Welcome to "Tales from Tuscany"!
We are Marisa and David, Australian expats now living part-time in Chianni Tuscany.
During the Global Pandemic, we decided to buy our Italian dream home, sight unseen and with no prior knowledge of the area.
This is our journey and we are taking you along with us!
TODAY'S VLOG...
Well...I'm settling into the gentle rhythm of Tuscan life once again and just love it. Seeing good (new) friends again and making new acquaintances ...it's all so lovely and so much fun, despite the fact that I miss my beautiful David so much.
I get stuck into my first spring plantings and discover some lovely new walks around the village.
This place never ceases to amaze me and I fall deeper in love with it with each day that passes.
My home is warm, all- embracing and as one neighbour...is a little gem!
In this video I THANK on behalf of David and I, all the lovely generous souls who have supported on BUY ME A COFFEE so far!

Very sweet Marisa,love all the pots and plants 🪴 the pink rose,rosemary down the steps.,lovely olive tree 🌳 and the other plants.Just lovely going about daily life and to top it off peanut butter and jelly sandwich who could want more. Just beautiful ❤

I am very excited to see how your kitchen sink area takes shape. I really like your design idea of having the sink under the window. I have always favoured looking out whilst doing the washing up. 🧼

So much to love about this video! I love seeing your progress and what you're doing around your home. I want to be doing exactly that in Italy! Those square and terracotta planters are really nice. Those are so expensive here in the US. It's still too cold here to put geraniums out. Hopefully I can get some in another week or so. I've got tomato plants I grew from seed in the sun room and they are getting too tall for the shelf I have them on. Oh, we bought a vespa! Just a small one and I'm still getting confident making turns, but it's so much fun. I've wanted one since we took a vespa tour from Florence. I appreciate hearing some Italian language in your videos too. I'm trying to learn and I feel like I've hit a plateau. I look forward to your next video. Ciao!
Awww...you're too kind Cheri! Thank you so much! It's only been a week this weekend, so I'm just starting to get things done but I've got a lot going on (as you will soon in coming videos!) I hope that one day soon you achieve all your dreams and get you little home here too...I'm always here to help if I can. A vespa!!!!!! woohoo 🛵🛵🛵so exciting!!! You'll be a true local when you get here 🤩I'm glad you like hearing me speak Italian...that will become more frequent now and I hope it inspires people to learn.I start giving a few friends lessons. this week, which should be great fun.

I love your videos, you are so down to earth!! You did a great job on planters, they are beautiful!! Also, I love the kitchen idea that you want to put a sink right under the window!! Also, it’s a great idea to knock down part of that wall, I always thought the kitchen was kind of odd, so I feel like we are on the same page.!! you make us feel that this is our house as well because you share so many details, so we kind of drift in being in that house with you😂 I’m going to be in amalfi the end of August beginning of September. Are you still going to be in Italy?

Thank you so much also for. your feedback about the kitchen and the plants. There's still a lot more to change and fix but the house is liveable and so sweet, so we will just take little steps to improve her each year. I'm in Italy until. November this year, so yes...I'll still be here. The Amalfi coast sounds wonderful...I haven't been there since I was a teenager but you'll love it! See you soon! 🥰😍🤗😘💖

If you dont mind me asking how much is it to get a satellite dish and the installation charges. Maybe a video on the months costs of owning a home in Italy would be very useful. Ciao Janet! Thank you so much for your lovely compliments. The house is changing and coming to life more each door, which makes me very happy. The satellite internet depends on which company you chose. I went with a local company in Tuscany, which isn't far from us and offer wonderful after sales service for any problems. They are also much cheaper than other larger International companies. It costs us 199Euro plus tax for installation and the monthly cost for unlimited service is 25Euro plus tax. I will attempt to do a video on costs etc down the track when I have more time. Thanks so much for watching! xoxoxox
