Same here! Because my hair is a soft and curly texture, and it takes longer to loc, i prefer for it to interlocked. My 1st journey lasted for 5 years and my hair texture was thicker and they were palm rolled. And while i loved them, with m.j y current set, I wanted them to appear fuller because of my soft texture so my loctician made my locs smaller and I get them interlocked but not too often.
Great video. I’m still new in my journey, so I’ve been palm rolling to “train” my locs. However, everything you said resonated with me. I actual love my frizz because it gives me added fullness. Maybe it time to try just retwisting the new growth for a while.🙂 I’m looking forward to your new page and the recipes. ❤️❤️❤️
That isn’t bs but it’s not the truth either.. lol I am a licensed professional in natural hair and I am advanced in both techniques palm roll and interlocking . In reference to Build up, comes from the product used to maintain, dust, lint, sweat, common fabrics from clothing. You can be interlocked and your still going to have the same experience 2. Palm rolling doesn’t necessarily thin your locs but it definitely can if you don’t use tension control. When people over twist locs that is what causes thinning. But your locs are beautiful and if what your doing got them that way then I won’t knock it!
I agree with everything you said and so many people ask me how me and my sons locs are so thick. I don’t palm roll the shaft! I just started two stran twisting my hair and I can see how it will thin my locs out if I do that style often
Hey Ms. Morgan! I just want to let you know it was you and your loc journey that inspired me to start my 2nd loc journey. I'm 3 years in and we're about the same length. Congrats on your journey and growth. Keep being a source of light and warmth. Much love 💗💗💗❤❤❤🙌🙌🙌
I 100% agree with everything you said. I'm only 8 weeks into my journey and someone I know who has locs and has been locd for many years told me today that my hair isn't locd yet so the thinning issue shouldn't even be an issue of mine yet. I kind of want to share this video with her but i think that would only give her power and I REFUSE to do that. But the point you made about it being easier to retwist without palm rolling and the fact that its quicker might be my number 1 reason. I like how my hair looks right now even though it isn't the neatest. New subbie here. I want to watch your other videos.
You made some good points sis. I think ill skip palmrolling see how i like it! Like somone else said, its not like it stops the frizz anyways lol. The neat look lasts for about a week lol. Also, you are so pretty!
I've had locs for 20 years, palm rolled from day one, I hate the frizzy look... at least when they're freshly done. The frizz comes eventually, but I don't like paying & then leaving with frizz, I need it to be tight for at least a week. Also, I get my locs platted and the less frizz makes the braids last longer
I’m 8 months into my journey and palmed rolled for the first time last month bc I got some really flat locs. I only recommend ppl palm rolling if they want to fix that situation
Everyone has their own opinion in this subject. I agree with what u said. That's why I semi freeform & I don't use any products except clarifying shampoo. No oils , gels, lotions or any of that stuff.
If you get your locs palm rolled one time does it effect your entire journey? I’m 2 months in and this was my 2 retwist, I started off my locs with a comb n got my first retwist with it also but my 2 retwist palm rolled. I just want to know will my hair continue to thickin n frizz up🥺
Oh absolutely it’s the Habitual palm rolling that may be something you would worry about but maybe once or twice with palm rolling would have no effect on your hair thickening up!
I'm almost 3 months in and I have come to love the frizz! At first I hated it..but now I'm loving it. I'm really going to consider not palm rolling now when I do my retwist. Besides it really doesn't cut back the fuzz anyway lol!🤷🏽♀️ Thank you for this video.
Yes I’m so glad that you have learned to love the frizz because it literally won’t go away until you actually learn to embrace it !! So happy for you and happy three months!!
Thank you for this video i have naturally curly 3c hair and love the messy curly look and don’t want to palm roll I only retwist the new Growth for the same reasons I don’t want them thin
It takes me from start to finish wash to dry 2 hours.. I have gotten very fast and I do palm roll. It’s cool to see other people’s opinion about palm rolling.. I’m pro palm roll because like a fresh retwist but I do like the frizzy look as well..lol but keep doin ya thing! Like ur locs!
Yes so I got my hair professionally re-twisted only a handful of times and those times they were Palm rolled but every other time I did my own hair I only re-twisted from the root.
Now that I think about it I think you are right about the product getting compacted into the loc. I used a loc spray before and it made my whole loc so hard
Enjoyed your video. Yes, no more palm rolling. I am grieving the consequences now and recommitting to my own intimate loc care. That’s how I started and it was all good. Then i ventured out to styled locs and yes it was still growing and i thought i’d do palm rolls…. Full stop. Thinning and breakage has my full attention. Repaired. Refocus. Re-twist myself -again. 😩😄(Looking forward to checking out your vegan channel!)
I honestly am not sure, I think my locs are doing what it would naturally which is just continuing to compact which make it seem like they are getting thinner.
I have just started my journey. I saw palm rolling but it didn’t sit right with me so I just did the two strand twist. My issue is the unraveling at the root. It looks great after I retwist but the next day my roots are back to nappy. Any suggestions?
That intro was touching
🤍✊🏽
Locs thinning is so real. I have had locs for 13+ years, all palm-rolled. Going to free-form now. No more palm rolling.
Same 😂 I’ve been at it for a year. Enjoy the journey Sis
Free forming is something I would probably do in my next life! But yess.
I’m two months in and I don’t palm roll. I just twist the root and put a clip on it to hold in place and keep it moving😂😂
This is about to be me lol!
Yup same sis! No fuss keep it moving!!
Honestly that's what I thought was needed until I started my loc journey and saw the whole palm role technique.
Me too!!!!!
Yes!

