was put together perfectly.
Great work. Thank you
Very good to hear what is happening and some analysis. Makes it easier to understand the process of fighting a fire rather than just views. Well done South Metro Fire Rescue and narrator. Viewed from Monument Colorado.
Where is all the screaming?
Seriously, this is an IC’s dream event. Firefighters that know what to do without leading them by the hand.
I was blessed to work with firefighters, as a BC, that exhibited those same skills.
21 years as a BC I don’t remember any time that the personnel didn’t perform in a professional way. Made my job a cake walk.
Love these videos, learning alot by watching this channel. Greetings from the Kinloch Fire Protection District, in Kinloch, MO.
Great duckling rescue. Wonder what kind of shrubbery is that flammable? Wouldn't want it planted around my house!
I love the format of this video. Reminds me of Chief Decker's with much of the video from the parked command vehicle and his are some of the best on youtube. New subscriber.
Great work from everyone and caller's
I'm new to your channel. Great job on the fires and animal rescues.
Great work! I know you often send crews to assist with wildfires across the country. It would be cool to send a camera with them to see what their deployments are like.
14:00 It is so chaotic once you enter that smoke filled house. Must be nerve wrecking if you're new.
Tha House IS ON FIYA THA OUSE IN ON FIYA!
That was AWESOME seeing those ducks saved, although the mother didn’t seem SO concerned or appreciative of the rescue, she was already moving on when 1 little guy was still in the drain no doubt thinking 🐥💭 WTF???? 🦆🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥💨
To South Metro fire rescue,
I love the work you guys do. I love watching you guys respond to the calls. I am such a big fan of your videos and work. The time is respected. Thanks for what you guys do to protect others.
Question, how many calls do you guys run per day?
Awesome job guy's
Seeing a those cars parked in the way like that pressed my buttons.
Thanks Eric for this in depth extended viewpoint of these incidents 👏👏😎 Awesome video log 👍. While someone was chipping away at the walls and taking out the windows, was that for egress needs ?
20:49 that lady made the little girl bring out a chair so she could sit and watch LOL
Can you please do a fleet Friday on the rescue semi truck. Looks pretty cool. Keep up the great work. :)
Awesome content!!!
Great Video again! Greetings from Germany
Interesting - once the second fire was out, you could see the TV still on in the back room!
Solid PSA detail…good information.
Excellent fire coverage.
Yes, this is excellent. Thank you!
You can say whatever you want social media and publich is south metro fire rescue the best in world i've not seen any fire department making such great content greetz from Munich Fire Department in Germany
Very well done, sir.
Now that was great work!
Firemen of all countries are my heroes. RIP for the greek Canadair pilots.
1st rule of being on the phone with FAC (Fire Alarm Center) AKA Dispatch Stay Calm when you are on the phone and reporting a fire or other alarms to the FAC and Listening to what they are saying for the report !!!!
Love love love helmet cams and driver cams! To bad you guys don’t have tiller trucks.
@SMFR are your metal tools made out of alloys that prevent sparks when you strike metal or hard surfaces?
Love the videos I don't know how I stumbled across your channel but I'm a subscriber now
Any particular reason why Engine 38 turned off their lights? Is it a symbol of how that truck is staging or just so the IC isn't blinded?
Thanks you and good job firefighters
Awesome job South Metro
did he just say "grilling operation?"😂 love these videos though. keep it up👍🏽
“Cool down the alpha side and we need hooks on the soffitt.” No kidding?? Blue card has taken the job back to day 1 on the job
I'm just hoping that there would be a major breakthrough as far as lifting the radio encryption for South Metro so that way scanner users can still listen in on fire incidents and what not that would be great if you could put that to work as a PIO i'm sure that you would accommodate such a request to whoever's in charge of the radio service division so hopefully you will update us on that side of things also on your next vlog‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
😪 I miss being a volunteer 🚒 firefighter for Arvada and 911 dispatcher for West Metro Fire....... so much!!✌️
#davesandersstepdaughter
Less than a hour!
This is awesome video
🔥🔥🔥🔥the hype!!!! Let go!!!!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
hey eric i noticed some guys are wearing leather fire helmets does the dept regulate what type of leather helmet the guys can get and what they do to them?
Awesome!
Going a bit off topic here but As a former first responder for my mills industrial fire fighting service (made up of volunteers from the mill lead by what we call a protection officer) I know from first hand experience how chaotic calls can be and you are left trying to decide how best to utilize what you have at hand and make the best judgement call based on current information available. Also due to the nature of my industry when the city fire department shows up we lead Because we are the experts on scene and know what we are dealing with. Fortunately we handle most calls in house and rarely call the city but when it does happen it does get chaotic because we are industrial fire fighters while the city is general fire fighters and can lead to confusion which is why it’s important to have training sessions with multiple agencies so everyone gets on the same page. It can and has lead to interesting conversations between city battalion chief and our Protection officers on how to best proceed and who is the boss per se.
my dad was a fdny officer in manhatten and my grandpa was a driver for tower 86
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S.......NICE VLOG
I watch alot of these videos and they all thing there shit is awesome. Well this is awesome, its what a well trained and well coordinated attack. Great control of flow paths no unnecessary damage. Fast attack!!!!!!👍 command has there shit together. Great job.
