    There is sooo much that I admire about the contents of this video. First, I love that you’re not concerned with your gray hair. I am starting to gray and one of the things I don’t see, are more locs that are gray or peppered with it. The other thing is that your locs are coming along so well. I am so happy for the progress that you have made. I can’t wait to see more from you about your locs.

      I use to work at a beauty supply and my all time favorite customer had silver locs to her butt. The only thing she would buy was purple toning shampoo to keep her grey bright. I would have to catch myself being a creep because I loved her hair so much 😍😩😂🤣

    This is motivation. I started my locs 8 months ago. Alot of people told me i need to use some type of gel. I only use oils and water. They are so light weight and soft, but they are locked. I also don't use any combs, just my fingers

      I started my loc journey 2 weeks ago but I did about 2 weeks of intense research because I I wanted to quickly get to it lol. But I found water and oils is the only route you want to go. My hair texture is very fine and I start on about 6 inches of relaxed hair and 3 inch inches of natural hair so product was tempting lol.. I can’t wait til my first wash and retwist tho.

      Same here! I daily steam in the shower, when I do wash them, I use Dawn dish detergent then Dr Bonners peppermint soap then oil my scalp up REALLY good before I retwist. Its been 8 months and my babies have come such a long way. No products needed 😊

    • @NaturallyMichy
      @NaturallyMichy  5 лет назад

      Thank you so much! I have 2 or 3 questionable locs that I may have to combine in the near future, but I'm not sure whether I should wait until they fully mature to make that decision yet. Are you thinking about having more or less number of locs?

    • @divinely_magical387
      @divinely_magical387 5 лет назад

      @@NaturallyMichy I would like them a little smaller. I think they appear more full, the smaller they are. I wanted to get ur take on whether you feel combining would be necessary in ur future to help me decide whether going a bit smaller is a good idea.

    • @NaturallyMichy
      @NaturallyMichy  5 лет назад +3

      It really just depends on the person and what they like. I believe you can have fuller locs with both larger and smaller locs, but that's also determine by each individual's thickness, texture, how you start and maintain them. Whether I combine mines or not in the near future, we'll just have to wait and see. My locs are different sizes all around and I prefer the thicker locs over the smaller ones, but I'll wait until they fully mature before I make any alterations.

    • @shawneegirl1980
      @shawneegirl1980 5 лет назад +6

      @Teisha MISUNDERSTOOD breakage doesn't occur merely because of how small the locks are....locks break depending on the health of the hair and how often the hair is being manipulated. Many people get sisterlocks and their hair doesn't break because they leave it alone. While I do agree that smaller locks don't necessarily mean a fuller look (Millicent's locks are definitely full)....I disagree that smaller locks mean breakage.

    Hello I have a few questions....
    First how long do you leave your hair in the clips/retwist style?
    Second what are you spraying in your hair?
    Third I’m doing locs but im doing the Inter locing method.... but my scalp is still fuzzy after my retwist and relocs
    How do I get them clean looking?

    • @NaturallyMichy
      @NaturallyMichy  4 года назад

      1. I keep my clips in until my hair is almost dry (underneath a hair 15-30 minutes).
      2. I'm using Impress Loc and Slay to retwist my hair.
      3. I'm not as familiar with interlocking, but hopefully someone else will see your comment and be able to chime in and answer your question.

      You have to dilute with water, more water than soap. I add a slew of cleansing oils to my hair, but I acv rinse, mixed with more water, of course, my hair first, especially the scalp, before using the soap. Maybe with locs, you should use the acv rinse again after the Castile soap and let it sit for a few minutes or so, then rinse it out. That might eat away at the build up.

    Hey I love your retwisting process. When you allow your hair to dry do you have any problems with the hair staying in place? Also will the hair eventually loc all the way down the hair shaft? I was just wondering.😊

    • @NaturallyMichy
      @NaturallyMichy  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you! No, I usually don't have any problems with the hair staying in place once it's dry. Yes, over a period of time the hair will lock all the way to the ends. It just varies from person to person on how soon it will happen. Some see results within the first year and for some it'll take longer than a year or two before the entire head is completely locked.

    4-6 weeks? How do you keep the base so nice and separated for that long? After 2 weeks it's hard to tell where the root beginning of a dread starts on my head.

      I use low manipulation to my hair. Meaning I usually try to keep my hands from picking at the roots unless its after a wash day. On a wash day I'll separate the hair at the roots to prevent them from entangling together. The hair at the nape of my head always unravels though because I tend to sweat a lot after working out. I wear a tube wrap to keep my hair off my neck whenever I workout.

      @@NaturallyMichy I wear a bondiband for gym stuff. My nape hair also is always the first to come undone, usually accompanied with the locks at the front, but that's due to showering. I usually have to wear a shower cap to keep my locks from coming undone from just even getting wet. I almost never touch my hair, but it still comes undone.

      @@koujimoreno What do you use to retwist your hair? Have you thought about interlocking?

      @@NaturallyMichy I use Jamaican Mango & Lime Locking Creme wax (sometimes this is mixed with locking gel) with the palm rolling technique. I clip it just as you do then I use hot air for about 20 minutes before removing the clips and doing it another 10 minutes. For the first two weeks, it's nice and separated. Then after then the outer edges start to come undone.

      @@koujimoreno Well if your locs are unraveling after 2 weeks, then I believe that's pretty normal. Mine start to loosen up after 2 weeks as well. I retwist my hair every 4-6 weeks, but in between then, my hair is all puffy and undefined.