I’m 2 months in I just had my first wash and retwist I told her not to palm roll..I’m happy with the look..I Love the fluff and frizz✨

Same! I'm so glad I found this video
I love the frizz in my locs. I began with two-strand twists in December 2022, and I love how my locs look.

Thank you so much for this!
What do you mean by twisting over the lock causes thinning? A bit curious
@@f1ushed- they said over twisting..like overly doing it..palm rolling the same loc excessively
I agree with everything you said and so many people ask me how me and my sons locs are so thick. I don’t palm roll the shaft! I just started two stran twisting my hair and I can see how it will thin my locs out if I do that style often
Yes! And I just started to realize that too! So I’m going to lay of the two strand twisting.
Two strand twists will thin locs out??
Yaaay!! I’m so glad you’re starting a vegan channel!! I definitely will subscribe!
Yay! Thank you! It’s up now, and starting to post Monday again!
I love the frizz in my hair
Same sis!
Me to I think they look better and fuller
I’ve asked several times to not palm roll and they continue to do it. This is my last time going. Shops don’t listen.
Oooh no , yes it’s very hard to get someone to do something they aren’t used to.
Morgan Alexis I like how you stated this. Thank you.
You’re welcome!
Agreed! Ask them not to palm roll but they did it anyway

“In the wilderness”......😂😭
Lmboo clearly couldn’t find the words to say.
Came across your channel! Love your thinking! Can’t wait to see the vegan dishes!!❤️😍
Thank you so much beautiful!

Mostly women like the frizz
Same here I don't palm roll my locs, I love the bumps and frizz 🤣🤣🤣
Yess love it! I want more 😭😂

Thank you for sharing!
Your locs are so beautiful. I don’t palm roll either. I just adopted a plant based diet. I love it.
Ohh yes girl! Thank you so much!

So do you moisture at all and of so how?
Sounds crunchy
@@cjugh5595 you’re nuff 😂
Same
Where did you get your necklace😍
I love messy hair, like you said it's more authentic. Never liked a fresh head of hair on me whatever the style, be that natural or extensions 😂
Right! It’s something about it! Lol I feel you!
Meee tooo sis! I never liked first day perms lol. I don’t palm roll either
You can palm roll with just natural aloe Vera gel and oil
Very true!
You just got a new subscriber just from the beginning of your video ✊🏾
Thank you 🙏🏾
I share your POV too. While I love to see palm rolls I’m still glad mines aren’t
I’ve had my starter locs for a while I’m getting my first retwist tomorrow and after this retwist I’m going to start doing my own retwist
Nice! I think that’s wise!

When u said If I had to also go in and palm roll each individual loc that's alot of time right there! okay!😂 I felt that...thanks for the laugh
Lol okay!! Thank you !
I don't palm roll myself and I had my locks going on about 3 years. Trying to keep the roots tight though 🤦🤷
Yea the roots keeping is the hardest for me.
Thank you for this video i have naturally curly 3c hair and love the messy curly look and don’t want to palm roll I only retwist the new Growth for the same reasons I don’t want them thin
Of course! thank you for watching! I love that we can embrace the 'messy'!

Right! I’m all for people maintaining the way it works for them!
Yaassss “Morganic”!!!!!🖤🖤🖤
💕
Where did you get that necklace
So have you always retwisted from the root instead of palm rolling? Like since starter locs days?
Yes so I got my hair professionally re-twisted only a handful of times and those times they were Palm rolled but every other time I did my own hair I only re-twisted from the root.
Now that I think about it I think you are right about the product getting compacted into the loc. I used a loc spray before and it made my whole loc so hard

Thank you! I got them from vision works actually!

@@iammorganalexis thank yu so much !!
You’re welcome!
I don’t simply bc I like the fluffy look on my locs
That’s real.
I LOVE your intro!!!
Aw thank you!
Do you interlock your hair when retwisting? and did you interlock when starting off?
Thanks
Hey! I only tried interlocking one time and didn’t like it but it was way after my locs matured.
I love it! Follow your gut sis 👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you beautiful!
good way to inform ✅🤝
Thank you!
"oh father" 😂. that's me.
😂😂
Wilderness 🥸 that’s funny after a week the palm roll is relaxed. There’s nothing better than palm rolling after a yr you retwist less
Right!
So you interlock? I interlock and it works best with my hair😁
No I actually don’t interlock either, I just retwist the roots.
Enjoyed your video. Yes, no more palm rolling. I am grieving the consequences now and recommitting to my own intimate loc care. That’s how I started and it was all good. Oh no! I hear you, I’m glad you are able to repair now! Thank you for watching!
What do you think the reasons are for your locksthinning
I honestly am not sure, I think my locs are doing what it would naturally which is just continuing to compact which make it seem like they are getting thinner.
Team Frizzy Hair!!! Love eet!💖💖💖
Haha yes!
what are some other ways to retwist?
Interlocs
The way I do it is I just twist the roots.
Why are you so adorable 😍 Great 👍🏽 Info cuz!
Thank you Leesha 💕
I agree with you on all points!
Powerful intro ✊
Thank you.
i'm excited for the vegan channel!
Thank you girl! I followed you on insta!
I have just started my journey. I saw palm rolling but it didn’t sit right with me so I just did the two strand twist. My issue is the unraveling at the root. It looks great after I retwist but the next day my roots are back to nappy. Any suggestions?
Late ash but comb coil the roots
I went from com twist to palm roll one time will that affect my locs?
No not at all!
Well, it’s hard to say. But I’d like to think one time wouldn’t make that much of a difference!
I will definitely subscribe Vegan channel. Love trying differ vegan recipes!
Yay thank you! It’s up! Posting more videos starting Monday!
How many locks u got
I have 111.
I agree with you.
Loving your look in this video 🥰🥰
