Hi Marisa & David, I've been waiting with great anticipation to see how your new life in Italy has started. Congratulations. I was supposed to visit there in April 2020 & was going to drive to Tuscany for a week & stay 1 night in Porto Ecole, then drive to an Agriturismo near Buonconvento for 6 nights. I had a few little road trips sorted for mainly the Val D'Orcia area. Maybe I'll get over there but not sure yet. I've been watching a couple of vloggers & they keep me going. Kylie Flavelle is one of them. Love her & so lovely to hear their son has been welcomed into the world. Enjoy, enjoy your adventures & I will enjoy riding along with you.

Buongiorno Anna and welcome! For now, we rent cars which is proving very expensive, so are looking at buying a small vehicle to get about in the country and if we need to do a longer journey we will hire for just a few days. There are also great local bus services, which take us to larger towns where there are train services to the cities. It's true that there are plenty of pros and cons about moving to a new country but having done it several times, I'm very relaxed and fatalistic about things. Each country has its issues and nowhere is perfect. What I lose in one sense, I gain in another. For us, the pros way outweigh the cons. The quality of life (lack of daily stresses) are golden to us! If there's something in particular you'd like to know, I'll always try to respond. You might like to also watch some of our previous videos about buying a house in Italy. @@talesfromtuscany I am catching up with all videos. Regarding the driving I maybe lucky and don’t have to take the test as Swiss. I know a few words in Italian at the moment. I heard lot of people fail in the driving test because it’s in Italian. 😞
@@anna_m59 yes, that's true. The test is very complex! I haven't taken it yet as I'm not yet a resident. I am an Italian citizen but as we are not permanent yet, I still drive on a foreign/international license. You're so lucky if you don't have to take the test! That's a huge bonus 😄🤩
