OHH MAN, I was following your instructions while venting my brand new tires, and I went 2 and 7 just like you said.....before you changed your mind and said 1 and 7. Now my tires are vented out of balance. Gee thanks bro🤣
You can do it! You can do it all... well I'm sure you can do it. That wheel color combo would look sick with a matching paint job on the body! OK back to work!!
Matt, if u swap your rear shock towers, itll put the cap head of the screw more under the body. In turn, gives u enough room to make a toolbox to cover the shock towers, but not the fuel cell/rx box
Matt, your Class 2 Rig will definitely be unique amongst the others! Really nice. 👍👍 You MAY want to booby trap the Rigs you're shipping to Josh...... Just in case of "accidental" sabotage!! 😜😆😂 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

What are you looking for when deciding on wheel foams, I know much depends on rig weight but how do you decide on soft over medium, medium over hard when choosing the right combo?
Everyone's been talking about custom builds with Capra axles, are they all buying builders kits just to get the axles or are there aftermarket options?
If you use hairspray on portions of the body in between coats, the chipping and weathering is even easier. Just let the hairspray dry ALL the way, before spraying paint. If you google it, i'm sure there are video's on it. Hope that helps!
@@scalebuildersguild Oh, well in your video you asked for ideas so I was just trying to help a brother out. But, anyways you're welcome even tho you didn't need it haha.
i do not recommend putting holes in your tires to vent them is horrible in wet and snowy climates. no matter how big or how many holes you will always end up creating negative pressure insideand making a flat tire , constantly have to stop and pinch the tires to get them to go back to normal. drill the inside of the rim with one 1/16" hole. works alot better and dont have to. put gaping holes in your rubber to stop neg pressure build up when foam gets wet.
This is really confusing. What's causing all this negative pressure if there's multiple holes? If you get water in your tire/foam, how do you get it out when the hole is on the inside of the rim? I've never heard of a comp that allows you to touch the truck mid run.
Scale Builder's Guild not sure but it’s what mikesrch does to his rims and he told me how to do it and it works great. Maybe your bead locks are different but I am using the rc4wd Steelies. Because the foam acts like a sponge and soaks up water therefor blocking all open passages especially if your going through mud or damp forests. And I heard your spin the tires technique but doesn’t work when your creek crawling or running through the rain forests I live in.
Foams and shock oil question: Could I achieve somewhat the same results by running same foams front and rear but use thicker shock oil in rear.... Thanks for any help
The foams actually work when the air has an opportunity to escape. Otherwise, tire air pressure doesn't allow the foam to conform over an obstacle in quite the same way.
I found this old video of josh, showing the CI foams from 2013 [poison spyder build] was a great flashback and a good chuckle ; ruclips.net/video/Z0sQ5CtF7p4/видео.html

Put a hole at 11 to even it out a bit, i wouldn't make it as big as the other two holes though.
Pro tip : you can watch series at flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Gael Lucas yup, have been watching on Flixzone for since november myself :D
Dlux fab shocks work great! Eric knows what he's doing over there. He's got lots of products.

Thank you SBG, again a professional production and preparation, sure hope you keep us in the loop with life on the road for the Scale Nationals!
Red paint on the outside, chipped down to white, just like a real jellybean!
brian sakowski the Jellybean!!
I recently switched from stock foams to proline dual stage foams and it made a huge difference 👍🏻
Can't wait to see the final product for the class 2 truck, i'm sure that it'll turn out great!
Very nice crawler. I like the setup very much! I'm curious how it continues :)

Are they every really done!? Good luck, 30 days thill they have to be running.
How about building a tool box over the shock towers in that drop bed. If you have enough time. Looks 👍.
Keep the pressure on so he’ll work on those trucks. Lol 👍🏽🐒🇺🇸
Looking forward to 2020 scale Nationals:) like Tony the Tiger you'll do great;)

The way this winter is going, I might just be in the area at that time. I might have to plan for a road trip up to logandale
"Pretty stock for a truck that doesn't exist!" HAHAH!!
I'm glad someone got the joke! Thanks Chris!
All my best work is at the last minute... ;) you got this. I hope everything was ordered and shipped.
i almost got super excited when i thought you were going to white the letters on the tires
Definitely would like to see a video on the chipping.
What are you looking for when deciding on wheel foams, I know much depends on rig weight but how do you decide on soft over medium, medium over hard when choosing the right combo?
Terrain, weight of truck, temperature you're running in, how much deformation I want, etc.
Cool 😎 video 1.9 ‘s should work great 👍 you’re almost there my friend 😀
I know you have used some powershift rc parts in the past, but have you ever used one of their light bars?
Nope, but I hear good things!
@@scalebuildersguild OK thanks
Awesome Hat Matt
You should be running the Crawlspace Game Changer 4.2 setup it's the winning chassis
I have a ton of respect for the Crawlspace crew. Met them, competed against them, and will certainly look into it for a future build!
What marker did you use to identify your foams? I'm looking for something that is pretty weather resistant to do my white lettering
You could use an oil-based sharpie. These are water based paint markers and won't last long.
Everyone's been talking about custom builds with Capra axles, are they all buying builders kits just to get the axles or are there aftermarket options?
Most likely they are, yes. I'll be using the yet to be released VP version. Coming soon!
Would like to add a hard body to my SCX10ii are there any that would be easier to work/fit with than others?
They'll all require work. I wouldn't say any are easy. Especially if there's an interior.
Definitely go for more firm in the rear, for tires that is you damn pervert 🤣👍
Love this channel
Quick question.
Would the Axial Capra axles work on a scx10 platform?
Yep, they should. Maybe different links?
@@scalebuildersguild I'll try it once I have the body I just dont know what would look best with the wide axles and portals?
Any suggestions

Norse Viking Æsir all good! I was asking for ideas on the actual paint scheme!

lookin good! cant wait to see em all finished! :)
Don't think you can boat side the body as you have dovetailed both the Front and Rear right?
I haven’t dovetailed the rear actually!
Oops my mistake, (episode 2) you bobbed the rear bed and did not dovetail it, I think the dovetailed bed belongs to he who must not be named... Josh

Do you sell rtr class 1 ?? And if not which brand of rtr would you recommend
Axial, Traxxas, Element.

After seeing your wheel choice against your shirt, I believe you need a plaid paint job on this one!

Doubtful, as the tire conforming around an obstacle isn't going to change based on shock oil.
At the beginning. (😵😵😵😵) 《= his reaction
Realizes he's only got 30 days.
Looking Good 👍🏻
Paint it with slurry!
I tried the venting holes at 3:17 and 9:18 and it wasn't venting well
LOLZ!
The biggest thing I took from the video was....
Matt 3 trucks started
Josh 2 trucks started and one no idea
😂😂😂😂
Is there a way to overdrive an scx2 at the transfer case? Thanks!
Nope, only at the axle.
id personally match the colors with the wheels like a simalar red with like a bronze accents
Adam Savage says lists help you get moving. So he has lists for list that need to be made.
I see we share the same reading list!

which spring are that?
Losi Mini-T. Said so in the video. :)
30 days= 720hrs that’s plenty of time
What if Josh "accidentally" forgets your rig? Or just removes one foam out of a tire? Nah Josh wouldn't do that. Would he?
Your land cruser needs a real roll cage
