I really hope you follow this through because it's an incredible story. I know how this feels. My mum is a single mom with three kids and she works for the state yet we have faced every obstacle finding somewhere to stay in Jackson to lessen the cost of gas for us. Please please keep going.

Great film! However, as an outsider I have mixed feelings on this... Maybe this is due to my lack of personal experience, but I always accepted the fact that living in a tourist/outdoor location like Jackson would involve either getting rich or bumming it. My friend is currently living in summit county while taking a break from school and is living out of his van. He loves it though, because he invested in a vehicle that makes it comfortable and feasible, and knows that its necessary to make mountain living affordable. It think its appropriate that those jobs fall to recent college grads, who are most able to accept temporary living arrangements such as a van. From this video Jackson seems like the dream community, by allowing overnight parking and sleeping in cars. The real villains of the young/middle class worker are "communities" like Vail, where even day parking is a nightmare and lift tickets cost $160. They are the ones killing the middle class mountain goers and enthusiasts who wish to work there.

Unfortunately Jackson Hole has become a playground for the uberrich. They often build mega mansions which they only spend a few weeks out of the the year living here, declare this as their primary residence because state exempt taxes, but drive up the land values so it's not feasible to buile=d workforce housing. Furthermore J1 visas arriving from overseas often have priority in housing since they arrive with guaranteed housing and work hours upon arrival. This problem could have been addressed years ago before land values escalated out of control. It's not just Jackson Hole. This problem exists in urban areas. One day all of the working poor will be driven to the outside areas or have moved away and it will become very difficult to receive any services anymore. We have become ghetto nation and walled ourselves off from each other by income groups, oblivious to each other and our concerns.
